Decided I wanted a 2021 Camry XSE V6 red leather 2 tone went in and spoke with Bob and Kurt placed order as vehicle had to be special ordered. Waited almost 5 months and finally car arrived Bob called set us up for appointment early in the morning which I was super happy about because we kept bothering him because I’m not patient SORRY BOB lol. Went in saw Jeremy he did all paper work fast and easy super thankful this is our 2 vehicle from here and they are all so awesome and great to work with thank you big Island Toyota I’m obsessed with my Camry 😍

We had an oil change, and noticed an oil leak under the truck after we had it parked at home. Called for an appointment and showed up five minutes early; we were told it would be at least 20 minutes to be seen since everyone was at lunch (not sure why theyd schedule an appointment during lunch). An hour later, our truck still hadnt been looked at by a technician. We asked for the service manager and were told hed find us; after waiting another 20 minutes, still no service manager or truck. We will NEVER return here again.

Brought my 2015 Chevy Sonic in for tcb switch replacement and new fan installion, lived in hilo for 27 years Worst experience Ive had! Picked up my car told it was done, passing puainako my thermostat and engine light came on and noticed smoke from engine. Had it towed back to de luz Chevy & big island Toyota. The problem was found and the manager Kekoa informed me the technician installed my fan backwards and my tcb switch was not in place. I snapped at Kekoa told him I paid $1369 for this service you Guys should be ASHAMED ........ BIG ISLAND TOYOTA IS A FAILURE & WILL NOT EVER RECOMMEND YOU LAMES

Incredibly poor customer service!I contacted the service department to schedule an appointment. I asked the representative for an estimated price of service and she stated everyone was trying to get off work. I called in 45 minutes before they closed and it should have taken no more than a few minutes to schedule me. Without any explanation she put me on hold for voicemail. I absolutely do not recommend Big Island Toyota service department due to how badly they treat their customers.

Sent my daughter down to have her first service on a new car she bought. Her appointment was at 2 pm, but only now, 2 hours later, they are starting their service. This is Hilo Toyota. Very, very sad and unprofessional how they deal with their clients.

People only talk to you if youre going to buy a car. The dealer carries limited and only select models. Not much choice in colors either. The sales guy and sales manager will not give you a good deal and since there is no other Toyota competition they know they dont need to. The people in Hilo are held hostage and I feel sorry for them. Not recommended.

Service Department will rip off you. Charge two times more parts and labor than regular auto repair shop. Very expensive.Dont go.

Easy online scheduling. Friendly service and I didnt feel pressure to make any extra expensive repairs like some mainland dealerships will try. Inexpensive -- $60 oil change on a 6 cylinder Lexus.

Friendly but i went in to have the maintenance required light shut off and to investigate a noise. Charged $160 to drive the car around tell me what the problem was and didnt even reset the maintenance required light. Disappointed to say the least. Obviously, this is a dealership so it shouldnt come as a surprise but they charge 2-3 times what any other establishment would. I wouldnt go there again if i didnt absolutely have to.

Repair service is average. Like all Car Dealerships Ive gone to in there past, and many chain care repair shops, plan to leave your car there all day. The repair may take an hour and no place ever had the car finished within the projected time.

Best Option I know for Hilo Town.

Very poor service. rip-off artists. they could not give me the voltages for the hybrid battery but said it was bad? they said the transmission, hybrid battery and computer all failed at the same time. no detailed report for $250. I find it highly unlikely that all 3 things failed at the same time.

Lesley who helped us was super amazing. I would and probably will work with her again. One of the best experiences I have had buying cars. The customer service here is usually par, which is why I drive from Waikoloa to Hilo and avoid the Kona Toyota. I set my appointments online and they offer a courtesy shuttle to take you anywhere in Hilo. I came in recently for 3 windshield wiper replacements and for them to check my trunk lock-$180 a steep price but its my only option.

We bought a used car as is after a test drive showed no problems. Warranties are very expensive, so we decided to go without. I have waited two months to post this review to be sure we got a good car. I credit Shayla, the salesperson, with putting us at ease about the condition of the car, she said BIT checks out all of their used cars and fixes major problems before selling them. No guarantee, but a reason to trust. Shayla was great. Ask for her if you go to buy a used car.

Buy a car from Bob Holcomb! He is knowledgeable about his vehicles and will point you in the right direction. The actual purchase was handled mostly through text and phone. Very convenient for me to come in after work and sign. No pressure sales and no hassles. Oh and yes, the Camry Hybrid not only looks great but is a powerful and comfortable ride!

What a smooth experience. I’ve bought a lot of cars over the years but this was the best. I never felt pressured. The salesman Dana was awesome. Totally honest and low key. Truthful about all the details. The sales manager was also cool and truthful and last but not least the finance manager “John” was very nice and never pressured me to add on a bunch of extras. Just picked up my long awaited 2020 RAV4 XSE and am loving everything about it! Bob was my sales guy and he did a great job making it all happen. If youre looking for a new Toyota, go see Bob. This was a special order with an almost 6 month wait time which is pretty standard for ordering Toyotas with the exact specifications you want. The vehicle comes all the way from Japan. The purchase process was smooth, with minimal waiting. I took the RAV straight to the tint shop and Bob gave me a ride from there. Will definitely do business again. I’ve bought five cars in my life from different car dealerships. This was by far the easiest purchase! They didn’t give me a run around. I researched prices before I went and they literally gave me the best price straight off the bat with no hassle. Kamu is the best sales person (I wouldn’t go to anyone else!). He’s super honest and upfront. There was no running back and forth from the sales manager to us and back again and over and over. The sales manager came out and everything was transparent.After a nightmare experience at Subaru the month before I was more than impressed with the level of honesty and professionalism. Loved our experience and would definitely recommend them and will be buying from them again!

Purchased car here and a service package. Experience was great. However when I bring my car in for services, I am never able to use the shuttle. I am a told the shuttle will arrive at a given time, I see the shuttle arrive and I see the shuttle pull to the side. Yet it never has passengers and I am told they are on a break. This usually lasts over an hour. So while they say there is a complimentary shuttle service, to my experience there is not. This has happened 3-4 times already, the small waiting area is usually over crowded and with could now only 3 people are allowed in. Which means I had to stand under a cloudless sky for almost 2 hours. The 2 people at the check in counter just made an indifferent comment but offered no answer or service and continued their personal conversation.

So I actually live in Santa Cruz, California. My Toyota 86 was having some basic lighting issues and it was after hours on the west coast. However a google search showed a big Island Toyota was still open and lucky the very knowledgeable and polite staff was able to answer my question and provide some useful information. I got work early tomorrow so Waking up to a potential dead battery would have been terrible. Luckily they staff helped me out. To huge thanks to Big Island Toyota for helping a customer over the phone literally an ocean away!

6 weeks, 3 tows ($1000+), and over $2500 spent on labor and parts, and my Lexus still cannot be made to start reliably by their service department due to immobilizer issues. Last communication almost two weeks ago they suggested I tow my car somewhere else at my own expense to be fixed. No talk of a refund of money wasted on them. I have written off the car off as a total loss. These people do not answer phones or communicate. You can do business with them if you like; it is a free country.

This deal was a long time coming for me, as I had set a goal to get a new truck early last year, but financial challenges prevented me from following through. I worked with Dennis throughout that process and when it had to be postponed, he was so helpful and stayed in touch, and when I was ready, he guided me through the whole process with courtesy, an easy manner, and prompt attention to detail, as well as having genuine Aloha. I get my oil change and maintenance done here every 5 miles, typically the visits are short and I dont have to wait a long time. Their waiting rooms have charging stations for your phone and wifi I think. The people that greet and assist me are always upbeat and nice. Had to get a recalled part replaced once and it took like 4 hours though, so that wasnt fun. Also its near impossible to get a hold of someone via telephone if you want to call to make an appointment, best to have a account on their website and make your appointment there.

Since moving to the Big Island in Dec. 2019 (after servicing my Prius V on Maui at the Toyota dealership since 2014) I have found Big Island Toyota service department to be friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Bryce Nishihara & Monique are super nice and honest. You can make a service appointment online easily (sometimes the very next day) and the experience is very pandemic ready 😷 with hand sanitizers, staff in masks & social distancing. Get you car serviced here, you won’t regret it. Worth the extra cost.

For my other 2 vehicles we shopped at all the popular used dealerships and most took one look at us and either ignored us or discouraged us from buying.
