I have been driving cars made by Honda for 20 years. From Big Island Honda to Tony Honda, I especially love the service department. The greeter and the advisers are always courteous and helpful. Today (9/17/21), I brought my car in for a very minor issue. The service manager, Garret, extended his extreme sincere and caring service to me. He drove my car to the shop to make sure everything was right. Meanwhile, I got to chat with the friendly salesman, Steve, having a pleasant conversation at ease in the showroom. By no time, Garret drove my car out and patiently taught me how to reset the information. I enjoyed and appreciated my unarranged visit to the dealership. Glad to be a Honda lover in Hilo.

If you go to Tony Honda Hilo... you ask for Jade. Her Customer Service, patience, and knowledge of the 2... yes 2 Brand New Hondas she sold us is exceptional! With the help of Mark, their Finance Manager(?), both transactions went smoothly. She even volunteered to drive 100 miles to Kona so I could test drive a new Honda that was just offloaded there. The service department at Tony Honda Hilo never disappoints. I have always felt I could trust the service team, from the scheduler who is always so accommodating, to the person who courteously greets you at the service center, to my service advisor who clearly explains the services that will be covered, to the mechanic who performs a thorough diagnostic on my vehicle, to the young man who does a good job washing my vehicle and to the prompt shuttle service technician. I always share my positive experiences with my family and friends and they are also impressed by what they hear. This year my sister who has always been a loyal Toyota customer chose to switch and bought a new 2021 Honda CRV and I know she is very happy with her decision. Perhaps, she was swayed by my positive experiences with the Tony Honda team? 😊

I took my HR-V in for a recall repair, and I received very courteous treatment from everyone. The mechanics did a wonderful job on my Honda - both the recall repair and the Quantum service. Everyone went out of his way to treat me well and keep me informed of the progress on my vehicle.The repairs took time, but it was well worth the wait. My Honda looks and drives like a new vehicle, and I am grateful to all involved. The mechanics went above and beyond the call of duty to help me, and I appreciate it.

Every interaction with the service department has exceeded my expectations. Lori, in particular, is diligent about details and ultra caring. I was scheduled to bring my Fit in to check possible uneven brake pad wear, but she called me the night before having apparently scrutinized the service report and told me that actually the pads were wearing evenly, so there was no need to come in! Ive never met anyone more dedicated than Lori!!

I had an 8:30 appointment with the Service Dept to have my Honda Fit drive shaft inspected as a recall initiative. Glen my service attendant immediately came up to me, explained how theyd be doing the inspection and why there was about two hours of service time required - really nicely set my expectations ;)When the work was finished he both paged and called me as I had gone shopping. Turned out my drive shift was just fine; and also got a nice written report on the findings. The car also had been wonderfully washed as an extra free service. Id highly recommend Glen and Hilo Honda.

Ive only had great experiences working with the staff at Tony Honda in Hilo. Glen was our service agent and he was great! Very friendly and welcoming, he made conversation during transactions and answered any question I had. My Honda was way overdue for some servicing and I was apprehensive about taking it in because of it. You know how it is, sometimes people in customer service make you feel bad about stuff like that but not Glen or the team there, they were awesome. Shout out to Alvin as well for friendly and professional service in shuttling my car to and from the dealership.

Clint is an amazing asset to Tony Honda Hilo! He worked extra hard to make sure my extended warranty would cover my transmission which went out on my Honda fit at 68k miles. We were greeted after we pulled in, and asked us how they could assist us. I can also compare this to another dealership as we had two service appointments for two dealerships on the same day (at the other one, we were ignored for almost 10 minutes by the four workers at the counter.). Glen from Honda kept me updated on the service of vehicle and any problems encountered. Although it is expensive, I hope it is quality work and I loved the complimentary car wash also.

Lori, Service Department Associate, patiently took my concerns regarding my 2019 Odyssey on Friday and van got cheked out on following Monday.She followed up with issues for technician and clarified that that is what I meant. Lori reviewed the completed areas of concern on the van when I came back 4 hours later. The team was on task and efficient.I aprreciate having the shuttle service as well as the friendly driver, Alvin.I felt safe, comfortable, and protected being driven to my home.

I had the pleasure of taking our Honda CRV, into Tony Honda Hilo, for a regular oil change, tire rotation, and complete overall service checkup today. The experience there, from the minute I arrived, to the minute I departed, far exceeded the service I have ever received anywhere!!The Service Manager, Lori Taylor, is a Customer Service Representative that can never be outdone! There is service, good service, excellent service, and fabulous service of which goes hand in hand with Lori!! I have never been treated, as a customer, the way Lori takes care of me, and I am sure of everyone!! She is the epitome of fabulous Customer Service!!! When that woman goes to retire, Tony Honda will never be able to replace her with another that can compare!!My mechanic, Elmer Guillermo, is the ONLY mechanic I allow to work on our CRV, or any other vehicle I own! That man is wonderful at being a Top Notch quality mechanic, and a great person at heart! He is a man that can be fully trusted to do the work required in a way that you never need to worry about the quality of care your vehicle received!! When that man goes to retire, Tony Honda is in a World of trouble!So, in conclusion, my experience at Tony Honda Hilo, today and in the past, is one of exceptional quality and care! Called Tuesday morning at 8:30am to schedule service on our 2016 Honda HRV. No one answered. I left a message on voice mail describing the needed service and left a callback number. I am in their system as HRV was purchased at the Hilo location. After 72 hours with no return call, the HRV is going to another shop for service. Never had these issues before Tony Honda purchased Big Island Honda from the Fletcher Jones group. Disappointed in the lack of customer service.

I was very disappointed that after we had completed our purchase deal, I was told that I would receive only one key (keyless entry/start) for the vehicle. It is now going to cost me $561.35 to get a second key for my car. I felt that it was unfair that I was not told about getting only one key prior to agreeing to a price. When I pointed this out to them, I was told, We cannot compensate you any further because we already gave you a great deal upfront. I dont feel that not disclosing this added cost to me was such a great deal.

When I took the car for a test drive I did put on my seatbelt, drove the speed limit, look both ways, signal my turns and drove safely on the road. I also had a permit and a decent amount of down payment. Then after they made me sign a contract and then came back to tell me sorry I cant have the car yet. Walking off the car lot disappointed with no car. After they said they were going to help me to where I can make monthly payments. Promised me a car. Tony Honda is by far the worse car dealership. Horrible customer service. I know what Im talking about. Do not trust Tony Honda at all. Their liers and scammers.

If you buy a used car from here they will absolutely gouge you and if anything goes wrong they will not help. Charged a grandma way too much for a car, which proceeded to break and need a new engine within a year! All this because they failed to diagnose the problem even though she brought it in multiple times, then told her they wont cover it because she drove with the problem. Yeah, she drove it because YOU said it was fine and couldnt find anything wrong. After multiple attempts taking it in she finally took it to another mechanic who diagnosed it within an hour, but it was too late and needed an engine rebuild all for a head gasket that YOU wouldnt diagnose or fix. I will never shop here and I suggest others do careful research when purchasing a used vehicle from these people.

I was on my way home and remembered that the icon showing something off with the tires was lit up so I thought Id take a chance and stop by the Honda dealer and see if they could check it out or schedule an appointment for me. I pulled my car up and two people came up and asked if they could help me and I explained my problem and that I did need to make an appointment to get my oil changed. They asked if I had time today to have things done, they said they could run me home and pick me back up or I could wait in the lobby and have a cool drink or coffee! I sat down and talked to Clint who is in charge of my car maintenance file and he said it would be about an hour if I wanted to wait. So less than an hour later I was back in talking to Clint and he explained to me all the things that they had checked on my car all the things that came back great and a few things I needed to be planning for in the future and it felt good leaving with the knowledge that my CR-Vs health is in good hands! AND THEY WASHED MY CAR FOR FREE!

I was very happy with the sales department. Bought a new HRV 2020 for cash. Then i has my wife take in for 3000 mile service. Tony Honda has NO free first service. And when wide and 82 yr old arrived i got a call to buy from Tony Honda a three time service contract. I agreed and asked invoice be sent. As a dr i went to work and then received frantic call that wife and 82 old with Alzheimers were not being allowed to leave UNTIL i paid invoice that was sent but not received. Two hours!! I paid $24000 cash and they held my family hostage for over an hour. During Covid!!Im still angry. $24000 vs a $60 first service? You decide.Managers response was to give me one EXTRA service. Hilo Honda service was exceptional. The guys are very thorough, professional, respectful and kind. My toddler and I were at the Hilo library while our car was being maintained but Hilo Honda went out of their way to cater to us. Since my toddler cant ride in the shuttle without her car seat, the guys from Hilo Honda brought our car to us at the library. They also called me about recommendations on the stuff that needed to be done on my car, let me know the prices to do them and they are very prompt. My family is very happy with the service Big Island Honda Hilo has provided us. One reason why I love Honda because of the exceptional customer service this particular Location has. The salesman are very nice people but Also very DISHONEST about the used vehicles they sell... a ex worker of theirs told me to watch out cause they sell broken vehicles.. I never thought anything about it and just thought he left the company on bad terms! 6 months after buying the vehicle we noticed a big problem that even mechanics said that the dealership would have definitely known.. and of course the warranty does not cover .. now a year later I’m paying thousands of dollars to repair..and this vehicle is a 2016... just from this experience alone .. I will not return there!

Big Island Honda wont stand behind their used vehicles. As is assumes that there will be things that can break down over time. But if within 6,000 miles of leaving the lot the transmission fails (5K), an electrical problem occurs (1K) and a bunch of little things like battery fails, parking brake fails, AC stops working and dash lights go on then then the car must have been jury rigged to run before it left the lot. Im sure they were laughing at me as I left. In my opinion they stole 18K from me and did it with a smile on their faces. After calling lawyers, I think I have a valid fraud case but it would cost about as much to pursue it as it would to get my money back. Better to just to walk away.Im walking away from Big Island Honda. I recommend you never set foot on their lot in the first place. It will save you time, money and embarrassment. :(

Ever since I purchased my2016 Nissan from Big Island Honda Hilo, Michael Neal stayed in contact with me and called at least once a month. He called to check on how I was doing and I remembered I had to bring my car into service. He managed to set my appointment up and when I brought my car in Mahealani greeted me and took my car to be worked on. I Waited in the waiting room and Mike came to visit me and say hello. Sebastian Raymond was very helpful in assisting us in our decision on purchasing the CR-V. Had done some research prior to going to the dealership, so he was aware of the features I was looking for. The test drive was great! Also, when we decided to purchase or rather lease the car, he figured out the payment plan with and without the resale value of my Toyota Highlander as a trade in. Donovan also helped convince us that the lease option was a good thing.So far, I am enjoying driving the CR-V and am studying the Owners Manual. Sebastian went over a checklist of the features of the car; however, we had to leave, so I may have to go back if I need more help. WORST USED CAR SALESMAN MENTALITY EVER!!! I wish there was a way to give this place no stars. The more I tell my story to others on the Island, I hear similar stories over and over. My father just moved to Kona and we found a car we wanted to purchase on a thursday. Donovan in Hilo (who is a manager) called me friday morning and upsold us on a more expensive car - he said he would feel much better having his Dad or Mom in this car. We were excited and he offered a good deal, so we planned to purchase it and said wed be there the next day (saturday). He said he would hold the car for us and knew that we were driving from Kona to Hilo. Once we got to Waimea, I called to let Donovan know wed be there in an hour or so and got his voicemail. We showed up and the car had been sold by another managers salesperson. He said that someone they thought was me (but was really a guy named Jerry), called and changed my appointment to monday. For whatever reason, he said another salesperson decided it was OK to sell the car to someone else because of this. Thats almost 5 hours of a wasted day and leaving empty handed. Donovan assured me he would do his best to help us find another car at either the Kona dealership or through relationships with other dealers and call me back on tuesday (yesterday). Big surprise, that never happened.
