Steven at extra space was very friendly and easy to deal with. I have rented multiple times from this location and most recently rented 3 large units during my move. Pricing was fair, the staff was always available when I had questions and the units were in good condition. I never had any concerns of my safety while on premise, at any time of day. Will rent from this location again if the need arises.

I have rented space at the Florence location for the past few years. When I recently purchased a new home, I no longer needed the storage unit. However, if anyone needs to rent space in the area, I would highly recommend Extra Space Storage. The customer service was great, my unit was clean, dry, and secure.

Getting a storage space here was quick and painless. It took less than ten minutes. Staff was very polite, and upon entering my shed for the first time it was very clean and orderly.

Clean units, could be a little more spaced out as “Iles” are concerned. Hard to maneuver a vehicle in and out of units. Luckily i was able to get a transfer into a new unit. Other than that, the only other thing that could be improved upon is contacting an agent or actually having someone on site to speak to.

After two months of preparation for an upcoming move, on moving day discovered that I fell victim to a moving scam. The moving company no showed on both agreed days, and I was out a substantial amount of money from a deposit I made with a moving broker. Running out of options and time, I began calling storage locations to at least lock down a storage unit to store my items. I called Extra Space Storage and was connected with Steven who is a member of the management team. Steven was extremely helpful, patient, and showed compassion when learning about my moving situation. Steven gave me options on several available storage units in two Florence locations, and even stayed on the line while I drove to both locations to see which unit would be best to store my personal belongings. While assisting me with pricing and reserving a storage unit, Steven also gave me several reputable moving companies that he recommended as possible alternatives to move my belongings on desperate and short notice. I was able to get in contact with S Hedger moving, who became immediately available, and moved my own properly and efficiently to the storage unit within two hours. Steven is a true asset to Extra Space Storage, and I cannot truly express how grateful I am for all that he did to assist in my move. Ive been here a few years and a couple new owners have come and gone. Unfortunately they are raising the price every few months and Im going to have to move out. Honestly its cheaper to buy a second house and make a payment than it is to have this 10x40 unit at $400 a month. Also no cameras on the property except their office area and the gate. My unit has been broken into twice in the last 2 years so its not a safe place anymore. They office insurance at a premium but how do you put a price on things left to you by passed family.

They people I spoke with were able to help me very well. I am in a unique situation where I didn’t need to have my unit for over a month and they were able to help me get the cheapest price I’ve seen compared to their competitors. Great service!

Service at ESS has always been professional and helpful. They are attentive and courteous in their business matters. Building is clean and comfortable. We have two sheds with them and are very pleased with their facilities. Not happy about their price raises FOR THE SAME SHED(S), but maybe thats for employee raises :)

Renting from this Extra Space Storage in Florence, KY has been a fantastic experience. They answer their phone and take care of things quickly. The staff are incredibly professional, yet also friendly, upbeat, and considerate of their customers. They treat people with 100% respect. Ive had my current storage unit with them for about 2 years. They always have great move-in prices, and my rent has remained the same and way less expensive than my last storage company.Also Extra Space Storage keeps a clean office and units, including grounds. I like renting at a nice place, and this one is nice. One thing I appreciate is the facilitys required unit-lock purchase. It is not much of a cost, however, its one of those small insertion locks and impossible to break and easy to open and close. My 4 year old loves opening the lock for me every time. He also likes the mystery of storage treasures., so its always an adventure.Extra Space Storage entrance gates are huge, very secure and easy to access in and out. I have never had any entrance or exiting issues and the equipment is properly maintained. Kudos to the whole Team!

Finding Extra Space Storage was like finding a gold mine! I was completely sold when I found out there were storage spaces available that were “inside” and “climate controlled.” This was exactly what I had been looking for and was unable to find when researching other facilities. Upon arrival the storage spaces were very clean. The grounds at the facility were also very clean and well kept.The other selling point was the wonderful rapport I had when working with Hannah and Cassidy. Wow! The employees are friendly. They always give a call when time for payment. The storage areas are kept up. I rent a 10x30 and it was plenty big enough for a 3 bedroom house a a basement. This will always be my storage place to go.

Worse experience ever, had to pay in advance before even showing me the space I was getting, and to my surprise when I open the storage door it was flooded with water and snow, and now they want to charge extra just for moving me to another space and I didn’t even put nothing in the storage place I just paid for the other option stay there and lose all my personal belongings because they even don’t know if the expensive insurance they make me paid Cover if it get flooded again, I lose my money with this trickery business, they where to busy to even go and look the flooded space

I visit my storage unit a few times a year, in the five years I’ve stored my items there, due to the fact I travel a lot for work. I’ve enjoyed being at this location because I feel that my personal items are secure and safe. I’m at ease knowing the gate requires a code and the security cameras are always working. I’ve only had a few face to face conversations with the staff eam and all have been very professional. If I ever have a question, day or night, I’m always able to reach someone from this location or the 1-800 center.Today, while moving around and pulling a few items out of my unit, I left my my radio on with my vehicle turned off. When it was time to go and complete my other errands, my vehicle wouldn’t start. Not having anyone around, none of my friends were available and not having my jumper cables, I realized I was stuck or would need to call a profession, which would cost me money. I began to walk in the direction of the entrance gate.Moments later I ran into Brett on the golf cart. He stopped what he was doing to help and accommodate me.Brett wasn’t judgmental, rude or even made me feel like I was wasting his time as he was jumping my vehicle.I am very appreciative of his actions, assistance and his professionalism. If it was not for Brett, I would’ve been there, stuck and alone, a little longer than I needed or wanted to be.Thank you Brett for helping me this morning and not making feel like a total fool for what I aloud to happened (unknowingly).

Helpful workers who will work with you when payments are delayed. Also very cool about helping you know what you need to do to uphold your end and keep your stuff safe. Very well protected so theres really no risk to your items. The staff is very easy going but professional.Would, and have, recommended to family and friends in the area. We are continuing to use them to this day, because of the service, staff, safety, and quality. Should we ever need storage again when moving again, we would absolutely use them again.

Cassidy went above and beyond to help my mother yesterday. Even after they closed she was willing to stay and make sure we were able to get access to her unit. Moms not been in there for several years and the lock was rusted, she cut off old lock and was able to get us a new one.

I see lots of reviews talking about how great this Matt guy was. I had to deal with him after two months of having a unit and he didnt know a d*** thing about how to help me. If not for Brett stepping in, Id have had to give them 3 stars. But Brett was great and the place is well maintained and the prices are ok.

The unit itself is a good quality. The property is safe and have had no issues in the last 3 years. If these are your only concerns then you can rest easy.The problem, however, is price. The price starts out great, as most reviews will correctly lead you to believe. However, Extra Space Storage will then start hiking up rates at an alarming pace. I went from $51 to $110 in 3 years. That’s unacceptable.What makes matters worse is that the (now retired) CEO has stated on the earnings calls that they raise the price just to create shareholder growth, acknowledging the fact that they can freely raise prices by $15 here and there because nobody would go trough the trouble of moving all their stuff somewhere else for just $15. Statements like that make me a little uncomfortable.So no. Maintenance costs are not the cause of rates consistently being hiked. It’s the need for growth and better margins. Extra Space Storage is a publically-traded company, so you can see their revenue/earnings at any time, revealing that their operating costs haven’t really gone up much at all, but their revenue sure has.All-in-all; good storage units, friendly staff, poor upper management from a consumer standpoint. I will not go back because the price becomes outrageous over time.
