I have used Extra Space for almost a year now. Dock space limited at times, especially on weekends... but this is true of many storage places. The real shining star to this location ( rt 22 union, nj) is the manager, Darren. He is always friendly and greets you (by name! he remembers just about everyone) with a smile and a wave. I am constantly moving stuff between my units and always seem him making rounds to check the building and making sure everything is in working order. Thank you Darren and Extra Space!

Everything about our storage unit, and the facility in general, is great except for the lighting inside the unit itself. Bring lights with you if you want to see anything inside the unit.

***UPDATE ON 11.05.2021******My rental rate has now almost doubled from double digits (90+) to triple digits (180+) without any notification or documentation advising me of this change. As I would look for better,, safer,, and cleaner facilites. The facility everytime I am there is absolutely disgusting. (I go once every other month unless items needed n added). Trash scattered throughout the garage area most visits. I understand that the trash receptacle is not accessible during weekends and has a bar and lock on it. Some sort of trash location should be set up then. Especially with COVID concerns, no access to dispose of items let alone there is no bathrooms accessible to those who visit. Ive seen bottles of what looks like urine left behind.Documents are just automatically signed on my behalf (with my electronic signature that should not be saved for use whenever your facility decides to sign in my behalf) without even my acknowledgement after having 1 discussion about an increase i received not even full 4 months after i signed contact for my unit. Then I was told I will receive increase in about 9-10months. Seems very shady! So basically it seems like there will be 2 increases on my current unit in less than a year of each one.

My signing up experience was very Easy and Fast!! Jordan is the BEST to say the least! He made the process enjoyable considering I had a three-year-old sleeping child in my arms. Lol! I would Definitely recommend Extra Space Storage, Union NJ.

Great storage facility in the area and helpful staff. Darren, the store manager, and the young woman working in the office are very professional and go above and beyond to make sure the customer has a great experience. We ended up needing a second unit and Darren helped find another unit close by our first and reasonably priced. The location is very convenient, climate controlled and secure - we don’t worry about the security of our belongings. COVID protocols are good. Prices are higher than other regions (compared to say NC) but competitive for NJ. Be Advised: there were new small units recently added in the dock area limiting how many renters can unload large items on the dock at a time. I find that to be a disadvantage for the facility as it will have an impact for customers during busy times. I did not give fewer stars because of it as we’ve yet to be affected. Just pointing out the new change so that future storage renters are aware and can plan accordingly.

Darren took such good care of us! We were in a tight spot, our lease was up at our apartment and we were not able to move into our new house yet. We have a small unit at Extra Space and we called Darren to move our entire apartment into new bigger unit. He hooked us up quickly and at an affordable rate. Really pleased with him and this facility. It is always clean and at a really convenient location.

Awesome service from Darren and Shakia. I went to other storage places and didnt get decent customer service. He walked me to the different size units instead of telling me to look online for the sizes. Sometimes you have to have a visual to see what you need. They now have my service and their prices were alot better for what I needed.

Today I arrived at the Extra Space Storage in Union and was greeted by Jordan. Jordan did such a wonderful job walking me through the entire process. From making sure I knew exactly where my locker was to coming with me to make sure my code worked. He also showed me how to operate the gate system which definitely save me so much time moving my stuff in. I wasnt sure if my unit was going to be big enough; Jordan talked to me about how much stuff I had and if it wasnt enough then we could always upgrade with ease. While Jordan was putting my information into the system, he continue to let the conversation flow effortlessly while answering any questions I had. This was my first time renting a storage unit and I wasnt sure how I felt about it. However, if all employees are like Jordan, Extra Space Storage just gained a lifetime customer. Truly appreciate good customer service!

Jordan Williams is the best employee ever, literally he had 2 minutes left before he was to close and go home(not only could I hear his stomach growling because he was so hungry) He stated that he had been here all day without eating, yet and still he helped me with patience. He took his time finding us in the system (that wasnt working to good) with a huge smile. He made general conversation as if he had all day. He waited until everything was good with us and he politely excused himself. Excellent customer service. Kudos Jordan!!!

This is a great storage facility! I sell surgical equipment and work out of my car/storage unit. The facility is temperature controlled and clean. The location is great; allowing me to quickly get in and out.Krystal the manager is super nice and always helpful. It makes me feel good knowing my work supplies are secure and safe.

Nice atmosphere . After being with them for almost 3 years this is a really good place to store your items. The storage units are very large, clean and do not contain any mold. The staff is very friendly and there are a lot of items For you to buy in case you are moving. The dollies are always available and your personalize code gives you a nice sense of security. It may not necessarily be the cheapest place but you get what you pay for. Thumbs up!

I walked in and told her what I needed to store and she told me right away the size space I needed. This was the fastest service I ever received when walking into a storage facility. Quick, thorough, easy to setup! Storage area clean. Clear, concise direction.

If you have a box truck you need to be guided in the storage facility & Backed into dock. ... there is a sudden turn that you may not be aware of and it could cause someone to rear end you .....I see a lot of damage to facility from rookies driving rental trucks. Backing into the loading dock is a very narrow opening and your rear view mirrors must be tucked in on all rental trucks ....Staff is Nice. If you need insured moving Labor and or a rental truck driver call us. My partner and I loaded a 26-foot truck in 3 hours yesterday. Call toll-free for labor rates we have our own vehicles and can follow you anywhere!
