This place is an oasis in a market now dominated by big box music stores. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable whether youre a pro or a student, plus they are easy going and genuinely care about your business. They have an amazing collection of instruments both used and new, a huge selection of accessories, and their repair facility is among the best in the business. I cant say enough good things about Rusty, Georgia, Bryan, and all the staff.

If youre a woodwind or brass player, theres no better place to go for rebuilds, repairs & accessories.Their team is very seasoned & personally, I wouldnt take my horns to anyone else!

I have been doing business with LBWW&B for some four or more years, and I have NEVER been disappointed by their advice, products, or service. On the advice of the owner Rusty Higgins, I bought a previously - owned, wood clarinet. I have never enjoyed playing clarinet as much as I do now. Five stars, excellent service! After three attempts and a lot of money to some other people whose repairs left my daughters clarinet unplayable (claiming it was my daughters beginning clarinet skills that the low notes still would not play), I came to Long Beach Woodwinds for help. With 10 minutes and a very small fee, Long Beach Woodwinds made three adjustments and the clarinet now plays perfectly. This is the only place we will ever go for future instrument repairs, even though it is a bit of a drive for us. They definitely know their stuff.

We had the pleasure to meet the owners Rusty and Georgia when we came yesterday looking for a tenor sax for my daughter. She joined a HS marching band and the sax we rented from another store was just horrible. Georgia and Rusty let us test the instruments, get a feel for each one of them and Rusty even played each one of the 3 instruments himself so we can hear the difference from a professional-stand point. We didnt feel pressured or rushed into making a decision and we walked out with a nice gently used Chateau which my daughter was ecstatic about.

I originally posted this review on Yelp, as I found Long Beach Woodwinds from a search on that app, but wanted to also post this on Google for those using Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions to the store.Long Beach Woodwinds and Brass is an exceptional music store and repair shop. I feel that they are a very important resource for the community that should be supported. Online and big-box stores may offer a slight price advantage on some items but they can’t offer a full-service shop like this place.We went there to have my son’s saxophones – a tenor and an alto, looked at and possibly repaired. His primary instrument, the tenor sax, needed to have the neck piece recorked. We also brought the alto to get a quote on repairing a link on one of the keys.Bryan assessed the tenor sax and gave us an affordable price to replace the cork, fix some leaks, and straighten something, all within an hours’ time. Done! With the alto, Edgar also gave us a very reasonable estimate but we decided against having the repair performed as this was not my son’s primary instrument and my son felt that he could wait. There was not one moment during our conversation that I felt any pressure to proceed with any of the repairs. They were very open and transparent. I want to convey this, especially to other parents, because I feel it is a very important distinction to share.We chose to stay at the store and wait for the repair to be completed, because the store is truly a “candy” store for a woodwind and brass instrument player. Blake, the front-of-store salesperson/musician, is so easygoing and likeable. He shared all his knowledge with us and he never made us feel that we were obliged to buy anything.I am very grateful to have a music resource in the community. We must thank Bryan and Edgar with my son’s repair and Blake for the positive shopping experience. They made us feel welcome and treated us very well.

I came yesterday to buy a flute and they were so patient with me! They let me test out the ones I was interested in and I found a great fit for an affordable price. I highly recommend coming here.

Anyone looking for lessons should come here ESPECIALLY FOR LESSONS (Im currently taking lessons) rusty is really really good at what he does his store is awesome and has almost everything (everything between woodwinds) and is great I recommend taking lessons if you really like to improve cause i know I have!
