Great customer service...went to buy a guitar, and we were helped by a most professional and knowledgeable guy. Dee knew all the answers to all the questions and helped us make a valid decision on what to buy and how it all worked together. Great store experience.

Why would you shop here? This is by far the worst place to buy, sell, repair or breathe (always smells like a fish tank). Super unprofessional staff it’s laughable. If you’re looking for quality guitars of any kind go to Elderly instruments in Lansing, if you’re looking for drums of any kind, go to music instruments swap in Pottervile. This place is crustier than a stale wheat bread.

Very helpful staff... I believe his name was Dee. Wanted to give me the best customer service possible... the only reason I didnt give five stars is because I always think companies have room for improvement. Although I have to say this guy went over and above expectations... He gets five stars.Great customer service well done!

Just bought the Bose L1 Tower and my god!!!! I was able to beatbox on it before buying it and I sounded 🔥🔥 The customer service was amazing and Im so happy with my purchase! Cant wait to get to performing.

Bought my first acoustic guitar here and was helped by a man that had longer dark hair. I had an issue with the strap latch and came back, they fixed it free of charge. That was great! I also was looking at getting an electric and the same man helped demo and test out different amps and explained everything to me so well and so easily that I—someone who does not play electric—could understand. So helpful and friendly!

Its a normal Guitar Center. Wonderful staff as always, and plenty of guitars to try out. They even have pick for you to use! 10/10 store as always!

To say I had a poor experience would be a gross understatement. I will never purchase anything from any Guitar Center after this experience. I drove from Traverse City (3 hour drive) to pick up a Cordoba classical guitar for $850. I called ahead to ensure it was in the store, the employee put me on hold and went to see if they actually had the guitar. He said, “ yes, it’s here, along with a few others you may be interested in.” Made the drive to pick it up and found that it is scratch and dent!? He did NOT tell me that on the phone. The guitar is cracked, the lacquer was chipped in at least four places; this thing is in TERRIBLE condition. Their price? $769!? I showed the “manager” how poor the condition was and explained that this new guitar needs to be repaired by a luthier. He said, “Yeah, I could do $700”. Unbelievable. Of course I passed because it would be a minimum of $300 to repair the guitar. In an effort to salvage the trip, I decided to purchase a little Fender acoustic for my 8 year old son for $169. The manager rang me up after I explained that I had driven 3 hours to buy the cordoba only to find out that it had apparently been used as a bat, and he said “Yeah sorry, that’ll be $181 after tax”. Completely apathetic. I asked if he was going to offer any kind of discount on the little Fender as a nice gesture for our troubles, to which he simply laughed and started shaking his head. I told him on second thought, I’ll pass on the Fender too. He said, “thanks for coming in” and turned around. Shameful. Please spend your money with an actual music store and let this store die.

I stopped in to buy a guitar. The store had just opened so were the only shoppers. I was greeted and told another man would be right with me. I waited a long while, but he never came. He was busy doing something clerical. We left and bought a $1,300 guitar from Playford music in Jackson.

Warranty, price adjustments and return policy sucks.....fast talkers leave out important time frame details !!

Employee was poorly trained and ran my credit several times. Each time making a check and knocking down credit. As a sorry I got a whole $5 off. Incredibly unprofessional dont see myself walking through these doors anytime in the future.

One of my favorite music places to go :) went here a couple years ago to buy an acoustic guitar and was very nervous because i knew absolutely nothing, but the employees there were very helpful and were not condescending at all. today i went to buy an electric guitar and worked with a lovely employee named Phil — he was extremely helpful and kind and made me feel very comfortable in the store :) i would definitely recommend this shop, i have had nothing but pleasant experiences here !

Great bunch of guys up there. Bought a guitar recently and had a problem with it. They had no problem returning it, of course they offered to help me find something else. Im still shopping but Ill definitely be back there regardless.

Very helpful, I unfortunately given my schedule this day had to be one of THOSE people who show up 20 minutes before close, but I knew what I wanted and they showed me the best products, my helpers name was Mary is what the reciept says and she was super nice and helped a lot. Had a good experience.

Probably the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. There were two staff working, neither of which acknowledged our presence even though we were the only ones in the store. When we approached a worker for help choosing a keyboard he didnt even look up at us. He asked if we had specific questions and when we said yes and moved toward the keyboards he didnt get up to help us at all. It was as if we didnt exist. We had planned to buy a new keyboard that night but decided wed rather buy it anywhere else.

Bare shelves, everything was dusty/dirty. Over priced used gear covered in dirt and stickers.My question is if these so called music retail stores dont have what you need and you have to order online anyway, and they give bottom dollar for virtually new used gear -so they arent rivaling pawn shops by any means- what is the point in having stores like this?

For a corporate store they are doing a pretty good job of making it feel local. Theyre selection is a bit less than normal right now but I found what I needed.

I had the Ceaser salad and it was phenomenal.

Had to order an out of stock item and the manager matched the on line price of a competition retailer. Saved me $10 from Guitar Centers price. Even though it took almost 2 weeks for delivery, it was still a decent deal.

Went there to look for a guitar for my daughter. Soon as we walked in the door we were stopped and asked about our mask. When we went into the store everything was roped off! Confusing arrows all over the floor For us to follow. The best part about this store was my daughter being able to check things out and see what she likes. Ended up being in there for about two minutes and left! Went to music manor and bought my daughter a guitar from them. Even during this pandemic music manor has customer service skills and you can normally browse the store. Guitar Center not so much!

Incredibly terrible service. Even though I was the only one in the store I felt like Bruce Willis in the sixth sense... that I was dead or invisible. I was planning on buying a new keyboard that night but it seemed like it would inconvenience them far too much to make a sale.

Fantastic. Ian spent a great deal of time demonstrating amplifiers and provided a great deal insight on the products available. The fact he is able to play both electric and acoustic guitars was very beneficial. I highly recommend this Guitar Center.

I used to enjoy going here, but now not so much. The staff treats you like youre an inconvenience if you ask them for help, and many of them dont know much about the products or offer to find someone that does. Ill still go in to mess around and play guitars Ive done my own research on, but Id never expect to get help from the team. Do your own research, go play it, then buy it from Sweetwater or something

Large store with tons of musical equipment the personal working there was very nice. They had extensive experience in music very easy to speak. They seemed to be low stressed which made the environment there ideal for me. I did enjoy being there and I did end up buying a new guitar for my son.

Thank you for saving me money. After having a very nice young man help with a used bass, one of your other employees came up and arrogantly demanded the bass back without even asking if I intended to purchase it. Hopefully that bass does not sit up on the wall due to a rude employee.

Ive had a couple of poor experiences related to customer service. The products and store itself are awesome as most GCs are, but for whatever reason the business practices of this specific location are just unnatural. Id rather drive to another location then to deal with the frustration of trying to buy from here.

Guitarcenter after putting a multitude of Mom and Pop music stores out of business has forgot that sales is what keeps them in business.

Ive bought other things from the store but this time they tried to charge over $7 (including taxes) for a simple 3.5mm to 1/4 jack adapter that costs around $3.50. Gave up on purchase and bought it next door at Marshall Music for $3.50 (including taxes) same brand.Someone needs to reevaluate prices at this store.

Friendly service, swag guitars

I have been shopping at this store ever since they’ve opened with no issues but my last 2 visits have not been very pleasant. Long waits at checkout first because an employee did not know how to handle a return and assistance was slow and now today a 5 minute wait with no cashier and being ignored by person in the office. I put down my items and walked out and will go elsewhere in the future.

Great selection of new and used equipment. Staff was very friendly. Prices were reasonable.

Amazing service

Consistently some of the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. No matter what youre doing, the employees cant seem to be bothered to assist. Ive struggled to carry an amp through the front door myself, with no one bother to open the door so I could enter the building. Ive stood at the checkout for 5 minutes, waiting for an employee that is idly strumming on a guitar behind the counter to stop playing and check me out. The employees clearly dont care about customer service at all. Consistently, they will acknowledge your presence, infer that you need to be assisted, and act like theyre too good to help you. How does a salesman watch someone trying to carry a half stack cab through a door while also trying to open a swinging door and watch the whole time, doing nothing to assist?

Not crazy about my customer service experience here. I called ahead for a product, the employee said they had it in stock and would be willing to set it aside for me- I gave my name and phone number. Awesome! However When I arrived the product had not been side aside and not only that, but all they had left is a floor model. Now, full price floor model would be fine, except AFTER I paid the employee said “the floor models get used and abused sometimes so if it doesn’t work you can return it” The return policy is a comfort, but full price for a product that “may be abused” and doesn’t come with any kind of case or box seems shifty. I feel all of that information should have been relayed over the phone when I had called hours beforehand. It is quite a drive for me and not a cheap product so I was put off by the whole experience.

Wonderful, helpful staff, always plenty of them too. Not the biggest guitar center in the world, you can tell they are a smaller store due to the selection of guitars. by saying that, I mean they have mostly lower spec guitars (not a bad thing for me). The big key to this place is that they have the Studios Facilities. Overall, one of the better guitar centers I have been to.

People there are so helpful! Always find what I am looking for and if we cant they always offer to look it up and get it ordered for us! Thanks so much Guitar Center! YOU GUYS ROCK!

Just grabbed Squier Strat an Ditto Looper about a month ago already put multiple Mods from G.C. got GraphTech Saddles, Super Slinky Strings an today got Fender Locking Tuners (Black) an Tex-Mex Pick Ups!!! Gonna take a WEEK to get Back but its worth It(Cant Wait). Guitar Staff Superr helpful on getting me going on my Guitar Journey.. Thks G.C...

Best selection and prices

We have gone there when my son has needed strings for his guitar and have good service. We did go in for him to see about getting an electric acoustic guitar for Christmas. They had one he liked and we got it. Found out on Christmas there was something wrong with it so we took it back. The manager and his staff were very helpful and exchanged it for the same one that had no problems. Would go back again.

Friendly staff. The repair man was nice and he did a good job restringing my guitars. Go there all time to look and check stuff out.

Cool store. Heard good things about the location. Attempted to purchase a mic and couldnt seem to get any help in doing so. Waited and left after 15 to 20 minutes as the product I required was locked in a cabinet.

If you need DJ equipment, a new pick for your guitar, or an odd wire for your equipment and cant find it on your own. The staff at Guitar Center will help you find it along with answering any questions you may have. You may have to wait just a few minutes while the staff is helping other customers, however the wait is worth it.

Needed to return something that definitively did not match its online description, and the staff kept saying “those descriptions are auto-generated,” as if that absolved GC of responsibility. I actually had to explain that these were the words off of which I based my purchase; still, they just kept repeating “those descriptions are auto-generated.” Mind-numbing.There’s a reason they have their reputation as the Wal-Mart of music stores.

Went in there today with about 1500 to spend on a guitar. Soon as I walked in I was told I had to be escorted around. The guy reminded twice. He was acting like a security guard I walked two feet away and he insisted I needed Someone in the back with me was a little rude about it. I walked out. Forget that place.

Yes the used product I got is very cool no doubt. Not to mention hard to find. I always feel belittled because I dont have the knowledge that most employees there have I just wish they could be a little more helpful.

It was pretty busy, but i got out of there quick.Lots of high end audio gear and electronics.The price on my bluetooth speaker was comparable with other online prices.

Id give it 4.5 stars. Its a great store with good staff. You cant find a lot of this stuff at a brick and mortar store these days. My only gripe was they were sold out of a lot of equipment and were lacking on samplers and synths

I love GC products, and have always shopped there for my gear. I recently bought a vintage guitar amp / head from GC, took it home and had some problems with it. I took it back to the store and they sent it out for repair. I’m guessing it probably cost as much to repair the vintage piece as what I paid for it, but they did it anyway. GC stands by their stuff. It took a while, four months, but was well worth it. Some vintage items are hard to find.Thanks!!!!

I get lost in this store. Great selection of guitars bith electric and acoustical. If you need musical gear or DJ equipment. Guitar Center has what you need. Never needed to go anywhere else. Been a musician nearly 50 years now and a DJ for over 20 years. Trust me. These guys can hook you up. Peace out, aka Toledo Sound Hound

Went in to get strap locks, and they only had 2 options available in the store, neither of which were the popular style that I prefer. Unfortunately, GC has slowly reduced their stock the last few years. I could only find 2 extended range guitars readily available, also. Hope they can step up their game soon so they can compete with stores like Sweetwater

3/31/19 - 2:35pm. Stand at the counter for 20 minutes with no acknowledgement. Finally get noticed to pay for my purchase and was informed that I couldnt buy it because it was on police hold. Oink Oink.... then snobbishly tells me to have a nice day. Avoid! If its not for sale, dont display it. Its to easy to shop online which is exactly what I did. Ive had other bad experiences with Guitar Center but this was it. Ill never do business there again!

I gave them one star because I had to. I found a nice guitar that I liked and was affordable. $499.99. I had the guitar at the counter and asked about the price, the person told me prices were firm. O.k. fair enough, could you throw in a case or gigbag? Best we can do is discount a gigbag. Really? You let $500 walk out the door over a cheapass gigbag. I just wanted to say Screw you guys.

I took my brand new guitar in to have the pickup covers swapped out and have a complete set up done on it. The pickup covers were swapped successfully but the setup was not completed to their standards. For instance, my guitar was not even close to being in tune - so how could they check the intonation? Furthermore, they did not polish the guitar or clean it. Moreover, when I got the guitar back there were all types of relatively deep scratches around the bridge (where I am guessing they clumsily tried to put new strings on.)To top it all off you can go to this store and have a bunch of staff standing around not doing anything but talking to you in a condescending way, then and only then, is this guitar center recommended.

It was very dirty, all the instruments I picked up looked like they had been handled by children after eating ice cream. Not a single associate asked if we needed help or ask any question at all for that matter. High profile sales were not represented well. A $2000+ diesel tube amp was sitting on the floor with two 6505+ amps on top in the corner. Almost walked past and didnt notice them at first. Gave 3 stars for the inventory alone. I was there on the opening night of this store and now an X amount of years later it is trending downward in my opinion but thats just my opinion.

Awesome store has everything musical you could ever want very professional employees. If you ever go talk to Mitch he can find you anything you need awesome experience.

They dont have all the finer brands but they are a brilliant store for novice to experienced intermediate players of all sorts. Definitely worth a visit!

Very helpful some things are pricey

I spent one hour in the acoustic guitar section. Not one associate approached me at any time during that hour to offer me assistance. I had $500 in my pocket and planned to spend it, but walked out without spending anything other than time there. I wont go back.

Nice employees who arent pushy if you tell them youre just looking. When I did decide I needed help they were kind and knowledgeable and cut me a deal for buying an extended warranty.

Great people and nice facility. Theres always lots to listen to with people practicing the various instruments.
