I recently had a fantastic experience with West Bikes! I live in Colorado and purchased a classic vintage steel road bike on an online bike forum. I started reaching out to bike shops in the Knoxville area near where the bike was located to see if I could find a place that would box and ship the bike for me. Several of the shops I reached out to seemed bothered to have to do it. West Bikes was the exact opposite. They worked with me and answered all my questions. Most importantly they understood the importance of packing it well due to its collectible nature and value. The bike was packed quickly and shipped out asap. It arrived in Colorado in perfect shape and was packed perfectly. I can not say enough about the job West Bikes did and I would recommend them to anyone looking for good service, especially if shipping a bike!Matt in Colorado

Service only. I was called to come in early for a bike fitting due to a cancelation. I got my boss to let me off early, drove a long way home to get my bike, then showed up on time. The guy who called me was right there working on a bike; we met just the day before. I said hello so he knew Id gotten there. I stood there for 30 min while he did nothing but ignore me. At 4:30 I walk out with my bike. Went to Fresh Market, thought maybe I was wrong and returned to make sure I had not made an error. The guy says oh my bad. No offer to make it right, nothing. Unbelievable.

I had a flat tire in my rear and a cracked front tire, both of which the staff noticed immediately. Since this was deemed an emergency situation, the repairs were performed pretty much immediately, and I was able to collect my bike the next day. The staff members were very friendly as well, and the price of repairs was reasonable given the damage. I would definitely recommend this shop!

Fares, the owner, is great. Friendly, honest and really knows bicycles. They made a few modifications to my bike and tuned up my and my wifes bikes and did a good job at a reasonable price.

The father, or owner, I assume is always a pleasure to deal with. The son however, seems to have the customer service experience equivalent a wet paper bag. Considered doing some bike swapping there, but nah....try a few other places....

I brought my wifes wheel and tire in for repair at 1 pm on Saturday. We live out of town would like to get it back that same day to save a trip back to pick the wheel assembly. They were busy but did what they could to get the wheel straightened. We were able to pick up our wheel with a new tire installed at 5 pm. Thanks

I dont currently own a Cannondale. However, if you need to be properly fit and are having knee/back pain- Look no further! You will get the star treatment and the guys will work with you until you have the perfect fit. I could barely do 10 miles without excruciating knee pain, a few seemingly minor tweaks and I was good to go! Top notch!!

We went into their store today to purchase a balance bike for our son. The sales associate who helped us was very nice and informative. He was also patient with us as our son was slow to warm up to getting on the bike and being around the sale associates. However, once he did he really enjoyed it. They shared with us their wonderful childrens bike trade up program which sold it for us. We will be back for future bicycle related purchases. These guys were very informative! Highly recommend! :-)

I am sure it is a nice store, but they will only allow one person in the store at a time. With COVID, I understand things have changed, but one person at a time is silly, especially if we wear masks. Go elsewhere if you need to look around and don’t know specifically what you want.

I was over at Windrock practicing for a race and ran in to some issues with my bike. Not only did they take time out of their schedule to get me up and running for my race the next day, but they also went way above and beyond and went to great lengths to fix everything. They have a great atmosphere, fantastic customer service, and are more than helpful and willing to address tough to solve issues and answering any questions. If I lived in this area they would easily be my go to local shop especially seeing how they went completely out of their way to help a complete stranger (with a brand they don’t carry) which is hard to find at other shops.

I traveled to the Knoxville area for a family visit and decided to do a small triathlon while in town. Of course, it rained all week.The owner at West Bicycles was very flexible and understanding in working with me about the weather. Of all things, what other business can you think of that is willing to work with you due to weather?!?The service went beyond the owner; the entire staff was so pleasant and helpful. Dare to say, I was a bit difficult with my bike fit but they helped me until I was completely satisfied.Anyway, if you are in the market for a bike, a rental, parts or service, and even if you have to drive a bit, go to West Bicycles!

The owner and John Ecklund were terrific. I came in to tune up an old bike and they honestly recommended a proper size upgrade without being pushy. John rode around with me around Village Green and I was sold!I ended up saving thousands on a great bike they had put together from parts around the shop. Cant wait to get out there! Maybe even this Saturday on their weekend ride! Thank you for the good advice and patience they both exhibited with this novice!

I just moved to TN and my mid-range bicycle was packed by movers who broke about 50% of my stuff. I brought my bike in and they did a free evaluation for safety and free mini tune up. These guys are very passionate about riding bicycles and making sure you can even if you are not a serious rider and just enjoy bicycling. I am definitely looking forward to returning and would recommend them to all level of cyclists.

Ive been to several bike shops around the area and have found Fares and crew to be the most helpful and friendliest. As a new rider, they allowed me to ride several expensive bikes on a few rides with no pressure to buy. After I decided to buy, they were extremely helpful in getting the right clothes, fit, even down to the right gear cluster for the area rides.Not sure about the older posts, but I would certainly recommend these guys to anyone.

Wonderful help, knowledgeable, great trade up program. They helped my kids get started learning to ride bicycles!! Tuned the brakes up months later for free.

These guys are great. I was in town for business and looking for a mountain bike rental. They hooked me up with a sweet full suspension bike for the weekend and directed me to some great trails in Knoxville. I would definitely recommend stopping by West Bicycles!

I Was at the tour the Blunt this morning and my bicycle was not working properly the guy that was suppose to looking at them hadnt shown up yet and a young lady ask a gentleman from West cycles In Farragut if he would look at it and he stopped what he was doing getting ready for his ride and helped me be able to ride the WALL.

I have purchased two road bikes from Shannon and would highly recommend West Bicycles to anyone. My first purchase was a used Giant which saved me a ton of money. It has been tuned up twice and I have gotten it back within 24 hours both times. My second purchase was a new bike and when we compared prices, they were considerably cheaper than Harpers on the exact same bike. The guys at West have always been very friendly and willing to help us with any issues we are having. If you are looking for a bicycle shop that cares - West Bicycle is the place to go!!

Ive gotten back into biking after several years off and stumbled into their shop one weekend for a few things to help me get back into the swing of things. Been back in 3-4 times in the past few weeks for little things and have to say that every employee Ive run into has been helpful without being pushy. The owner has also been great as well. Also went to several other shops in town for one or two things and was not happy with how they treated me. Other shops in town have made me feel unwelcome or a nuisance. Sure, I could have bought all the things I did online and saved a few dollars, but when I need real face-to-face help and bike maintenance they will be there for it. Plan on buying a bike from them for my daughter soon. I will continue to support them as long as I feel welcome.

Dont ever go to West Bikes. I took three of my bikes there to have them tuned up. They seemed super friendly and knowledgable. When we got our bikes back my husband questioned the quality of the tune up that we received. I didnt think much of it until after our first ride. My husband couldnt get his gears to shift so we brought the bike in for inspection. Farris removed the tire and said that he would contact us by the end of the day to tell us the diagnosis. When we heard from him he said that the wheel was shot and we needed a full replacement for $125. My husband had a crack in the frame of his other bike and it needed to be brought to a specialized dealer so we decided to have all work done there. When the other bike shop looked at the tire they said nothing was wrong with the tire. They put it back together and said that whomever took it apart went through great lengths to disassemble more than necessary. This other bike shop didnt even charge me to reassemble the wheel. West Bikes are liars, cheaters and scam artists and if you take your bike there to be tuned up or repaired you asking for trouble!

Sorry to report that I agree with the other reviews. Bought a new bike at West Bikes after being persuaded to buy a Giant when I was looking for a Fuji. Really like the Giant so my regards to the owner for making the suggestion.Had a used ladies Giant and used ladies Schwinn serviced at the same time. The following feedback was given to the owner and has not been acknowledged to date.We went on our first family ride today, the Schwinns maiden voyage since the safety check (and shifters and tires replaced) at your shop. After I split off to ride to the end, the girls turned around to head back to the start.My wifes (Schwinn) rear wheel came off and the bike locked up and stopped almost throwing her off. Luckily she was not injured and found some helpful cyclists to reattach the wheel and tighten the nuts. She then found a screw had fallen off the sprocket in the same area...

Like another reviewer, I was charged twice what the estimate was. Never again.
