First experience with Oxbo was bringing the church’s van in for a cracked exhaust pipe.Drove in, they looked at it within minutes in the parking lot and identified the problem immediately.You can tell when someone exhibits knowledge, confidence and professionalism. This place has it.A few months later I needed an exhaust for an older Ford passenger vehicle. Called them up, gave them the vehicle details, and they said to drop it off the next day and they could get it done. It was a simple job for them because this is what they do.When up on the lift they identified a brake hose that was causing a drive wheel to hang up which I suspected. They showed it to me and said they could fix that too. Done!When I brought it in, it was actually two weeks after I was supposed to.I called at 3pm and they said they close in about 2.5 hours. I was 20 minutes away.I pulled up, left it running, they had an open bay and put it up on the lift.Great job. Hard working men who know their stuff. I recommend anyone to use them.Fair prices, expert work and great knowledge!Job well done.

I called the shop asked about have 2 new catalytic converters put on and they told me they would be able to get off the broken studs from my old catalytic converters, so I dropped my car off the next day and they did it in less then a day . This shop is professional and will get you in and out as quick as they can . The prices are excellent as well . I will definitely be going back to have more muffler work done by them .

My first visit to this establishment went well. I got my muffler welded on my ‘08 Lancer in less than 15 minutes for a very good deal. However this last visit was different. I went into the shop today in hopes of getting my down pipe on my ‘88 Porsche 944 welded. I was refused service. When I questioned why, I was told they don’t do that kinda work. They refused to even look at the problem. My guess is they didn’t want to work on the car simply because it was a Porsche. I would think because it’s an older model it shouldn’t be a problem. But I guess not. I don’t know what their deal was but now I know not to take any sports car here.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I dont believe all these great reviews came from previous customers. I brought my car in for a quote on labor to install resonators on my 3 exhaust. I would supply the resonators. They informed me that could actually do it then and they claimed to have AP Performance resonators which I was going to purchase anyhow. I had them install the resonators that same day. I requested they supply me with a receipt that stated the part number from AP so I knew what was on my car, and they did. The next day I was on the highway and I noticed a difference regarding reduced acceleration and my dash was showing reduced miles per gallon at high speeds. I got home and looked closely at the work they had done. What I found was that they intentionally used the wrong parts because they dont even stock 3 resonators I found out later. I looked on line for the part number and found no information. I called AP Performance and the part number on the receipt wasnt theirs (it did say AP on the receipt). I also realized that they modified a 2.5 muffler and forced it to fit the 3 exhaust. I called and asked for the manager. Terry came to the phone. When I explained the situation he said come back and Ill make it right. I told him that Id supply the resonators and all Im asking from them is to remove their wrong materials and install the correct material supplied by me. I didnt even ask for a refund for the mufflers they originally charged me for. He agreed and we made an appointment. Terry did a fantastic welding job after making me wait 6 hours. When completed, I was handed a bill for the installation. I questioned Terry about Ill make it right and he told me Im just a welder here, youll have to talk to the accountant. I had paid for installation the first time. I asked if theres a manager on property at any time and said NO! I went home and pulled up their website to find the only contact information was the phone number to the shop I was just at and an email address. I wrote this information in an email and never heard back from them, its been 2 weeks now. BUYER BEWARE because if you use this place they will put anything on your car to get your money. BTW if you have small kids I wouldnt bring them because the language being yelled from the shop area was so bad that I was embarrassed for them when female customers came in. I was in the construction trade and the Army so Im use to Adult language, but they were over the top like a bunch of 15 year old boys with no adult supervision.

In and out quickly. Very fair prices. They could have fixed what I thought was the issue, and charged me a lot more, but instead they fixed only what was wrong. Honest shop that knows what they are doing. My new go to place !!!

Brought my old car in with a new muffler in hand. The guys were able to put my car up on a lift, evaluate the situation and determined they could save most of the rest of the exhaust They welded the new one on while I went and had a beer down the street. This was all done quickly, professionally and at a great price.BTW it was done almost a year ago and the car is still going strong.

Ive had 2 experiences with them. One a 5 star and second a 4 experience. Their prices are reasonable and the work they do is good. They can do custom work if needed. FOLLOW UP: I had issues with my second trip there.. dropped off my car for them to tighten some loose bolts only to find they did nothing. I guess thats way Ive seen all new faces the last two times. Time to find a new muffler shop.

Great customer service, not a long wait time, and a reasonable price.

I just needed rear brakes done. On the drive home my brakes were squeaking. I took it to another shop who told me they did a horrible job. They just slapped brake pads over the roters without cutting them or replacing them. And they messed up the calipers when they replaced them. I had to pay an additional $800 to fix their mistakes. I will NEVER take my car here again.

Awesome place. Quality work at reasonable prices. They did a quick repair for us when we first bought my sons truck. We drink decided what we wanted to do and they installed the exhaust we requested quickly and reasonably.I would highly recommend them.

Quick service but more important to me was their honesty which is tough to find when it comes to auto repairs. Did not try to sell me what I didnt need like my prior mechanic, and the price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend.

Where to start... a few thoughts.- First, I like these people a lot and would highly recommend. I live in Darien and traveled to Joliet based on their Google reviews.I brought my RAM 1500 in after my dealer said I needed an expensive fix. I was asked to come back in an hour and 1/2 for an inspection and quote. Almost went some place else but am glad I did not because I found out later that my truck would only fit in one of the bays and it was occupied at the time.When I came back, they inspected and suggested the problem required a minor welding job ($40) and had it done in 15 minutes.I had my doubts when I first pulled up. It is a small place (2 bays) and does not look very pretty. Sitting in the office waiting for my truck to be repaired, the thing I noticed was the large number of people coming in and getting serviced. They have a very dedicated set of happy repeat clients.My sense is that they are honest and charge very reasonably. If you do choose to come there, dont be put off when you first see the place. You might need to wait a while as they may be busy. This will be my muffler place going forward. A diamond in the rough...

Had an excellent experience thanks to everyone here at Oxbo! Efficient quality work with fair and honest prices only help to make taking your vehicle here for service a must.I brought in a full header back exhaust, that I had trouble installing thanks to pipes not quite lining up as they should. They made short work of cutting, welding (well out of my wheelhouse) and making sure all of the necessary gaskets were in place to ensure I had a perfectly sealed exhaust system. Im back on the road with no check engine light(s) and an awesome sounding exhaust.I highly recommend having any of your exhaust issues taken care of at Oxbo. I do not recommend this place! I did have work done here before to replace brake pads and rotors on a previous vehicle. So i brought it in here to replace both front and rear brake pads and rotors on another car. I purchased the parts and had them do labor work. Not even 2 months later the same issue comes up again. I went to a personal mechanic to check it out and they didnt put oil on the rear rotors like they are supposed to.. and wore down the new set of brake pads and rotors i had brought it to get replaced. They only put oil on my front set. This was done on purpose to have set customers to come back again! Mechanics do this to have guaranteed work. I do not write reviews, but this was a must! So uncalled for! Good prices but not trustworthy! I called it in and they told me that they would see how much i would pay to get it fixed again...? Therefore i would not invest more money than you need to.

Just got my vehicle back from these guys. 5 stars all the way.Dealer (who I do like) said they would need to replace the entire exhaust because of how the parts are shipped in, but they recommended these guys since they could replace individual components. $93 out the door with a new resonator. Only suggestion is to call when the car is ready. Maybe I wrote my number down too sloppy, but I called in and they said it was good to go. Ill definitely be back. Thanks guys!

Came to Oxbo because of all the great reviews on Google, there is one bad one lol. Billy helped me out the first time with my wifes GMC custom exhaust, which another shop said couldnt be done! Billy knocked it out w/ fabrication and welding in less than an hour and showed be all work done, for a great price. I decided to also bring in my Ram for a full exhaust system install and Billy & Tony did a great job, again in no time at a great price! Ill definitely be back and will recommend this place to everyone, thanks guys! Mario

All three of my vehicles serviced at Oxbo. Top notch place. Today they corrected another Mechanic’s error (bolts loose) at no charge. Just plain ole good business.

Went in on a Saturday morning needing an entire exhaust system . Took great care of me, whole thing front to back was $250 and in and out in about an hour and a half. Probably would have been quicker if there wasnt another vehicle in front of me.

This place is a joke. Stay away the staff are completely incompetent.

Told me my brakes were fine and did not charge me for the inspection.

I was just in here today, 10/8/16, because one of the hangers for my muffler failed and these guys took care of me. Any time Ive had an exhaust issue Ive come here, even after I moved out to Montgomery, IL. There is no place that is more affordable, quick, or with better customer service. Always the place I recommend. You wont find a better price.

They were quick, did a good job, and didnt over charge me for the repair. Dealer was going to charge me $600, they repaired for $90. Shop is small but they get the job done!

Had my Altima serviced here back in March. They did a great job, custom work at a great price. Rate was on point, much cheaper than buying aftermarket online especially considering the install time it would have taken for me to do it myself. I would be happy to go back there.

I’ve visited this location twice with two different vehicles and each time they have come back with damage. First was a Tiburon that was returned to me with all the hub caps damaged and unable to use because they would no longer stay in place. The second and most recent was a Ridgeline that was returned to me with three 12 inch scratches on the driver side. It looks like something was closed in the door because the paint in the door jam is warped and chipped where the scratches start. The staff have all been very nice and they were able to get my brakes changed the same day with no appointment. Unfortunately because of the damage done in the process I’m not sure I will be going a third time. Thank you for reading this review.

Took a car this morning to Oxbo in Joliet after my sons cars exhaust pipe became separated from the rest of the exhaust system. They had us out in about 20 minutes for an extremely reasonable charge. When we went there, we were concerned hed probably need a lot more done, but they addressed the problems and didnt try to take advantage of the customer like some places do. Places like this are worth their weight in gold because they only fix what has to be fixed and do it reasonably and promptly.

Took my car to a muffler place near my house and they commented on how loud my car was and said there was a hole in one of my exhaust pipes - said it would be an additional $600-$700 to fix. Since I just spent almost $1000 on brakes and rotors, I decided to wait. A friend told me to go to Oxbo and I owe her. They had me in and out in less than an hour and for WAY less than the other place told me. They had my car running in the front and I almost tried to start it again because I didnt realize it was running - it was so quiet. Thanks guys -for real. I dropped my car off today (5/20/16) at around 10:30am. i recieved a call around 12:15 and my car was ready. VERY fast work. i had my resinator deleted, and some exhaust hangers repaired (my car is lowered). very fast work, and very good pricing. i checked the welds when i got home and they were perfect. VERY happy. would recommend this place for anyone getting their stock exhaust repaired, to a custom exhaust. perfect place with good, knowledgable workers!
