Speak with Erick Williams the manager! Hes a good and reasonable guy, and made a huge exception for me. Overall the team is very knowledgeable and will get what you need - and if they cant thats where Erick comes in. I can see they are striving to be great, and I have to commend them for it. You should stop by this location.

Wow. The lady that works in here is beyond rude. Rolling her eyes, you could tell she did not want to be there. Worst customer service I’ve seen in a long time. I know times are tough with staffing but dang, I would never allow an employee to treat customers this way. Insinuated that we were going to steal the van we were trying to rent because we have tattoos. I’m genuinely shocked. We will not be back.

I reserved a 9’ Cargo Van on the Uhaul.com website the night before I needed the vehicle. I get to the this Uhaul location and there are a whopping 2 employees working and about 12 people in line. Myself and a friend stood in line for approximately 20-25 minutes as one older gentleman named “Kevin” attempts to help customers. As I get to the desk, I proceed to give this Kevin individual my information as he outlines how it’s the computer’s fault that he’s behind. We get ALL the way through the transaction and he attempts to charge me $212 for a 4 hour, 30-mile rental. He did not tell me the total and, after I inquire, Kevin proceeds to explain that “our store has a high theft rate, and so we always charge a down payment”. I’ve been to this location before and was told that 24/7 Truck Share renters DO NOT pay a down payment. Kevin seemed uninterested, whiney, and extremely ill-informed regarding the Uhaul policies. This is my second time dealing with passive aggressive clerks at this location. I can guarantee you I will not be back. DO NOT GIVE THIS LOCATION YOUR BUSINESS!

Very poor customer service, two days in a row where a truck I reserved wasn’t available at my time slot. Was given a smaller truck that couldn’t fit all our stuff so an extra trip was required that doubled the mileage and gas I had to pay for. Recommend avoiding this location if possible.

The experience here was horrific and I can’t believe i have to wait 45mins despite the fact that I made a reservation already. The representative are too slow and I won’t advice anyone going here when they know they have other things to do for the day.

Terrible customer service. I rented 2 dollies online and I when I got there they told me they were unavailable. It put me back greatly and now I have to rent another truck and dolly (but absolutely not Uhaul). I also got charged for furniture pads and didn’t receive any so a few things were damaged during the move. I would have gone back but we had a tight schedule to stick to. I also emailed the customer support with no response, called several times and the store forwarded me to the corporate like with over an hour wait time (without even answering at all, just forwarding the call). I finally got through to the store and the person who answered wasn’t helpful, just told me he would leave a not for the supervisor that I was charged for something I didn’t get and it was the most awkward phone conversation ever. I have never posted a review for a business but this was so terrible I had to make the exception. Oh and when I went to the store initially to pick up the truck, one of the employees who was working there walked right by the next lady in line (she just had a question) and just ignored her outright but proceeded to have a full conversation with the dude helping me at the counter about personal stuff.

We made an AM reservation for a 26 moving truck. We had trouble with the online check-in, so went indoors for help. Eric was great - he sorted out our reservation issue, and when we bought a few extra boxes and left without them, he called us right away. We couldnt return for them in the morning, so he saved them for us all day. This is my second time renting from this location, and Ill probably be back again.

The old man working the counter put us down for going 300 miles instead of 50 when we checked out our van this weekend. We tried to explain we had already made this trip once before and there was no way we would go 300 miles in the 6 hours we were renting the van. He insisted though and explained that yes we would be have a higher amount put on our card bu it would be reduced when we went under 300 miles. Now we are stuck waiting for them to process the reduction on my card. There are numerous other companies that rent vans and I will be using them going forward.

Made a reservation and bought supplies and had a set time and everything and still had to wait because my reservation wasn’t showing for them. I showed him proof I had made it with screenshots then he continued to try swiping through my phone after I stated 2 times that they were screenshots and at that point he was just looking at pictures and I was uncomfortable with that. Once I got my phone back from him and stayed I just needed to get me renral because I had movers outside waiting for me it Took forever to get the man I was talking to to just let me get a truck and supplies and he was being very rude with facial expressions and eye rolling when I was asking questions and trying to purchase things and when I told him the paperwork said there were way more miles on the truck then their actually was he rolled his eyes again and said it wasn’t his problem cause he told me to check things before I left, but when I did he blew me off and said he was busy. The lady there was nice but overall he was very rude and it states in advertising if you don’t get your reservation it’s $50 back guaranteed and I did not receive that or any type of discount and got dragged along and not treated right due to the older man working

Needed to trade my empty propane tank for a full one. Called to check on availability but got a recording saying Id have to wait at least 20 minutes for an operator. So just drove to this place, and was told they werent servicing the propane today. Wont go there again.

Gave 45minutes notice before pickup. Tried to leave after signing, the doors were frozen shut and the entire vehicle was covered in ice. Then they just lent my father in law a scraper and watched as he scraped the their vehicle. They were dead, we were only customers on lot. They had 45min to clean it before we arrived. I saw at least 4-5 employees not doing anything. Horrible customer service. Even the step up to the van was coated in ice! Nothing was cleared!

Manager has no idea what shes doing approached me at propane fill station with lit cigarette, and then decide not to fill my propane tank and that was tested 2016 due to evaluation of small amount of rust. Waste of time. Just want me to purchase a new tank. heres a picture of my tank so if you want yours filled you better sand and paint it beforehand.

I showed up at this location to rent a car hauler and the guy working had no mask told me I had to have a mask. I said do you have one. Next thing I know 3 guys in a group with no masks. 2:30 pm December 4th.. thank you guys for thinking it is ok for you but no one else.. great job

I had a reservation planned for midday and called in the morning with a request to push back one week due to a medical emergency. The Uhual agent on the phone was extremely nice and helpful! Process was easy and quick to reserve and pick up the truck. Truck was clean, newer, and in good condition. Employees were courteous, knowledgeable, and took care of me. Overall experience was good. Only negatives were it was a little pricey, but I knew that going into it. And the fuel wasnt fully topped off when I picked up the truck. Found that out when I filled it up on the return. The gauge went up over the full mark and paid for a few gallons more than I used.

Uhaul missed the mark today. The gentleman who checked us in for our moving truck was the same gentleman pictured on the wall as the manager who has completed customer service training of some type. He was great. Was sent out to rather large lot to get help finding the truck; we were told to flag down one of the three employees. I asked the gentleman outside and he appeared perturbed that I had bothered him and pointed me to a row of trucks. In 20 degree weather I walked all around trying to find the truck and couldnt. Same guy then told me it might be up front. Went back inside to the nice guy who told me I could wait inside while they found it and pulled it up. He sent the same rude gentleman to find the truck. He started the truck and drove like a complete maniac before slamming it in park and walking away.This is the first time I have had someone act this way at this business (several rentals) and the (different) gentleman checking us in was very polite. I will chuck this up to an employee who could use anger management courses but I will think twice before returning (undecided).

We had a reservation at 4:45, Got here and they decided they were going to close early and not allow us to pick up the trailer we reserved and paid for. The two employees acted like they didn’t see us and then when they did all they could say was that they had already shut their computers down. Very unprofessional and would not recommend, very dirty as well.

The people here were really nice, but the whole U-Haul return process is garbage! The reservation wasnt correct, so the whole process was off. I still dont know if the truck was returned correctly because the store wont answer their phone! !! The other answering system was no help either. I think Ill go with someone else next time .

The service that I have received from the storage company has been so awful. The first month was pretty standard, everything went smooth, because I was new, month 2, I thought I set my account up in an auto draft, and it was not, so they sent me the past due notice, I called this actual store to speak to someone about the mix up. I had a customer service rep get smart with me, then hang up on me... So Rude! I called back to speak to a manager was told the he wasnt there, then was given his contact number, and of course he never call back. So I had to call corporate just to get help, and they had to remove the late charges. Today I went to pay my bill and some unknown charges were added to my account again. I wish I would have picked somewhere else to go!!! This place is TRASH!!!!

I had a reservation here for two weeks for hitch installation. They asked me to drive 25 miles away to get the parts at another location. I did and I spent $400 on the parts. Two days before my appointment, I received a call telling me they were not able to install the hitch since they didn’t like to do them on BMWs. I asked why they didn’t tell me this two weeks prior instead of waiting right before my cross country move. He didn’t know why but said he couldn’t help me and will not allow me to return the parts that I had to purchase for installation.

I ordered a 10 inch van and go to pick it up and made reservations online ans someone else has my truck. All they could do for me was make me request another truck online all that was left was a 20 inch which I was charged 73 and some change for. I should only be charged for the truck I first made reservations for which was the 10 inch truck 19.95 plus millage. And if i made reservations online how did they give my truck to someone else dont you have to show order number or license. now I have 4 pending 37,50 overdraft fees in my account because of them and they say a manager might call that they have 24hrs to call back i called yesterday and still havent heard anything they better fix my bank return my money and i should only be charged for the 1ST TRUCK I RESERVED. If they dont correct this I will no longer use or recommend u haul to a soulwould give no stars but wouldnt allow me

Had some issues paying our storage and it ended up being an error on there end. But we received the best customer service we have ever had ANYWHERE. the manager of this store is amazing and goes above and beyond! Im suprised by all of the bad reviews on here honestly. We came in stressed and worried about how to get the issue resolved and left happy and laughing that we were even worried about it in the first place. My husband and I have a couple storage units with them and because of the error they waived the fees, gave us a free month, and apologized for the inconvenience. We watched in line as she took care of other customers and everyone left with a smile. If anyone ever has an issue just call the manager I know she will make it right! Still cant believe how easy she made everything and how kind she was the entire time. Its hard to find good customer service these days but this manager has perfected it! Now I can rest easy knowing our stuff is safe, secure, and any issue will be resolved. Thanks again!! :)

Got to this location (third location sent to of the day) only to be told that they do not have my u-haul truck but gave me a larger one instead. The owner Chuck then talked me out of taking the tow dolly for my car saying it would be easier to load the truck without it attacked. I arrived in the morning to pick up the tow dolly and was told it was “stolen” overnight. Chuck assured me that it would be here and they would not let what happened to me the day before happen again. I have waited two and 1/2 hours and still do not have a tow dolly and not hit the road for my 10 hour drive. Every location they go to to pick up a tow dolly or trailer they say they don’t have when it’s in the system that they do. The organization is horrible, while sitting waiting the same issue has happened to multiple people. I HIGHLY suggest taking business elsewhere! Moving is stressful enough find a moving company that does not add on to that.

By far the worse, unorganized establishment I have ever dealt with. This company overcharged me then double ran my card stating I had their vehicle for 3 days when I returned it same day. Top it off there is never communication with the management if there is truly a location manager at this said facility. I drove up there to no manager available three different times. Never been more livid with a business transaction. I would declare 0 stars if it would allow!!!

First of all let me say I love the employees here on east st they are awesome ! My rental this weekend was less than spectacular, first the truck gets stuck on concrete FULL PAVEMENT because of the ice in the area I was moving (beech grove ) no more than usual . I was stuck most of my night with a full load it was very unfortunate . After contacting roadside assistance they informed me I needed to pay a outrageous tow fee to get it moving . REALLY ? Needed a nudge or some salt . I sat 4 hours in this 58 gallon truck (the biggest inclosed u haul possible)and had a horrible night . After paying a tow company a much cheaper price I was able to get AAA to bring me some salt ; I was on my way in 5 min .Later I arrive at my destination to find that the back of the truck has ice, water and snow coming in from the top of the INCLOSED unit ! Several of my cardboard boxes where ruined as well as valuables .I would recommend to inspect the inside of the truck before ever signing the agreement . This location has a phenomenal atmosphere and great employees they have always been very polite and kind every time I have used there services .I was very disappointed with this rental however and will always do a inspection from here on out .Thanks be to the very kind guy who helped me at the front desk his personality is above and beyond !! I LOVE IT . I did not catch his name but if I do return for future business it will certainly be because the exquisite environment they have to offer . They treat u like family and I love that .Thanks u haul !

Horrible service. Charged my card a total of 4 times for ONE rental fee, on top of adding $10 to the tank before returning. Can never get ahold of anybody. I have 2 kids to take care of & don’t even have enough money for the necessities now. I will NEVER rent from them again & I will be filing a complaint as soon as I can actually get someone to answer the phone.

Dropping off our truck and getting our free unit was great, I know it was our option at choosing an outdoor storage union. Unfortunately you guys have an infestation of fleas and we ended up bringing them to our new place without knowing it. Please consider to spray something and let people know that you have fleas, now i have to figure out how to get rid of those bug at my home. 😢

Went in around 6:10 pm and they were closed. If you aren’t going to be open during posted store hour(7am-7pm) you shouldn’t be open period. And any employee who closes the store down before closing hours shouldn’t be an employee. They had the best prices but clearly they don’t want business

The main guy who helped to ring us up was a nice man, and friendly. He also gave us a $70 discount off our trailer we rented, since we already ad a hitch installed on our van. They were also very quick on getting the hitch installed, less than two hours.

Poor service. I reserved a Uhaul at a specific location only for them to change the location without proper notification. I received an email with the original confirmation, but they decide to text me when they changed it. I don’t received text from unknown senders. This is blocked on my phone. Therefore I wasn’t notified of the changes. Only to be notofied after ive driven to the original location of the changes. The only apologetic person was the woman at the original location. The new location was 11 miles out of the way. This suited the change to make more money. It doesn’t stop there. After receiving the keys to the truck I walk out only to notice the truck is blocked in... wasting more of my time. Last but not least the key to the truck was janky and had to be used a certain way and nobody decided to tell me. I would NEVER recommend the south side locations. Ive rented from Uhaul for years without pitiful service like this before. Lousy inside staff! The guys outside where better help.

I made a reservation in July 18th the reservation when i went to store I shocked when the Lady in front desk said there are no any trucks available but i told her there are more than 10 trucks in parking lot and i have a reservation. but she said they are need repairs then i asked her if she could check if any Uhaul stores have any truck available but she said there are no any trucks available at any Uhaul store in Indiana today, but she was liar bacuse i went to another uhaul store in same day and picked up a truck and the order number is . I asked to talk with boss but she said Im the boss so i leaved and stayed in my car at parking lot to call another store then i shocked when i saw a guy came and take a truck so i went agian and talk with her and she said no body came.she lied to me 3 times 1st when said no trucks available 2nd when she said no any truck available at any uhaul store for today but i went to another store and find one. 3rd when she said no body picked up a truck even though i saw him. My question to U-haul do you allow your employees to refuse rent me because of racism?

I called and talked to a representative on the phone and expressed that I needed the 20’ truck and appliance dollys because I had a lot of heavy appliances and items to move. I get to the store only to find out that they were out of appliance Dolly’s. Not satisfactory in my opinion and I have rented uhaul before but never again.

My son has always rented here and this weekend was certainly less than good our stuff was very wet upon arriving at our destination because the enclosed truck was leaking from the top . Not to mention the truck getting stuck for 4 hours on concrete and ice it was rediculouse . REMOVED item and did not return it to my car properly and now I have to drive back 90 minutes to collect. There is no number to reach them and went to a 1-800 several times and never could get to the store.My mini van is missing the entire back insert which is an expensive and difficult item to replace for a Nissan Quest. How could they remove that and “forget” to place it back AND no voluntary call to me - I have to chase them for it’s return. I can’t say I recommend this place at all and I am suspicious of their ethics.

Never return a U-HAUL here after hours - not without taking a picture of the odometer and gas meter. They WILL charge you for gas even when you put in more than what you were left with when you took the vehicle. General manager never got back to me. Never coming here again.

Extra charges everywhere. Every employee is a scam artist. Initial cost should’ve been around $90. Ended up being over $200 + I wouldn’t recommend uhaul if my life depended on it. You could find someone local who actually needs the money & help instead of getting scammed by this company.

I will never come to this U-Haul again. I would rather drive half an hour out of my way then to have to go to this business. I love the U-Haul store and all of its supplies however the service at this particular location is completely unacceptable. I stood in line for over 20 minutes and there was one person checking people out. And he only checked out one other person in that 20 minutes. It was 5 on a Friday which Im sure is a high demand time seeing as how there were 10 people in line. Never again. this place needs some retraining and restructuring

Id like to give them negative 5 stars if I could. I had a reservation to get a trailer hitch put on my car on Saturday and to rent a Trailer. I showed up at the store no more than a half an hour after making the reservation, and was told the guy who puts on the hitches left already, and there wont be anyone else there to do it till Tuesday! I was told they were too busy to call me to cancel!!! I guess they dont care if Im busy or not, and certainly they are not worried about WASTING MY TIME!Then I called two other u-hauls, one got all my information and we got disconnected, never did get back in touch with them, they take your number to call you back if you get disconnected, but they didnt! The other one I called said theyd have a manager call, but didnt. I have never experienced such unprofessional rude service ever!

- They never answer their phone. Ever.- I paid for a dolly, was told that the girl was getting for me and pulling the truck around. I get all the way home to unload only to find...no dolly. I drove all the way back to get the dolly. Still charged for my mileage with no sorry or anything. Trashy place!-Avoid this location if possible.

Hi public I used the uhaul location on 25th Shadeland Indianapolis Indiana. I hate uhaul this location had 6 different employee in a 6 month period. Back in June I paid my storage fees up to date so I could move out. Went out to my unit to move only to find that my lock had been changed with out my knowledge. I went back into the store to find out why this had happened. And not one of the employees could seem to tell use why or who changed the lock or wheres the keys were for the new lock. The worker tried to get in touch with the manager no answer. I try to contact the manager by text voicemail and going back and forth to the location. No response from the manager and of coarse no one at the store had any new information on the unit. The whole month of July no response into August. So I sent more text and left more voicemails of coarse no response. After calling the manager from someone else phone I got a answer. You could tell that she was surprised that it was me. I had sent her messages begging for my things. After talking she told me to come get my things. Went to the store manager didnt charge me for July or August because she had denied me access to my things for over 2months she knew she was wrong. After being told to come back to get my things the manager reneged on the arrangements that she made. She Started asking me for money at the last minute and changed my lock again . I was upset after asking why she changed things, She Starting to blame the change on another b co-worker from another store. Two days later sold my storage at there action. Theres alot more to this story. Short in sweet the manager was avoiding me for months denied me access to my unit, changed my lock twice without my knowledge never returned one call text or message keep making excuses that would keep me from opening the unit, then at the last moment went back on or veberal agreement starting asking for money. Two days later auction off my unit without me knowing until I went in to get my things. She succeeded to make shore from June 25 until September 10th to keep me out of my storage unit to make sure I never seen my things again. Something very strange about this. At first I thought the problem was she was a manager that didnt do her job well. But after all the shady things that happened Im starting to think that it was more to the story. I feel my things were already gone when I came in to move in June. There was around 13,000 with of merchandise in the unit only to receive a letter stating that my unit was sold for 95.00 Why why me!!!!!!!!!

** UPDATE ** I just got a phone call from Ashley (sp) who works at this same Uhaul location. She was following up with my complaint. She was very nice and offered me a satisfactory resolve which was not necessary but greatly appreciated. The fact that a real person calls and actually follows up with each case means that they care and if you have an issue there is a good chance you will get results. My big take away from all of this to everyone is to physically go into the store to make the reservation. I realize that this goes against the convenience of making it online however, when I called to make my initial reservation, I was actually speaking with a customer rep. and not the store. Ashley said that the Customer Rep. do not see inventory the same way as the store does. End of Update. My Uhaul number was 94033579. I made this reservation at our Uhaul Store located at 4011 south east street, southern plaza in Indianapolis. Chuck is the store manager and Dan was the person waiting on me. I called the store Friday 8/31/2018. I spoke with Lori, she was very nice. I asked to rent an appliance dolly, one with a strap that I could use to move a refrigerator. After a bit of searching she said they have one and asked me when I would like to pick it up. I said Saturday around 9:30 - 10am. She took my reservation and asked for a credit card to HOLD it, which I did. The above number is my confirmation. I also received a confirmation text which also asked me to call and confirm. Not sure why I needed to call again since I had just gotten off the phone, however I did and she went through all the details and said Pick-up at noon I said no, I made it for 9;30-10 am. She said, okay, I can change that. So, the next day is Saturday and I get to their location at around 10:20 I wanted for two cashiers Chuck and Dan to help other people. Dan greeted me and I gave him my reservation number. He looked it up and made a remark that it was for 9:30. I simply looked at my watch which was 10:30 at this point. Clearly something was wrong. I asked him Did you give it away? He said yes someone needed one and they were short on them. I was very pissed. I could tell that Dan was searching frantically for one. I wasnt asking for anything major. I just needed a appliance dolly, it was labor day weekend and I needed to get this moved. Dan asked Chuck, the store manager How do you go about looking for one of these? Chuck basically said, you have to check each place in such a tone as It will be a lost cause Dan still acted like he was looking and at this point I new it was pointless. So, yes I was pissed, visibly upset. I finally said Forget it Dan. And Dan said Sorry man and out the door I went. Okay, so here is some background info. I have lived in my same location for 13 years. I pass by this store every single day that I go to work. I have used them about 4 times and I would say once before I had issues with them closing a little earlier than they should have. I have seen them grow from a simple corner outfit to having expanded greatly into a nearby car dealership. It is a very convenient location. I do not however have very many other choices to pick from. My biggest complaint is the obvious fact that they gave it away! What, is the point of holding something with a credit card if that doesnt matter. Was I late? yes, should I have been penalized for being a half hour late? No! In this past I have had someone call my cell phone and ask me if I still want this Truck, so I dont get it. I will be filing a formal complaint with corporate and simply passing this along to others. I personally believe that the store is expanding faster than the personnel can keep up with it. Very little has changed over the last 13 years and they are still just as slow. Im am really hoping to find future alternatives. I did find the dolly at a different place. I was unable to leave a review on there website because apparently once the reservation is cancelled you cant leave a review. Imagine that.

Worst uhaul. Poor customer service. No one knows what theyre doing. Overcharged us $60 a month after having the uhaul for gas even when we had the correct amount when we brought the uhaul back. Been trying for a few days to simply talk to a manager. Cant get in contact with anyone

Poorly poorly mismanaged. Whenever i walk into this store, its a guarantee i wont leave for at least 45 minutes. Hell, Im writing this review now in line because its taking so long. Not enough employees up front and what seems to be an outdated and slow computer system.

This place is not a good place to rent from we have a storage unit and it’s paid up and they still won’t take lock off I have called many times and manager won’t call back I have made complaints about it just to be told that the manager has wrote a lie about us doing it every month just to get late fees off well if that’s true then why do we pay for the late fees when we are late she looked into it and said o i see where you have never had a late fee waived I said exactly and the manager should get in trouble for lying and she reopened the complaint I want my stuff that is being held illegally and I won’t be back there again I feel like they are keeping the lock on for as long as they can to say o your payment is due so you have to pay for another month before you can have your stuff I can’t believe how unprofessional the manager is up there if the lock is not off tonight then I’m calling a attorney
