Glad to hear theyve closed this store for a rebuild as it was a little bit too small to support the surrounding area. Not sure if they can really add much room though but hopefully they maximize the space. Ive shopped here many many times when I was in college at UF. Would definitely recommend!

It is really very good, as Publix always is in my personal experience. The choice of foods is impressive, as is the general cleanliness of the store. The prices are reasonable and there are sales every week. The personnel is very courteous and helpful, and most often even friendly. It is very pleasant to shop there

As with all Publix supermarkets, it was clean well lit and inviting.The associates who work there are superb. The pride and professional attitude is pervasive, all the employees seem to want to be there. Kudos to Catherine and the whole deli crew, the popcorn chicken was awesome, ( grand son approved)Im glad I waited for it. Overall excellent experience..... Where shopping is a pleasure thank you to all.

No pharmacy, maybe that will change with remodel. This story doesnt carry somethings.

Good clean store. Well stocked. If you need something they dont have ask they can order it most of the time.

Everyone is always a big help if needed. Or, they just say hello and ask how Im doing today. Please understand this is the Publix I frequent 99% of the time. All Publix stores keep different inventory based on their own clients. For example this store caters to college students. So you will not find the same inventory as the Millhopper Publix. Also, hours can be different. Before covid-19, this store stayed open till 11pm while others would close at 10pm. 👍 A great store.

Ive shopped at at least 100 different Publix stores, and Westgate is my all time favorite. Great parking lot and super employees are the highlights.

I really like the cashiers. Very friendly and they remember me. Great customer service.Not the best selection in the bakery. But other than that, the selection is varied and good. Good parking. But most importantly, good carts. The roll right along without turning to turn left without your permission or squealing at a pitch that can only be reached by grocery carts and 4 year olds. Good carts make the experience much better.

They had what I needed and the store is soo soo clean and all clerks and customers were wearing face masks. Thank you publix I love your store.

Smaller store, but has the items I want when I want them and its 1/2 miles from the house.

Every Publix I have ever been to is so clean and the employees are just awesome.

The staff are friendly and they have a decent selection of food to choose from. The sandwich/sub station needs work tho. They NEVER have meatballs in stock and often don’t have white/Italian bread to make sandwiches with. It’s a grocery store, how can you be perpetually out of meatballs?

I was shopping today and was appalled to hear that one of the Front Assistant Managers did not know the name of one of her employees.The employee was shopping on her day off and the Manager Erica said hello to her but called her by another employees name. This is not the first time she has done this to this same employee either but today it made me very upset. She called her Sarah and the only Sarah there was a new employee with brown hair. The employee she misnamed has been with the store 17 months and has RED hair! I did mention this to another long time employee who brought it up ti Ge. manager Ryan, but he did not seem at all concerned. I am a long time shopper at this store and too many changes have been made and the new management staff is not at all like it used to be. They do not seem to be connected to the employees (maybe the certain few) or shoppers. The older employees are engaging with the shoppers. I am just appalled this manager did not know the employees name until I mentioned it. The red haired employee was my daughter! Maybe this is why she has some problems in the store because the managers do not make it a point to learn about their employees, it is very rude to them .

Not only the best customer service of any grocery store Ive ever been to, but also the best customer service of any Publix Ive ever been to. The Personnel there go out of their way to help you find what youre looking for even if you dont know what youre looking for exactly!! They are friendly, polite, and courteous to a fault. I highly recommend this store.

This is my favorite Publix in Gville. The shelves are always fully stocked, every Publix associate is super friendly - every one of them! The deli & fish counter run smoothly & efficiently. The fish & meat people can even help you decide how much to buy per person & help you figure out the best way to cook your selection. The meats are as fresh as weve come to expect from Publix. The produce & bakery are gorgeously displayed. I dont know how they make it look so easy. It might also have the best parking lot.

Ivonne in the bakery is WONDERFUL! You can truly tell she takes pride in her work and wants to make customers happy. Shes always there to help and answer questions.

Taylor is awesome! Super helpful and friendly. If you ever need anything, find him. But the store itself is set up in a very strange way and its kind of hard to find things. But its clean like any other Publix.

It was great I love Publix subs especially the veggies

Just surprised 😮 2 ladles standing in front of the deli eating a bag of chips and they opened up a pack of sliced meat started eating that also nothing was payed for we both ended up at the register and no bag of chips or meat but not once did someone walk up to them or stop them at the door and yes its on camera 🤷‍♀️🤔🤔🤔😯😡

The people here are the best! Store is clean and for a person with trouble walking, the parking is most convenient. Almost always find what I’m after.

I have been to many publix throughout Florida and the southeast. The staff of this publix is some of the nicest and most engaged that I have been to. There was always staff available if I had a question. They were extremely efficient and friendly. A++ especially the female store mgr at about 5pm on 7/17.

The employees at this Publix are the nicest people ever! The store is always clean and neat. We very rarely have to wait in line. If lines begin, more clerks are called to open other lanes. Lots of good parking.

This Publix is smaller than the one I usually go to, but it still has basically everything that you can be looking for, and the quality doesnt change. The parking is good, and the location is great, especially for college students. The only annoying thing is getting out of the parking lot, because you cant turn left back towards the university and you have to go out of your way to turn around each time.

This place is in desperate need of an update, but serves its purpose well. The staff is pretty decent, but prices are frequently incorrect on the shelf tags, and selection could be better.

Gr8 place to do all your shopping. Friendly workers there also. Yes, we save money there too.

Great store. Staff is really nice and helpful. Last week I wanted to buy a bogo item but there was only one. The staff gave me a rain check and said I could come back another time and get the item free. After looking at the rain check I realized that I was suppose to buy 2 items next time and one would be free. Well I just got back for the second item. I explained that I had been told that I could d get the item free, and instead of arguing with me or making me buy two they just gave it to me free. This is why I love publix!Thank you 34th Publix staff.

Great selection, but this was my first time coming here and I received the worst customer service I’ve ever seen at a Publix store, it makes me wish they had a self check-out option. I only needed 1 item, of course they had it, so I went to the 10 items or less lane. Approximately 3:30 pm, 2/21/2019, I was greeted by the most unprofessional and seemingly upset cashier I’ve ever seen in customer service. She said “hi” scanned the merchandise and gave me my receipt and just stood there until I asked if I could have a bag. She said “sure” then opened the bag aggressively and threw my merchandise inside. There was no “have a nice day” or “thanks for shopping with us” just a dirty look. It wasn’t busy at all, there was no one behind or in front of me, so it couldn’t have been that she was stressed from her workload. I don’t know if she was having a bad day or if the associate is always like that but it was extremely unprofessional and ruined my first impression of this store. I will take my business other Publix stores instead in the future, as there is no shortage of them in Gainesville.

This is one of my favorite Publix stores to shop at. Everyone is always so nice and willing to help from cashiers to managers. Truly a pleasure to shop at and conveniently located walking distance from my apartment.

Car broke down in the parking lot and Jordan from the deli and Abbey from stocks were a huge help. Both were on break and went out of their way to offer help !

Very well located. The store is always clean and the employees are always kind. This is where I do most of my grocery shopping

Small enough to do quick shopping; but with enough variety and quality that is the hallmark of Publix.

Went in for a few items came out disappointed. They didnt stock tamales or my wifes favorite Korean style spicy ramen in a cup (they did have it in the packets though). As always, the prices were over inflated except on their bogo items.

Great place but limited selection. They recently reduced the selection further. This forces us to drive further to get some essentials (Kid yogurt in cups) for our children.

Fun fact: This is one of the only Publix in town open past 10 o clock

We are from out of state and had never been to a Publix before. All I can say is wow to their customer service! Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

Its the oldest Publix in town but its my favorite because the folks that work here are so helpful and sweet.

Publix is great, but this location does pale a bit in comparison to the other locations in town. Smaller store, less selection, less of the quick grab type offerings. This is the closest location to me, but I always drive up to Millhopper instead.

Nice store but bathroom always need attention in it. Cashier that checked me out were nice

The supply truck has not arrived yet after hurricane Irma, but whar they had left on their shelves were sufficient for my needs.

Went to Dominos, it was fast the employees were friendly and it was a good ecperience.

Like most Pubilx stores, the service youll get here will be excellent. Publix prices? Not so good, but just follow the sales - lots of BOGOs every week.

Publix is my happy place. It doesnt matter which one; they all are staffed by friendly, helpful people who strive to make shopping a pleasure.

Publix was great as usual 😊. In the heart of Gainesville and not too busy on a Saturday afternoon.

Fried chicken was stale and they were selling it half HR after its sellby time! Refused to give me discount!!

They have very good customer service, great products that they back up, a wonderful deli and they assist you if you ask them. They are next to CVS, Dominos Pizza, and Checkers. They have electric driving carts and a wheel chair with basket which is next to customer service.

This is close to my house and I have been going all my life, but they do not have the same selections as other stores in town. The staff is usually extemely nice! However, the sub station is terrible. I have ordered online and it has always been at least 20 minutes late. The deli staff is talking, standing around, etc. while the line is crazy and online orders are way behind. They also dont have as many seafood options as the other stores.

Always good. Had a special order to make and was assisted right away. Very friendly.

Please please please. For the love of God keep two people on the sub line ..it is ridiculous too keep one person making subs when you have a consistent 8 people in line, just went there waited 20 mins in line, gave up and left because I was gonna be late for work ... this publix is great but this isnt the first time I have left the deli sub line, I shouldnt have to plan out 40 min time to just get a sub from walking in .. not too mention it was at 9:45pm not even a rush hour

Parking lot access a bit restricted in a high traffic area. Otherwise an early Publix in Gville slated for demolition and rebuilding at some point in the not so distant future. Update: change that to distant future apparently there is some concerns about the proposed multi-story building and the rare student that has fallen from such structures and this was the closest Publix to the UF campus. The drop back and punt was to put those development funds in their most recent build, near the corner of NW 13th St. & West University Ave. contingent to UF. Further development is postponed indefinitely.

I really dont visit this publix im a loyal customer at the publix on 91 and 39th after coming to this one i did give yall a high ratting this morning because of great employees they all reminded me of the publix buy my house. The employees are great! Its just a very old smaller Publix and its not always easy to shop with a cart when its busy.

Did some grocery shopping. As usual they have good high quality grocery.

Terrible deli. They are slow building subs and will stand around as a line builds. Its almost impossible to get a sub made quickly here. Also have had muy online orders not ready multiple times.

Called in two whole subs. Ham cheese lettuce mayo honey mustard salt pepper oil vinegar and parmashan cheese. Get back to work after picking it up. My subs have mustard and meat on them thats it!!!!
