Not your average store! This little shop is ran and currently owned by a lady who has an energy about her that demands respect, even though she is older, and very very nice. The items you see are something you could find in a museum. Perfect for collectors, or just someone who wants to see history right in front of them. She is very willing to answer questions and is happy to show you the history that she makes a living sharing with the world. Also a great place to find unique handcrafted Native American items. The beadwork is unlike any I have seen. I would visit again even if I don’t want to add anything to my collection just to feel as if I’m holding history in my hands. Please show respect and be willing to learn if you visit this place, it’s almost sacred in and of itself.

If youre doing the Route 66 Passport, just take a selfie. The ladies were rude and the trading post was crowded. Not worth time to wait for the owner to come to the door.

I wouldnt waste my time. This place is labeled as a store and gift shop but they are rude and hateful when you ask whats for sale. Some of it was their private collection, but it is not labeled or stored in a way that would preserve the items. Maybe they are tired if answering the same old questions, maybe they thought I wanted to take things that came from my family like photos and beadwork, maybe they should label items as not for sale. Not a good experience for our group. We were so disappointed.

What an incredible place! It has been a trading post for over 100 years. If you want to see genuine - and often very old - Indian pottery, katchinas, mud men, baskets, etc, this is the place to go! Plus myriad photos of Native Americans from long ago. Most of the most beautiful pieces are either not for sale, or very expensive. Not overpriced for what they are, though. And the 87 year old woman who owns it, inherited it from her mother, and continues to run it. So if you want to see something real and original, this is the place.

The couple that run this store are just so sweet and full of interesting stories, facts and history. They were such a joy to visit with. They have authentic arrowheads for $5 each, wich would make a great little souvenir! :-)

It was difficult to find and the hours werent posted. A sign said to ring the doorbell. It was answered by older lady who seemed irritated that we were bothering her.
