I had my car towed to them for $70, and made sure that they could work on my type of car . After assuring me they could i got a call hours later saying its beyond there expertise. So another l$70 dollar tow and the place closes early doesnt notifies me at all. Then go down too get my key since couldnt get when theu closed early, he tries charging me $139 and not the $80 agreed on. How is it you can not fix anything cost me $220 total and still be ok with how you cheat people and make your money .

I have mixed feelings about Bear Automotive. I had a couple thousand worth of repairs done here over time, and its all held up fine over the years, but there have been points of concern along the way.One time bringing in my car I was, among other things, looking for an opinion on a very loud transmission rattle thats virtually impossible to miss. They somehow forgot I asked about it, and also didnt notice when test driving? I had to point it out after the fact before they realized anything was off. Makes me wonder what else they miss.More recently, my wife got an older hybrid vehicle. I know Bear can sometimes be a bit choosy in what work they pick up, so we only called them up for some pretty standard, non-hybrid-specific issues, like a wheel bearing or a water pump. For both issues, they refused to work it. With the water pump especially, they made it clear the issue was that they refuse to work on any hybrids if the work is even mildly technical. They did refer me to a good shop for the job, but they also cleared the engine codes as well, so I couldnt show the next shop the error, which seems like a major misstep to me. Luckily, Id written down the engine codes from a previous mechanic so I didnt lose it, but others may not have been so lucky.Everyone Ive interacted with at Bear has been nice, and the work they actually performed has been without issue, but the way they go about their business makes it more and more difficult for me to utilize their services. At this point, Im giving up on them as my go-to mechanic as they simply refuse to do the sort of work that I need done.

I called to see how much an alignment would be for my car. Someone named Gary picked up, he told me it would be $65 plus tax. Which was fine. I then explained i had a bumper lip on my car, and asked if he would still be able to do it, or if i would have to remove it before hand. He then said “That’s not even something I’m interested in looking at” and then hung up on me. Not once was i rude to him, so to be treated the way he treated me was very uncalled for! Don’t expect business acting like that Mr. Gary!
