This place is my favorite frozen treat place downriver during the summer. I love the selection of rotating special flavors they have, and the vending machine with small tubs is super convenient (I usually bring a tub or two home with me).

Vending machine ate my money, after taking a handful of tries to get the money to stay in first place. Tried to get cookie dough, would take the $5 initially then spit a dollar back out every time I tried to select. Wouldn’t give me my change back so I ended up paying double for something I don’t want.

Good, really good ice cream. Extremely friendly staff, generous portions, good prices. Worth the stop but closing soon for winter.

My friend and I were happy they were open as the DQ was not. Gal there was working alone but very nice and friendly and took care of us quickly.

I went to this place expecting ice cream, but I found love instead. In the form of custard. My heart filled with apprehension as I approached the order window. What can I get for you? The man asked. I need guidance and counsel, I replied. What is best for me to get? Confused, the man responded, Well what do you like? Fruity? Chocolaty? My response, immediate and without hesitation was, Everything. For as lovers of the blessed, frozen dairy products, we do not discriminate between the ingredients or toppings thereof.Finally, it was made known unto me that the kids working there had a competition, a battle of two flavors. One was mocha, which I dont care for. So I naturally picked the Xtreme Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough shake by Joey. Well Joseph, I have one word for you. Transcendent. Magnificent. Incandescent.Essentially, what this divine confection consists of is vanilla custard, chocolate chips, chocolate, and more chocolate chip cookie dough per cubic inch than anything I have ever seen before. The only thing with more cookie dough per cubic in is probably a tub of cookie dough. I would posit that a fully-baked cookie has less cookie per cubic inch because it expands in the baking process. Im talking several thousand cookie dough chunks in my little cup. This man, Joey, should win the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in frozen desserts. Revolutionary.Disclaimer- If you dont like cookie dough, you probably wont like this dessert.

This was my favorite growing up, and always eternally compared to Bob Joes.But the last time I went the custard had some ice chunks or something in it. Lost a little bit of the smooth magic it had in the past. Will give it more chances.

I like this place, they have no sugar added ice cream options. Which is nice if youre diabetic and want a little treat. I get a kiddie size scoop, which is plenty for me.

Ok they have the most velvety custard around. The one across the street from them claims to be the best but they lie!!! Dont believe them and resist the urge to go there. Come here instead! Your tastebuds will thank you!!!!! I have tried their chocolate hot fudge Sunday a vanilla hot fudge Sunday and a flavor of the day hot fudge Sunday that was cherry and OMG they were all to the for. My husband got a large ice cream cone chocolate each time and he almost couldnt finish it! I do repeat ALMOST!

Good service and ice cream. The parking is difficult as it is right on the corner. So when it gets busy its difficult to get in and out. Better for walking to and especially nice on hot days when a street fair is going on.

Delicious custard, very great staff, attentive and kind and caring. I got a swirl cone, the likes of which you cannot purchase elsewhere on the planet. I rave about this place everywhere I go, school, work, church, funerals. Even mentioned it in my wedding speech. Go there or live the rest of your days unknowingly empty and unable to fill a void you were unaware even existed.

I’m the owner: Highest quality, outstanding service, great prices, fun atmosphere. Family and dog- friendly. Limited on-site parking, ample city parking along the street. Soft- serve custard (chocolate, vanilla, twist, flavor of the week), YOGURT (no sugar, no fat,) and regular creamy freeze. Also hand- scooped flavors, novelty/ popsicles, specialties (banana split, turtle, hot fudge brownie etc.) Outdoor walk- up with picnic tables, small lawn. Busy, fun evening atmosphere all summer long :-)

BEST. CUSTARD. EVER. My husband was a DQ fan his whole life, and Custard Corner has converted him. The featured flavors are always fun and tasty, and the staff is super friendly every time we go, even when they are beyond busy. We have also brought my parents, who are now frequent flyers as well! Everyone here is so friendly. I love coming to this place brings back memories of being a kid. My favorite is always getting a vanilla custard with sprinkles in a waffle cone because they do hand make their own waffle cones. In my opinion I believe that this is better than Bob Jo.

Love this place.. Its a shame a place went in across the street to directly compete against another Mom & Pop Ice Cream shop that had already been there for years.. Thats why Ill always support Custard Corner.. Plus, their custard is fantastic!

I absolutely love this place. It is by far the best custard ice cream Ive ever had. I dont get anything fancy, just a vanilla cone. Cant go wrong, the worst part is finding parking. Very small lot, but worth walking for.

A really nice family owned Custard Shop! The waffle cones were flavorful their custards are delicious. A really nice place, right outside of Elizabeth Park. The owner even has dog friendly ice cream for those of us the bring our dogs and Dog Sundaes! Im so excited about the family newest additional place called Rockys! Everyone is head over heels for Bob Joes, and while thats what I grew up with, Im glad I discovered CC. They are definitely one of the better custard joints, and they always have great flavors of the week. Pricing is also much better than most. Just be sure to park on W. Jeff, or at Elizabeth Park, because parking is odd here.

Awesome tasting custard and they have new flavors every week. Getting some custard and driving through the nearby park is always a good experience.

Long lines and a bit of a wait after order was taken, but all in all worth it. The Unicorn flurry, cookies and cream flurry and Boston creme cooler were delicious! And the heaping sizes werent too shabby! My kids enjoyed it!

Favorite place for frozen custard. Kind of cool they have a Cornhole setup in the grass behind the shop. Nice setup with picnic tables and plenty of room to roam around and eat your treats. Friendly staff and the custard has a fluffy and creamier texture that is by far superior to any of the other frozen custard places I have been to (Bob Jos and The Custard Hut).

This is some of the best ice cream Ive ever had. I highly recommend the Strawberry Shortcake. The girls that work the counter are always nice and quick to get your order up. I go every Friday with the family. Highly recommend.

Girl taking my order was rude, messed up my order. I purchased 4 items, two of them to go. Of the two I ate there, 1 was dipped in cherry and half of the cone was dipped. (Mess) The other cone was wrong. Was supposed to be a small, and received a kiddie. The two flurries ordered to go, and they came with lids that didnt fit. One lid had scotch tape to try and hold it on (didnt stick since the cup was dirty as well), and the other was smashed on the ice cream. By the time I made it home (5 mins.) there was ice cream all over my front seat from the cups leaking so bad. Extremely disappointed, especially since I used to frequent this establishment frequently.

Custard Corner is a local favorite in downriver Michigan. In my experience, the employees were very friendly and ensured we were safe and comfortable, even staying open later than their posted hours so we could buy ice cream and being non-judgemental towards an unconventional order. I would recommend Custard Corner if youre looking for friendly service or simply need to have a bowl of water for your dogs.
