Have been going to Three Coins intermittently for over 30 years ever since I was 8 years old with my father, also a coin collector too. The last time I visited the shop was just last week after living out-of-state for over a decade, and then recently moved back in the area. Noticed that demographic of the items they carry inside the shop which once used to be 2/3 coins and 1/3 sports, is now more like 3/4 sports and 1/4 coins and seems to be more oriented toward the sports collectibles while the display cases of coins has shrunk significantly. While I did purchase the coins I was looking for and wanted, and left quite satisfied, I was not sure if the shop will plan to continue to sell coins and accessories and may have what I need to add to my collection in the future. This is still a good place, but more for those who are into sports memorabilia.

We have been going here since the 90s . A few times a year we go to pick up our 1oz American Eagle coins. Fair price and your dealing with honest people.

As soon as I walked in, I received a warm greeting. The guy that helped me was very polite and helpful. I could tell that they were very honest and not trying to take advantage. He was very knowledgeable of everything and so helpful. I would recommend everyone to go here and I myself will definitely be returning. Great to see businesses operate this was and so professional.

Ive collected coins since my youth but I consider myself a novice. I like Three Coins because eventhough I dont have a lot of money to spend they have always appreciated my buisness.

Walked in with about 11 items(coins) some sets, some individual pieces. Took about 5 minutes and i had an offer. He knew fair market off the top of his head on most. The offer for 8 of the 11 pieces were identical to the number i had written on a piece of paper in my pocket(never pulled it out). The offer was so fair i didnt even want to insult them or bother countering. He wasnt asking for a very big profit on any item. Legit place and people. If you do a little research on your items and also understand they need to make a few dollars as a business, then i think you will walk out satisfied. I have zero affiliation with these people or business. I was just was treated fairly and thought Id share. Truly hope smaller places like this stay in business.Kris C

Needed some money a few times this summer and brought some coins in to sell. Always felt welcome and they bought everything I brought in with no hassle, while another place only wanted the higher value and more popular items. Last time I was there they quoted me a price to buy some gold coins from me, one for cash and a higher one for a check. When I got there they had run out of checks and still gave me the higher amount in cash, definitely good guys and honest. Very friendly and I hope that next time I go in it will be to buy something.

The guys are helpful if you have questions. They will leave you alone if you just want to look around for a while. They have a lot of stuff.

The owner (or the man who I believe is the owner) is a VERY rude person. I brought in some gold to get a price. He did take the time and tested and gave me a quote. I had also tested it before I came in. I spoke with him as he tested and inquired about a few things including his eBay store stating that I would rather buy local if I could (Which WAS true).After he quoted me, I told him thank you and that I wanted to get other quotes his demeanor changed and he became very rude. He told me to leave and not to come back because I wanted to shop around. Since he did the work to test it and talk to me he thought I was obligated to sell to him. At NO time did I tell him that I was going to sell to him I simply asked for his best price. I left per his instruction but told him to have a nice day and that I will NOT be coming back.He acted like a child who threw a tantrum when things didnt go his way exactly. I have bought and sold there in the past but never had the misfortune of dealing with him. Its sad that there are business owners out there who act like this and treat people so rudely. I wish I would have recorded his rudeness towards me so people could have seen it for themselves.My advice is to stay away from this store unless you plan on only doing exactly what the owner wants.Edit: The owner has changed his review 3 times now. I have not changed anything above this edit. 1 time trying to be apologetic, 1 time stating fake facts & 1 time agreeing with my review. I did not ask for any amount of money. I did not acquire these at garage sales. I was not educated on anything other than the fact that a standard nickel weighs 5 grams. Also, if you are looking to sell it is very prudent to shop around. I got MUCH more at another shop.

My experience was very enlightening to say the least!First of all greeting was fine told them I was there to sell and the one man does coins the other anything else. After meeting him he asked me what I have and I told him ive been collecting all my life many different things. He said what do you have ? I said I have a pedal car from 1960 a murray step side I completely restored shoed him a picture and he said so how much do you want for that I said I have $275 in it but they sell for $500-600 restored like this. He said well I cant pay you that. I interupted him and said so you cant pay the mechanic the ammount it cost to biild it im material. Thats excluding my labor cost. I said so what do you want to give me $100 that what it cost for the decals.So I told him I cant believe you can outright insult someone right to their face. and walked out so beware. These people have no respect for a good person and dont deal or bargain in a good faith. In fact just downright disrespectful.

Put it this way.. if i take the same gold ring to 3 downriver pawn shops and ask what theyll give me for it.. theyd alk say around the same price give or take. . EX: 45.00 .. OKAY so i take it to 3 coins in Trenton and ask him what hed give me for the exact same ring.. $125.00!! Im just sayin!
