Ditch the big box stores and support a local family owned and operated business.

First time coming in. The staff here is really helpful and friendly. Their showroom is stunning, they have a massive selection of products on display. Loved it and will definitely be returning for future material needs.

I had Mans do a small kitchen job. Ill admit there was a hiccup. I thought I would get brushed to the side with such a small paying job. But Jackie stepped in, took charge and made everything right. Jackie made me feel like I was important to Mans and corrected everything. I highly recommend Mans Lumber for your kitchen upgrades and would trust them to do my next project.

I read a couple of the other reviews and was shocked. Im in the process of building a cedar fence in my backyard, I didnt want to use the cheap panels that the big box stores sell. First, the big box stores dont even sell 2x4 cedar, I thought that was odd. Anyway, I called Mans. They had them, Id never been there before, and its about a 25 minute drive for me. The quality of the cedar was excellent. So, I priced out the 1x6 pickets as well. One of the employees let me know that he would be getting a shipment in a couple of days, and it would save me some additional money. The quality of that cedar was excellent as well. But this review isnt about the quality of the wood. Its about the employees. They were helpful, courteous, and professional. They know what theyre talking about, and are happy to help. From the gentlemen at the counter to the young man helping me load my vehicle, everyone was excellent. In this day and age of rudeness, it was a great experience all the way around, theyve earned a new customer.

Lumber prices are almost always way better than the big box stores. I just spent almost half of what I would have at Lowes for the same pieces of cedar. Better selection too. It is a lumber yard so I expect that but still. Customer service is great, the guys are super friendly.

On June 5 I chose to go to Mans Lumber to buy 100 studs for a current project at my house. The price was a bit higher than the orange big box store, $2.45 vs $2.17, and they also charged $50 for delivery that I would not have been charged at the other store but a family member assured me that the quality of wood is great. When the wood arrived on June 6 it appeared decent, not the best but definitely not the worst. I chose to roll the bundle into the garage and use it on Sunday when I had family coming over to help with the project. On Sunday morning I finally broke into the bundle and what the wood looked like was a disgrace. My father asked if I just ordered the cheapest (worst) wood I could. Bottom line, choose another place, even a big box store will have better quality.

Possibly the worst customer service I have ever recieved. The first thing I noticed was the dirty dishes in the sink of one of the kitchen showrooms, after waiting a while, one of the salespeople approached my wife and I, didnt introduce herself, and in her most disinterested tone, offered to help us. Mind you, no one else was in the place, now I know why. I explained I wanted to update my kitchen and gave her the dimensions, she took the paper I had them written on, and disappeared for so long I began to think she got lost. With no explanation of any products, she returned and pointed at some cabinets and said start their. Now keep in mind, I had just left Kretts kitchen and baths in Wyandotte where I received a Guesstimate of $14000-$17000, which I told her.She said she might be able to find something, but I wouldnt have much to select from. She then proceeded to laugh in my face about the guestimate, and said she might be able to piece something together in the $20000 range. Now, I could have paid that, and I wanted to spend more on some other projects, but I wont spend a dime at Mans, they were all too busy chatting and eating amongst themselves. Go see Bill at Kretts in Wyandotte.

I went in looking at cabinets and trim. I was dressed in my clothes I wear for painting chores so I was a bit dirty. The woman in sales saw me looking at some cabinets and said those are our high end cabinets you probably want to look at these over here insinuating I was some bum that wandered in off the streets. I smiled at the young woman who herself was dressed quite sloppily, held my tongue, and went down the street and bought $20k worth of Thomasville cabinets....I found it quite amusing
