Sales is excellent. Service is severely lacking. Dropped of my car at 8:30am for a 10:15am appointment. Not until 2:30pm did I receive an update on my service, telling me the repairs to my brakes, a problem I reported to the same service department 12,000 miles ago, would push the completion into the next day. At 12pm the next day I checked in at the service center for an update. I was forced to sit in the waiting room for more than an hour without any update. They claim they have no loaner cars available, potentially forcing me to incur additional expenses for what should be a routine 18000 mile service. At 1:15 pm,I finally received an update, telling me it should be around another hour, while they install new rotors and pads. I was told that there was a technical service bulletin for the pad issue, but I had to wait until it caused additional damage to my rotors for me to be notified, potentially endangering my well-being while driving. As most Ascent buyers are aware, the Ascent has experienced these brake problems since the vehicles inception. Thankfully this will be covered under warranty. They did make right due to the delays and hassle, but with issues missed by technicians, and little communication along the way, theres still room for improvement.

I have a Subaru Crosstrek with 95k+ miles. Car had some recalls and needed some TLC. I decided that it was best to just go to the dealership rather than any other car garage for what the car needed. I havent taken my car to the dealership since buying the car.Haldeman Subaru just happened to be the closest dealership to my new apartment. I dropped off my car, borrowed a loaner and picked it up the next day.Unfortunately this is where frustrations started arising; Some new things came up within a week of dropping it off. I was able to get another appointment to have those new issues checked out, great! Dropped it off again the week after, 8am before work. The loaner car I was promised was never put down for me, I had to miss half a day of work while the team sorted out my car once again! I was able to get everything fixed up a couple hours later.Im writing this review and giving the Haldeman Subaru team a solid 5/5 rating because of the service I was given. They really do care about people here. People make mistakes, sh!t happens. Its about the experience and how you make up for those mistakes. Thank you Mike and Ed for all the hard work and help on this crazy Monday morning. I highly recommend Haldeman Subaru and their Services crew!!

My experience with my salesman Drew was excellent. He asked what we wanted in a car and showed us our choices. After driving them and having a few to choose from, he had the numbers run so we could make our final decision. No hassles or dragging on to up sell us. Everything went smoothly. he was very fast also. We were there around 3 hours from start to finish. Highly recommend you going to Haldeman Subaru and ask for Drew.

If you would like to pay more for less options this is the place to go. Went to try and get an ascent they wanted to give me 1000 discount. They said that is a great discount and could not get more elsewhere. Went to 2 other dealers and they each wanted to give me more then 3 times as them, and one of those ascents came with more options. BEFORE YOU BUY FROM THEM RESEARCH OTHER DEALERS TO SAVE SO MUCH MORE.

This was my first time buying a new car from a dealership. I shopped around, but went with Haldeman Subaru for many reasons! They provided the best service and attention through out the entire process! The inventory was fantastic. I received the best rate here. I hate car shopping, but this place is truly amazing, our salesman Joe Bailey was so patient with us,in purchasing a car for our daughter. Whom just got her license .we wanted something used but a great deal and most importantly safety first. After test driving several cars and a,couple of trips back and forth.Joe Bailey found us the perfect car. Not only did this salesman go above and beyond, the whole dealership was so friendly and kind,from the minute we walked in everyone we met said Hello. The showroom was spotless and we learned this company really stands behind their products. Subaru is the way to go for looks,safety and price, well worth every penny. Be aware of this dealership. We purchased a Subaru Ascent, finalized the deal and after that they crashed the car before delivery. We had to cancel the deal. Even after all these the salesperson tried to cook up the carfax and sell the same car.Extremely unprofessional.

Service department needs lots of improvement. Poor customer service and over priced. My bill was more than what they first told me on the phone and when I ask why the lady at the counter told me. It is nobody to answer that right now, and I can’t release the car if you don’t pay. I wasn’t refusing to pay, I just wanted to know why my bill was more. This was my experience in the first service of my new car.

I came in with a ridiculously low quote from a dealership in North Jersey, and I did not think they would be able to match it, but I wanted to see the car they had on their lot. I recently had service done on my 2010 Subaru Forrester. I was in an accident almost 2 years ago and another dealership did the repairs on the car. It has never been quite right. I continuously heard some noises in the car that made me feel a little unsafe. Two other service centers told me that they couldnt find the origin of the noises and that the car was structurally sound. Tony (at this service center) was very attentive to every detail of what my husband and I described and he, and the rest of the staff, worked for many hours to discover the issues that we were having. When I got the car back, it was so quiet!! It is running beautifully and feels brand new. Regardless of the many hours I know they spent on the car, they gave us a very fair price. I will definitely return for service in the future!

I am in New Jersey for work from out of state. One day at my job a landscaper was trimming around a tree ( what were they trimming? Its March..) and they threw a rock through the side window of my brand new Crosstrek. I drove to Haldeman Subaru this past Tuesday because they are close to my job.I was met by Eric C. and he took all my info and told me hed call when the glass came in. I was told originally it couldnt be done for a week but on Friday morning I got a call saying the glass was in and they could install it if I came in.I drove to the dealership and they took the car right in and within two hours i was good to go. The did a great job and even washed my car for me. I know that dealerships usually do that, but because I couldnt do it where im staying it was a big deal to me.Everyone I dealt with at the dealership and on the phone was very nice and professional. The waiting room was clean and they get bonus points for showing Uncle Buck on the tv.Excellent experience overall.

I had taken my car to Haldeman Subaru for multiple services since 4 years. 2 times it has happened that Haldeman Subaru has filled engine oil as part of service and it turns out that engine low check comes after 1.5 k miles or so. After this has happened second times; I got my car checked up at another place today and they showed me engine oil level. It was very low and there is no engine oil leakage. Haldeman Subaru never filled the engine oil.They have lost my trust. I would never recommend Haldeman Subaru to my family and friends. I hope Haldeman Subaru completes the work as per customer request and someone within the dealership checks whether the work has been actually completed.

This is my first ever Google review and ashamed it is this negative. HOWEVER PEOPLE NEED TO READ THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED. I took delivery of my 16 STI from Haldeman Subaru and Dirk was great to work with. This review is about the joke of a service department Haldeman has. I brought my car in for a check engine light and I noticed a wire for the evap system was chewed along with insulation by rodents. This was after not being able to reach them by phone. I brought it in and received nothing but attitude from Dean who works the service department. No loaners available and had to leave my car. Following Monday I call and again no pick ups. I asked to speak to the service manager who called me back a couple hours later. He apologized for the short staffing and the demeanor which I give him credit for. He then told me sorry to break this to you but you need an entire engine wiring harness which will cost around $1,400 with labor. So I had to go through my insurance. My insurance sends an adjuster to review the damage and what do you know... It ends up being only the evap sensor wire that was chewed. Not a single need for the harness. My insurance estimates parts $11.00, labor 2 hours. I call them right away and Dean does not want to give me a price until my insurance sends an estimate. I go first thing this morning and talk to Dean again. He confirmed what the adjuster found. I tell him its very strange and off putting that a $1,400 job turns into $130 job after my adjuster came in. He states the tech thought it was the harness originally. So it is going to be $230 plus tax to repair everything. After all this I say give me my keys Im going elsewhere. He says did your insurance tell you about the charge for the diagnostic check? Its $109. I tell him well Im not paying for it. He says ok and gives me my keys without a word. I take my car to a local shop with a Subaru tech and for $250 fixed the problem and found my wiper fluid line had been eaten away. REALLY?! Haldeman subaru didnt tell me anything about this! New shop included that with the $250. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO A TRUSTWORTHY PLACE! Oh and when i got into my car in the dealer lot, they left my e brake down.... Cant even park a manual car. Attached are photos of what was fixed and how I found my car.

Bought a car some years ago from them and it was a simple process so I sent my daughter to this dealership in late August, 2020 She gave them all the financial info and they ran the credit check. Everything was great. On Sept 9, after being approved and after they drew up the paperwork she went in to pick up the car and sign for it. (As an aside, she was ridiculed for reading the paperwork before signing.) Once she took possession, thats when the nightmare began, and still going on 6+ weeks later. It is the single worst experience Ive ever had with a car (Ive leased and purchased 6 or 7 cars from other places without any issues ever. Normally its a one day process --maybe a second day if there is some paperwork to complete.) First they did the paperwork wrong and as a result we werent in the computer system so we couldnt pay bills or even access any account. Then when we tried to fix this they said she didnt qualify --despite having already approved her and given her the car! Then, after no less than 20 additional calls by us (all to various managers) they agreed she could have the car that they had already given her and which she had already made 2 payments on. Now, 6+ weeks later they are still finalizing paperwork and making her jump through hoops. They made so many internal errors, none of which they caught until we called repeatedly saying we need to get the billing address straightened out so we could pay on time. As a result they literally had to send 2 sets of temp plates because they took so long to address the problems. Now they require all sorts of extra nonsense (like us waiting at fedex to get forms necessary to re-register the car). Had we known what we know now we would have gotten a car from literally ANYONE else.

Lack of customer service. You need to totally revamp the way you register and follow up with customers. I truly believe that after my recent two transactions w/your Subaru repair that the customer service manager for Subaru is doing too many jobs. When I ask for a specific service, I would like confirmation of the findings of that service. All I got was that your done and my paperwork gets transferred to the cashier - no discussion - basically read the paperwork. You give the paperwork to the cashier w/o allowing the customer to look the paperwork. Your cashiers are not knowledgeable and only take money. If I make an appointment, I should be able to walk in, give the name to the initial contact and they should see it in your computer system.

Al was incredible, he helped me through everything and knew more about Mustangs than any salesman I have ever met. The whole team there was great and kind. I was discouraged when I pulled into the parking lot at Haldeman Subaru because I had just received such poor treatment at another Subaru dealership. However, that feeling changed dramatically once I walked into Haldeman and met Antony Jaquez. First, Antony was polite, optimistic, and respectful. I explained to him that I didn’t need him to “sell” me a car because I love my Legacy and just wanted to trade it in for a new one since my lease was up. He smiled and replied that the Subaru quality doesn’t require him to “sell” to people because the cars speak for themselves. This was true, I have been loyal to Subaru for over ten years and hope that never changes. Immediately put at ease (I don’t like the pressure of “sales” people), I explained what I wanted to pay per month and Antony did his absolute best to meet my goals. Antony and the sales manager, Michael Manna, went above any beyond to make sure I left with, not only a new car, but a restored faith in Subaru. They worked and reworked the numbers to help me get as close to my “dream” payment as possible. The level of customer service provided by both Michael and Antony was above and beyond anything I have experienced in the past. Not only were both of them personable, accommodating, and knowledgeable, but they both made me feel like I wasn’t just another “customer.” Do Subaru cars sell themselves? Yes. However, in this case, the reason that I drove home in a fabulous new car, was solely due to the character of Michael and Antony. I will never go anywhere else and would encourage others to visit Haldeman Subaru as well.

Spoke with Lynn and made an appointment for Saturday, Mar 16, 2019. I specifically asked for a female saleswomen. She reported they had several cars of the type I was looking to buy. When I arrived after 30 minutes travel time I was not greeted on entering but there were a couple gentlemen sitting at the table laughing and talking. I asked for the female sales person and they giggled like little boys there are not women sales staff here.Lynn was on the phone and she sent a very nice young gentleman and he showed me one car. They did not have others that fit the conditions I mentioned to Lynn on the phone.Looking over other complaints the story is the same. Lynn lied when she said she would provide female assistance, lied about having multiple cars. She even offered to handle the sale but she isnt certified so she cant actually sell on.Just to let you know... I purchased a Toyota Rav4 yesterday, red with all the buttons and bows. Subaru may be an excellent car but Haldeman needs to clean up its act and understand that women buy cars different than men and we prefer to have a sales person who understands that and the current sales staff needs to act professional and enthusiastic.

It is mixed experience, overall experience is good related to the purchase was good but the promises made by the sales team while buying the car related to the finance apr was 3.29% with 750 credit score but at the end they came up with 4.39%. I didn’t understand what happened there so I called the bank and asked the bank they said it came from the dealership and went back to dealership and they said the it was bank so don’t believe them on finance. They will lie and make you sign the deal they didn’t even go through the finance documents with me. Don’t take their finance. Make your own arrangements. Just be careful with sales team.

I just recently bought a 2019 Forester Sport and I freaking love it. The car is awesome!, but the service at Haldeman was above all else. The process was quick and easy. Staff were a joy to work with. This is my first Subaru, and this will likely make me a Subaru customer for life now, and it’ll be Haldeman if I’m still in this area.P.S. This review is for service.I had my 60K service for my Subaru Forester done at Haldeman Subaru. After about 3000 miles the low oil level lamp came on. The car takes synthetic oil which Subaru recommends changing it at 6000 miles. I had other oil changes done by other Subaru dealer since then, with no low oil warnings after 5000 miles driven. Cannot trust them!

Ive known Dean (in Service) for as long as Ive owned my 2011 Outback. Hes always honest and transparent and will give me the rundown on what needs immediate attention versus what can be taken care of later. Because he knows my car, I cant imagine going anywhere else. After repeatedly confirming pricing with sales manager over the phone and having them find the vehicle I wanted to purchase and traveling an hour to this dealer they decided to try to give me a higher price than what we agreed. I repeatedly asked that any quote include all pricing for a vehicle that met my desired specs and accessories and they generated several quotes. When it came time to buy the car Mike (sales manager) said they had already met their quota and didn’t have any reason to take a hit selling at the price we had agreed to. Obviously this was a scam he planned on running from the beginning in a failed attempt to con money out of a customer. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere as the number one priority should be dealing with an honest dealer that is going to make sure you have a great experience and not waste your time.

John did a great job helping us select a model with the options we were looking for - and helping us pick out a color - and following up with us after the sale. Lynn (internet sales) did a great job getting us the pricing information and setting up the appointment. Steve treated us fairly in evaluating our trade. Dave (technical guy) was very patient while reviewing all of the technical packages. Absolutely love this dealership. Had to buy a new outback because are 2015 outback was totaled, but saved our lives. Not a scratch on us. So we looked at some vehicles in the lot and then walked into the dealership and was greeted by Al Fonseca who is very knowledgeable with Subaru.2 hours later we had bought a 2019 outback and we love it. A week later we went back for a lesson from Rashan who went over the whole vehicle with us, to get us comfortable with all the new technology. The whole experience was fantastic. I love my Subaru and the color of the car. The product itself is great-- which is the only reason I gave the review over 1 star. I would have thought initially that my experience with Haldeman Subaru would be perfect. When I purchased a new Subaru, I also purchased a warranty (Auto Butler) and explained that I might have to move out of the area to Delaware. The salesman explained that Auto Butler is taken care of in all 50 states. This is simply not true. When I moved to Delaware, the Auto Butler is not available anywhere. I notified Haldeman and explained that fulfilling the warranty required a 4 hour round trip to Haldeman twice a year--which is impossible for me. Haldeman then offered to have someone drive to Delaware and provide the service. They now return NO calls to set up an appointment to pick up the car. Ive called multiple times, and they never return any call nor give any refund. This is very disappointing service. Though Haldeman initially said they would refund the cost of the Auto Butler, they now refuse to return any call or give a refund as promised. Though Subaru produce itself is great, the service at Haldeman is very frustrating.

A body shop, which had repaired deer collision damage to my 2018 Outback, returned the car with several problems, most notably a taped-over grille shutter which resulted in a Check Engine light and numerous failures in the Eyesight functions. Service writer Dean supervised the fix and everything is fine now.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! Took my car for a tire rotation and ended up having my car damaged and a noise coming from the front side of my car. I ended up bringing the car in on three separate occasions and I had them tell me it was uneven wear on my tires, then the third time they tell my all my rims are bent and need to be repaired for $250 a rim which is a complete ripoff. Not to mention a few months earlier I was charged $4000 to have my brakes fixed which again is insane and Im crazy for believing what they had to say. Avoid this place at all costs, trying to take advantage of people who dont have an idea about cars

I was very impressed with the sales experience. My wife sold her 2001 Ford Explorer SporTrac to her nephew, so we needed to replace a family vehicle quickly. I was at the dealers on a Friday and saw a truck I wanted. I left a message for the salesperson I had in 2009, when i brought our 2009 Ford Flex. The salesperson called me on Saturday at 9am and by 12:30pm I was driving off the lot with my new 2012 Ford F150. This was a great experience. They listened to my needs, what I wanted, and came back with a great offer. I would recommend Haldeman Ford.

Its a cal dealership, what do you want?The waiting room for car service is nice enough. Coffee provided. They also have a quiet room, which is nice if you want to be away from all the customers checking in and out.My 2nd service was about an hour. Standard.

We love the car and wish we could say the same for the dealership. Currently we are driving with an expired temporary registration and were told the manager was out and would call us the next day. So far no call.We have called about this several times.We had previously leased another brand from another dealership and had no such problems.

Called for info. Lynn says several cars and they have a female sales staff. Drove a 1/2 hour not NJ to get there. Only 1 used subaru and no female staff at all...ever. Bought a Toyota that day somewhere else. Dont believe a word they say.

They price your trade so low it’s border line insulting then when you want to think over prices and call back the next day they don’t even bother to return your phone call! - Keep moving and find another Subaru dealership there’s plenty of others! Had an appointment to buy a car and they sell the car the day before. They didnt even call to let us know. If we hadnt looked on the website and saw that the listing was marked as sold we would have driven 45 miles to find out we went there for nothing. Very unprofessional and definitely will not buy from them in the future.

Although Ive talked to most of the service reps at one point, Paul from the Subaru service department is amazing! He has helped me so much with my Subaru. When the warranty company was giving us some trouble or dragging their feet Paul went to battle for me. Hes been such a great person to deal with always friendly and helping me out whenever he can. When the motor on my Subaru blew, Paul would call me every time there was a new update on the progress. Kevin is a wonderful mechanic and I trust him with all the work on my car. I trust his advice and his ability to make my car as good as new. Altogether Ive had a great experience with everyone from this dealership.
