These guys really do top notch work. I spent a little too much on the car as old as it is, however, we are still in the pandemic and it is not the best time to buy a car. Ive used these folks in the past, and I will be using them again in the future.

Replacement of thermostat housing. Cutting edge $300 cheaper than any other mini Cooper mechanic in the town of Santa Fe. Very surprised. Mechanic of the future for my 2012 mini Cooper Coop S. Repaired in a matter of hours. Even drove 5 MI to pick me up at my house to pick up my own vehicle. Even got a $30 discount for being a first time customer. What more could I ask for? If there were 10 Stars cutting edge would get them. A very satisfied customer.

Chad is very knowledgeable and kind! His shop is big and so clean! His office staff are also kind and knowledgeable !! I’m having differential and suspension work done on my fj with a 6” lift. He’s guiding us along and fixing details our last mechanic has missed. His pricing seems fair and there is a explanation for everything! We’re picking his brain now about some upgrades! On our way home from a family vacation, our brakes stopped working, almost completely!! After some research and calling around, we narrowed it down to either the brake booster or vacuum pump. My husband and I arent mechanics, and wouldnt even know where to begin, so we started calling around. We were able to get in with Cutting Edge right away! They took us to a hotel, picked us up, and had us back on the road in less than 24 hours!! They were so kind, so professional, and Im pretty sure they gave us a great deal based on what I saw in several forums online. 5/5 stars, I would recommend them to everyone!!!!!!! Cutting Edge seems competent but overcharges for inspection and brake repairs. I was quoted $850 and told that this included front brake repairs, a headlight tweak, and a necessary oil change, which albeit high, I agreed to. To their credit, they did reduce the inspection fee. However, a month later my oil light went on. I called, and the manager stated that they never did an oil change nor included it in the quote. Essentially, I felt like I was tricked into a high quote, believing it included an oil change, and the manager told me this never happened. Dodgy...

While traveling through Santa Fe our Cayenne needed service. We read the reviews for the Cutting Edge Automotive and were delighted. We went in to make an appointment and we were appalled with the front office representative. She had a half shirt that you could see through without a brassiere and piercings in that area. Her low cut jeans revealed lower pelvis tattoos. This was Very unprofessional needless to say we were disgusted. We found another repair shop that I will also review for the great prompt service. Cutting Edge was a disappointment.

Everyone at Cutting Edge Automotive was very friendly and professional. They made me feel welcome and happy to have my business. They were prompt and so helpful, driving me over to my office so I could unload my things for the day. They called when my car was ready and gave clear instructions on when to come back to check the lines for any possible leakage. I was traveling across the US when I ran into some mysterious engine trouble with my Sprinter. After limping into Santa Fe, I was fortunate enough to find Cutting Edge Automotive.After explaining my situation to Kim, she managed to squeeze me in for an emergency diagnosis and repair on a Friday even though they were fully booked. Just a few hours later, Cutting Edge left me with a van that was running better than ever. They kept me in the loop the entire time and went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I came in to Cutting Edge with a gas leak in my 2015 Volvo V-60. The leak was most apparent when the tank was full. Thats pretty much what I told them when I dropped the car off. Tommy worked on the car and discovered that I had brought him an interesting problem. The cars Check Engine light was on because mice had chewed through the gas line coming out of (or maybe going into) the fuel pump. Tommy showed me photographs to illustrate what had happened. I think every auto-repair shop ought to have to show photos of damage, whatever it is. At Cutting Edge, this looks like standard operating procedure. The visit my V-60 made here wasnt cheap - but I felt like I got my moneys worth.

I took my Toyota in to get an overall inspection, especially the axles and brakes. I was told on the phone that inspections are $140 (which I thought was expensive). When I went to pay, there was an added $12 for supplies. I asked about what supplies were used, I was told it was to lift my car up so the mechanics could look at it. Now $12 is not that much, but how the business added unexpected bills was to me very unethical.

FYI comrades, listen up! Last week was my first visit to Cutting Edge Automotive and it was an absolute 10. From Kim at the front desk, to a follow up with Chad, the owner, I felt listened to and absolutely taken care of in a professional manner. I can’t say enough about how great this place is! I am on a cross country road trip and had an issue with my car starting after refueling..they squeezed me in the same day, diagnosed the issue, and ordered/replaced the part within less than 24 hours, all for an incredibly reasonable price. They also gave us a loaner car while they worked on mine! Kim was fantastic with communication and follow-up. Finding a trustworthy auto shop on the road is a near impossible feat, but they are the exception, I would trust them with anything. I wish they were in my hometown! I had my car serviced to get the starter replaced. I don’t think they replaced the starter, and then when it started having issues again, they charged me another $200, and it’s still not fixed. I wanted to support my local shop, but this stuff is unacceptable. Stop being lazy and swindling people for money.

I live in Austin, Texas and traveled to I Sante Fe- then Colorado in vacation. I have a Mercedes-Benz, 2017, GLS450 SUV with about 76,000 miles. While driving ti Sante Fe the HVAC was blowing but not cool air. Once I got to Sante Fe I called the local Mercedes Dealer. They were swamped and could not get to me for 2 weeks ×/_. I decided to go local and found Cutting Edge Automotive. They were GREAT! Took my SUV in same day at 8 am. Did diagnostic, added freon with dye. When AC quit after I drove it a mile, I took it back ti Cutting Edge. That ruled out a leak. They dug further. Found SUV needed a compressor + 2 other parts. They said they could have it done the next day. I had to leave so could not wait and went on to Colorado. Cutting Edge could have tried ti take advantage of a traveler but they did not. I could not recommend this place less. Cutting Edge asked to charge us $10,000 yes $10,000 to “replace the CVT transmission” in our Subaru cross trek. Went to a second place, because we were incredibly sketched out, and at the Subaru dealership here in Santa Fe we found out all that needed to be replaced is the Valve Body for $1700. Please please travelers and locals alike, ask questions and trust your intuition if you choose to go here. I’m so relieved we were able to go somewhere else.

The check engine light on my Mercedes ML 350 needed diagnosing and Cutting Edge was able to get me in the next day and could not have been more professional and courteous ensuring that I understood fully what the error code was and also doing a thorough review of the truck and finding that the brake fluid also needed to be replaced. These services were performed at a very reasonable price. All in all, an excellent experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Cutting Edge Automotive again if I ever am in the Santa Fe area.

My engine light came on in my Mercedes SUV.Stopped by Cutting Edge to find out what was wrong. It was an electrical malfunction. The technician found a mouse nest under my backseat. The mice had chewed the wires around the nest so all that wiring had to be replaced. I imagine that was a very tedious process. Peppermint oil and mothballs were placed strategically to prevent any future problems. Im happy with the work, how I was treated and thought the charges to be very fair. My friends have Mercedes and I have recommended they try Cutting Edge.

My recently acquired 2000 BMW z3 looks amazing but it didn’t feel great to drive. It was like any 20 year old car, not what I’d imagined a roadster would drive like. Cutting Edge got me in for an alignment right away. Plus, when I asked last minute if they could check out some other things, they happily included a free 360 full inspection without any commitment from me. They stayed in constant communication while they had my car and they didn’t do anything without my approval. They gave me a thorough list of necessary repairs and maintenance needs, with details and a separate estimate for each. They even indicated what the priorities were. They didn’t push me to do more than I could afford. Everyone I talked to was friendly and informative. And, now my 20 year old car is driving like a rock star. They definitely earned my trust on this initial visit.

When you don’t have family on this side of the country to help it’s nice to find a place like Cutting Edge to step in and save you.Purchased a truck rack and a couple other items online that I just couldn’t install on my own. So I asked these kind folks to do it. Took the whole day but they gave me a loaner car (who does that anymore?) so I could run all my errands.Same issue with having a roof tent installed. Too heavy for me to lift so I shipped it to them and Chris, their technician, did it in no time.Felt very taken care of and the work was done professionally and without issue. Really glad I took a chance on this company and I know they’ll take care of me should any issues arise.

My husband and I were traveling through Santa Fe when our car needed service. We took it to Cutting Edge and at the time our car had NO PROBLEMS. We went to pick it up on Saturday and were ready to hit the road. They young guy in the office pulled it out of the garage and proceeded to charge us. When we got in the car to leave the dash lights were on. He knew this when he pulled it out but played dumb and charged us anyway. We were appalled! Needless to say we could NOT leave town as planned and had to stay 2 extra days. But they did lend us a car, a very dirty car.

I took my car in due to several service lights coming on. They were able to get me in last minute (on a Saturday). I did have to wait a few days to find out what was wrong, but they loaned me a car for no charge. In the end, they were very eager to provide me with a good experience, and were willing to help lower the cost of the necessary work. But the parts were just more than my car was worth, so I didnt have it done. They did a good job replacing the headlight and diagnosing the other problems, and tried their best to help me with my vehicle. Id use them again.

I had new wheels and snow tires drop shipped to Cutting Edge from Tire Rack. The day they were delivered, I stopped by the shop to set up an appointment. I was able to get in the next morning. The staff was very friendly and the work was done on time as they indicated. I’ll be using Cutting Edge for future work on my car. While there, I discovered they were certified Audi mechanics. The closest Audi service center is inAlbuquerque. They will be much more accessible to me as I recently moved to Santa Fe.

I own a 2005 SLK350 blessed with many problems. Cutting Edge did an analysis, and provided a list of things needing attention, divided into current needs and future needs. We have started fixing the safety issues first. All has gone very well. Everybody has been excellent, including mechanics and office staff.

Cutting Edge Automotive is a wonderful and honest mechanic/automotive repair shop. They identified issues in my 20 year old Volvo that the dealership in Santa Fe never mentioned. They work with you to ensure that not only are you getting the best service, but youre getting that service at a reasonable and honest price. I wouldnt trust my car to anyone else. Not to mention their oil change on my car was done cheaper than at other businesses, and they only use high quality oil.

As a new resident to Santa Fe, I had no established relationship with an automotive shop. I broke down and called. The team coordinated towing and a loaner car within 15 minutes of calling. They replaced a fuel pump within 24 hours and I was back on the road. Amazing customer service!

I was referred to cutting edge by Kathleen from Angelos in Santa Fe, another great garage.I was driving x country heading home to NYC when I noticed a very tiny oil leak. I went in and was warmly greeted by Kim, Liz and Chris. They took care of me right away even though they were busy. Chris put my Land Rover on the lift while I was waiting in the office and came to get me 15 minutes later.He explained to me that my transfer case gasket needed to be replaced. My concern was that finding parts on a weekend in Santa Fe wouldn’t be easy. Chris put me at ease and reassured me by telling me that it was a small leak, that he will tighten the bolts and that I should make it back without a problem, and I did.He added oil to the transfer case and transmission, and, instead the of charging me his standard $140, I was only charged $85. I was told my check engine light would be reset was never completed . After I got the car back there was a really loud sound coming from the back of the car when I step on brakes . Almost like A clunking sound I didn’t hear before I took it in . I’m just at a loss for words. And to makes matters worse when I try to explain or ask questions and understand why these services are so highly only to create another issue for me they tell me will nothing in life is free !!! Which really offended me because I have never thought nothing in life is free . I have always worked very hard for my things so with that being said I thought it was such uncomfortable experience but I never learn my lesson.But I’m done !!!!

I had a big job done here--engine swap on my BMW 325i (E30) and Alden did a great job. Stayed within budget, did a bunch of extra stuff not billed for, and was extremely good at communicating via email and in person as to exactly what was going on and why. I didnt always understand everything he said, but he certainly made the effort to articulate everything. Not many competent mechanics are that articulate. The staff (Kim) is always upbeat and friendly and this is a very well-run shop.

They wanted to charge me $550 for just the part cost of an alternator for my Volvo 240. When I confronted them about the fact that the part costs $160, the man I spoke to mumbled for a bit and then apologized and said they could charge me $280 for the part cost, all in all they wanted $1000 for changing an alternator and a timing belt on a 240. I paid them their $150 diagnosis fee and took my car to Bobs who quoted me $600 for the same job. Then they emailed me and texted me asking me to leave a review on google.

Friendly, fast, great customer service! I had a check engine light, called and they were able to see me bright and early the next day. Diagnosed it and were able to fix, replace and refill all my fluids (differential, brake, power steering, transmission) also replace a vaccum hose by 3:30 because I had class @ 4. They went out of their way to accommodate me, they also shuttled me to and from my house. I was going through a tough time... and to top it off, my Volvo was having transmission issues. Another repair place recommended Chad at Cutting Edge. They explained everything well, and told me what needed repaired now vs what could wait. They not only put in a new transmission, but took the time to test it out. Its been a month, and their repairs resulted in a noticeable difference in my car. Excellent customer service, and excellent repair work. They are pros.

I took my car there three times for the same problem the Electronic Throttle Sensor was going on and off making the car run badly. They ignored what I told them the problem was an instead reset the codes. So I researched the problem myself and found the throttle body needed cleaned or replaced. So I made an appointment to drop the car and have the throttle body cleaned. Instead the mechanic just sprayed who knows what, overspray onto the rest of the top of the motor and needless to say didnt fix a Damn thing. So I did it myself in 20 minutes. They charged me 150 bucks for nothing because after cleaning it correctly the problem stopped. So investigating further I also found they put a thermostat that is so big the car takes 25 minutes to warm up, so Ill be replacing that too. All the other work they done seems fine but now I wonder. They offered me my money back but so what? 150 wont cover the unseen damages to my vehicle. I personally want every dime I ever spent there returned, labor, parts and paid for my time they have wasted chasing things that dont relate to what I tell them is wrong. Horrible place.

Was referred to Cutting Edge for my 2006 Audi A6 repairs and maintenance and after taking my A6 here for the first time because of a check engine light (vacuum leak) these guys have earned my confidence and future business. The shop owner was very helpful in getting my cars problem diagnosed quickly and explaining the cost for the repair. The owner really went above and beyond when he put in a temp fix on the problem until I order the replacement part - all at no cost, just as a courtesy.

I broke down in my motorhome on Memorial day weekend with my son and 4 dogs. The mechanic that replaced my fuel pump earlier in the year did a very poor job. Cutting Edge was amazing! They replaced the fuel pump and some other small parts and were extremely professional and gracious with my situation. I am very happy with the services Cutting Edge provided and I will never hesitate to use them again.

Went here first time for a brake booster replacement and brake fluid bleed and flush. Brought a new booster with me to put in. Showed them the new gasket for master cylinder to booster. Its still in box with old booster. ? Brake fluid reservoir was not topped up, Im talking down 1 inch!? They topped it before I left, and let me know what I had suspected, the master cylinder may be bad, then when I got home and bled more air out, there were no caps on any of the bleed nipples. I had brand new ones on them, mechanic never put them back. ? I wouldve given them more work, but sloppy job. Nice people but dont like whoever was responsible for the work.

Had extensive work done. After about 100 miles my serpentine belt fell off and got shredded. I took it back expecting them to deal with it, since part of the over 1k worth of work theyd done a week earlier involved having to take off the belt. Verbally assured theyd fix it on their dime, they strung me out all day and then tried to get +400.00 more out of me. I got out of there for 75.00, pissed off and suspicious. Why? Well, they insisted that although yes they had put the old belt back on, the problem was due to an air compressor issue making the belt jump off, not their work. Its jumping all over the place, its not going to stay on was the quote from the mechanic when I asked to speak with him. I took the car elsewhere where they could NOT see any problem with jumping and have since driven it several hundred miles with no problems at all. Does gender have anything to do with it? Im not sure, but it appears I was flat out lied to. Dont go there.
