Needed a smog check to get my daughters car registered...it failed! Code P0420....catalytic converter (moan!!)Took it to Dave at Rubidoux Smog & Muffler and was immediately made to feel like a valued customer. Took the time to explain various options and why some would be poor choices costing me more money in the long run.He tried to remedy the issue without replacing the converters (who knew some cars have more than one?) in an attempt to save me money but it didnt work.Final solution was to replace the converters. Knowing I had a time constraint, Dave ordered the parts and had them rush delivered. He and his assistant immediately got to work and finished with me having time to spare.Price? About a third of what the dealership would have charged!Dave and everyone there, including Oscar, the smog guy, were very personable and obviously put customer service above the profit margin! Would recommend highly!

Dave is awesome and very honest. Will give you the total price of the repair and labor. We took my daughters Car there and she was very impressed that he kept her informed about what needed to be done.

A engine light appeared...initially my son-in-law read the error and erased it. About 3 weeks later it reappeared the day before I took it to the dealer for an oil change. I was told to go to Autozone to check it. Twice then it read I had a bad catalytic converter. The cost of one is prohibitive!!!! I asked the manager/staff where to go...they recommended Dave and gave me his phone number. I actually feel blessed that they introduced me to him! He seemed honest and didnt pressure me into having ANY work done. He reassured me that my car wouldnt blow up! Also that it would last another 100,000 miles!-I dont want a new car payment and I love my car! He cleaned out the engine. His readings said that 4 of my 6 cylinders were misfiring...said it needed a tune-up...probably hadnt been done for tens of thousands miles. We did that. He was kind, knowledgeable and skilled.

I called the shop looking for a new muffler and Dave told me it would be between 75-100$ for one, which I felt was very reasonable. I then came in and in a quick manner they had my car in the garage even though they were very busy. Dave then proceeded to tell me he didnt have a brand new muffler but he had a very good condition muffler that was used and it would be half the price. I was glad to take it and now my car sounds amazing and I saved 50 bucks. I would defiantly recommend this shop to anyone.

I called Dave to make an appointment to bring my Jeep in for a tune up and a going over as we had just purchased it used. After looking at what he had in store for it he gave me an estimate, I gave my OK and off to work he went. Not only did he do the tune up but made a few other repairs that needed to be done. Now I feel safe in the Jeep and have taken it for a run to mountains. I would recommend Rubidoux Smog & Muffler to any one asking for a great mechanic. I forgot to mention, he also did my muffler and catalytic converter on a moments notice and did a wonderful job and great price.

By far the most honest and nicest mechanic I’ve ever encountered, not only did he not charge me an arm and a leg or took advantage of the fact that I knew nothing about cars he also called and made sure I made it home okay after I left his shop. I absolutely recommend this place to everyone and anyone ! I’d give more than 5 stars if I could !

Ive been coming here for quite sometime. I was sold when I first had to replace an engine in my SUV. They were fair, and have an incredible knowledge about EVERYTHING! The service is super fast. They also keep you in the loop every step of the way. Just awesome people and amazing service!

I know i can go to this shop and always get a fair deal . All my options are always explained to me . I am not mechanical so if necessary Dave pulls up a diagram of my engine on the computer screen and shows me what he is talking about . I consider that to be very considerate since i dont have to get dirty looking and touching engine . Most of the time the problem is fixed while i wait 15 or 20 min. Now thats good service if i must say so myself Thanks Dave and crew .

Called in to ask if they could weld me a larger custom mid pipe for my 2012 crz. Great service. I brought it in, and 2 and a half hours I came back to find my car sounding cleaner than ever. Great job and price.

I was having exhaust trouble and brought my car in with no appointment. Dave was extremely polite and welcoming on the phone and in person. He pulled my car right in and gave the diagnostic immediately. He gave me several options on how to repair it and I chose to replace my muffler which had a large hole in it. He fixed it right away an in about an hour and a half had me back on the road with a new muffler and a smile on my face. My car feels like new and I love it. Not to mention I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg and wound up paying half of what I thought I would. He saved my life today. Also, it says Smog and Muffler but they do EVERYTHING!!!

Called around for a good price to get a Catalytic Converter welded in for an 89 Honda Accord. Talked to Dave on the phone and told him Id be there in about 15 minutes. When I showed up he made sure the one I had purchased would work for my car and had the whole job done in around 10 minutes. This was my first time going there but I would highly recommend them and will return if I need anything else done.

Not sure if this called the Rubidoux smog. But next to it is called Bravos Smog. I believe they are with a joined shop. But for this smog place. It was very good. Surrounding area is a but ghetto but the shop itself was solid. Didnt pass the first time and they told me the codes. Got it fixed with another shop and came back and passed. Good little place if you are looking to smog.

My name is AJ and this guy is a piece of dirt. I dropped my bmw off to him to check for leaks, and he gives me the worst attitude and doesnt fix my car, then to make matters worst leaves it open so someone can steal it. Hes not even worth the one star.

Dave helped me out with my 99 eclipse exhaust manifold...out of everyone else saying that they are either closed or saying were about to close...I called dave 30 mins before they were going to close (they close late) and he said to bring it right up...as soon as I got there he recognized my car and told me to pull in the stal right away...he diagnosed and saw everything....he switched out my cracked exhaust manifold for an aftermarket one...he did it perfectly and even patched up some things in my muffler...the car came out great! It sounds nice and feels good! Thanks Dave!!!!!!!
