Not only is the staff wonderful the greatest part is the service I get when I come back for anything my amazing cars need! I will continue to come back thanks to the wonderful service and truly because of Joe in the service department. Honestly I used to hate coming to this dealership for tune ups and car maintenance but the service department has really been on the up and up lately. HUGE DIFFERENCE in the best way! The service technicians Luke and John Bates have been really helpful and forthcoming about issues my car could face and simple ways to help keep it in better shape without me feeling any judgment! 10/10 recently! Always a great experience bringing my Kia in for service! Ivy was amazing. She got me checked in and the services were completed pretty quickly. What’s awesome about her and her team is that they always are up front and and honest about services I DON’T need that day but let me know to plan on getting them taken care of at my next visit. Dennis was awesome and and got be a great trade in deal for a 2022 K5 GT Line fully loaded at a price I wanted. No other dealership around even put in the work to figure out my trade in but Dennis and his manager did It in a few hours!!!!Update: Wish I could give ten stars to this dealership. Gazi the manager was so helpful making sure I got a return credit from Ford doing way more than he had too to make sure I got my money when it wasnt even his dealership that made the mistake. He also worked swiftly to help me get a replacement key due to having a horrible experience moving from KC to MI. This small favor really brightened my day after so much struggle moving

My elderly mother took her kia in for a myriad of issues, not the least of which was the brakes. Communication broke down in such an epic fashion between mom and dad and the kia people. I was was shocked that customers would be treated so strangely in this technology era. It turned out to be a gigantic misunderstanding, and the manager went so far above and beyond what was even necessary to make sure things were right. Kudos to these wonderful people. Mistakes happen. These guys are amazing.

Brought my daughters Kia in for service and couldnt be happier with the experience. The technician accurately identified the problem and corrected it quickly without trying to upsell services I didnt need. My service advisor, Begi, communicated clearly and regularly throughout the process and made arrangements for me to pick the car up after service hours so I didnt have to take time away from my work. The guy we were buying through was awesome. Fun energy. Finance guy in the back was well aware I was buying the car, yet when signing all of the forms continued to direct conversation and eye contact with my husband, not me. I asked about the forms as we were completing the paperwork, and he was quick to brush me off, and gave me very vague answers. When I did take time to read, he would often say something to the affect of oh thats not too important, just need a signature. But I read, and it was important information. Loved everything at Kia! (Minus the guy who finalized the sale).

4 years ago we bought my wife a new Kia Optima from Tony at Shawnee Mission Kia. Two weeks ago we decided to buy a newer car for me. I saw a couple I was interested in online. Filled out a little information. 5 minutes later Tony called me. He knew exactly who I was. After test driving a 2016 Forte we talked numbers. Tony and Scott talked and related to us like friends rather than marks buying a car. The numbers matched and we decided to buy it. The finance process with Mark (who Ive known for 7+ years) was quick and easy. He explained everything we needed to know. The whole process was easy and smooth. We will be customers for many many years to come.

Absolutely horrible. Replaced motor after 103k miles due to head gasket failure. Replaced motor with rebuilt motor and by rebuilt I mean covered in grime/filth. Seriously looked like they took it from a crashed Sorento and put directly in my Sorento. Only put 2 out of 18? bolts back in the undercarriage protector so it fell off going down the highway and broke. Got home and took the two bolts that they did put in out. Heater didnt work, they tried to charge me $150 to analyze it, then after keeping for two days it suddenly just started working, and they gave it back. Never explained why it didnt work after they replaced the motor and just suddenly started working after keeping in their shop for 3 days. After 7 months began hemorrhaging oil. Took it back to the shop (supposed 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on replacement engine). Tried to charge me $590 to replace a failed/leaking oil pressure sensor, claimed they moved it from the old engine. After arguing that they replaced every other part of the motor (from the super glued/broken dipstick to the grime covered engine cover) with the parts in the new motor they were kind enough to reduce it to $290. Pretty sure no matter what breaks in the new motor they will claim it was from the old motor and want to charge me.Bad thing is, SMK used to be a good reputable dealership. After this fiasco I will never use them or buy another Kia from them or anywhere else. Horrible, the definition of a scam mechanic shop.

Justin went the extra mile to get us in a K5. Financing just wasnt working at first but he kept at it and got the numbers in a better place then expected. Dealerships can be time consuming but we were taken care of in a timely manner, even after a hiccup in the paper work. Not trying to be picky but…Upon arrival to pick up my new car, I had a 4 o’clock appointment and Justin had another client walking in at the same time. So I took the car for a drive, came back and still waited.I had sent all my information online, but still needed to produce my insurance and drivers license again.Justin really knew very little about setting up and showing me the accessories on the car. He had trouble setting up Uvo and another person helped, but once that was set up the other person helping said “to be honest it takes at least 30 minutes to show you everything and I am busy. I’m going to make Justin do that” Then Justin really didn’t know the features well so I am home reading the book and setting everything up.Just a little frustrated is all. I like my new car, don’t love it yet as I am still getting used to things and setting it up.Thanks! Soozie Linden

I came to Shawnee Mission Kia after choosing the vehicle I wanted at another Kia dealership and having a wholly dissatisfying experience with their sales team. So I walked out of that dealership and went to SM Kia. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted. Tony helped me and took my information and details on the vehicle I was looking for. He never tried to upsell me or try to convince me that what I wanted wasn’t what I wanted. I’m He looked for the exact car I wanted, and found it for me. There wasnt one person at SMK who was unpleasant to work with. In fact, we had a great car buying experience. We called ahead to check the availability of a car we were interested in, and when we arrived, they had a few cars for comparison side by side ready to go when we arrived. As far as the process of purchasing the vehicle went- it was about as smooth and stress-free as anyone could ask for. The total amount of time we spent at the dealership was about 3 hours (and that was with a test drive, a tour of the facility, a meet and greet with the back of house where the mechanics are, and a complete orientation of our new car after it was purchased).The only reason Im giving SMK 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 is because they offered me about 1/2 price for the full value of my trade in. However, we discussed the matter and after a little bit of persuading/haggling they agreed to give us 3/4 of the KBB value of my trade in. I cant knock them to much for this because they ultimately have to make money too. They werent trying to be malicious and I appreciated that they were even willing to meet me half way in the end at all.All in all, id recommended SMK to anyone who is looking for a great and stress free car buying experience. In fact, ill be going back to SMK the next time Im ready for a new (hopefully in a few years).

I was dismissed about a clogged AC drain the first time, and the second time I left with a slashed flat tire after a routine oil change. I wont bring my vehicle here a third time and will make the drive to Lawrence Kia for better service.
