My son is at Michigan State with one of our cars and had the tie rod break in his parking lot. He called to ask me where to take the car. I remembered Liskey’s had done work for me when I was in college myself and was glad to see that they were still in business 30 years later. We had the car towed in to the shop and they got to work on it quickly. They got me an estimate that I felt was reasonable and were able to fix the problem right away. My son picked up the car and said it drove better than before. I would recommend Liskey’s to anyone that asked.

We have two wheels that were slightly corroded. When we got new tires at a chain store, I told them about the leaky wheels and asked if they could remedy it. They said no problem. Well, there was a big problem. I don’t think they improved it one bit! The brand new tires would lose air and be completely flat within 1 week. Filling the tires every time I wanted to go somewhere is not something I want to continue. So I brought the vehicle to Liskey’s, explained the problem, and hoped for a miracle. And now, NO MORE LEAKING WHEELS!!! I was SO thrilled!!!

Have been coming here for decades. Family owned and operated. Believe they handle all auto repair except transmissions. Yrs ago they were known especially for suspension wrk. Had a vehicle with spoked wheels that was very difficult to balance. Liskey was able to balance the wheels while still on the axles. Very impressive. Have repaired electric brakes on a boat trailer.Business is first come, first served. Open at 7am. Think wrk begins at 8am. So, when they are busy, best to get there early. They seem always busy. My experience is that mechanics are competent and highly skilled. Honest and very reliable. Pricing is fair & competitive. They have repaired some odd & puzzling problems over the yrs. You may need to leave your vehicle over nite to keep your place in the wrk schedule.Comfortable waiting area. At least 2 coffee shops nearby. Other shops & restaurants are within a few blocks. Main Lansing library is further away. But, an interesting & comfortable place to hang out.UpDate: Aug 21. Needed front end alignment. Some leaky areas in front. Sporty domestic car. In at crack of dawn Thurs. Was waiting. They got hung up on other wrk. Kept it overnight, inside. Had it done; with another minor repair by early afternoon. Didnt notice in bright sunlight; but pretty sure they washed the car. Dont remember them doing that b4. Nice touch.

Ive been using Liskeys for years now and I trust those guys. Ive been in there when Ive needed work done, and theyve done it well, but Ive also gone in and theyve said nothing to worry about! and lets do this $65 fix instead of that $600 fix. Cant recommend them enough.

My Jeep was deemed unsafe to drive, because the engine cradle was essentially dissolving with rust. Liskeys basically replaced most of the parts in my steering assembly and drive axel in only a few days. They were extremely professional, and the price was more than fair.

Liskeys is the only place I go for alignment service. And, as a mechanic, its the only place I send people after suspension work. They also will straighten and weld a cracked rim.

I wanted to get a second opinion, boy am I glad I went local! I was recently made aware that there were some issues and things that needed to be fixed on my Avalanche. Having just changed the shocks I had all four tires off recently, some of the diagnosis made sense, but some did not. I put in a call to see if I could drop off my truck at Liskeys for another look. Not long after I return to work I received a call with the diagnosis, this time I was not surprised by any of it and it all made sense. I was given a reasonable quote and they had it done the same day. The customer service was amazing, explanation was detailed and simple to understand, and they went out of their way to help. I was told the shimming I felt in the steering wheel had to do with a bent rim. Knowing Liskeys is the only place around who straightens rims, I brought my car to them. I had recently been in an accident whereI had to replace several tires. The rims ended up bring rotated during the process . Based on what I had described, they checked both front rims discovering both were bent. After the repair, I drove the car home on the expressway at high speeds. It handled beautifully. Two weeks later, still driving on the expressway, at times at high speeds, it is still driving beautifully. I was very impressed with their service.

Arrived at 8:04 am. Told there were seven cars ahead of me and that there are no appointments. Explained that I thought there was a bent wheel and possibly I needed a front end alignment. All work was completed before 10:00 am. They do good work!

Needed new brake pads, rotors & calipers...Also needed a ride home & back to Liskeys to get my vehicle, got it ALL @ LISKEYS :) Got a quote, it was stuck to & even though it was not super cheap...they got the job DONE! I’ve had Mechanics in Michigan, a couple in Washington State. None have even come close to the quality, service and prices of Liskeys. My mechanic, Bill explained everything that was going on with my 4 wheel drive, and corresponding issues, taking me back to show me hands on what he was doing/finding. I have never had a mechanic that was so honest and respected my intelligence as this place. Seriously, every penny I’ve spent here was more than worth it, and I would recommend them to anyone. They don’t take appointments, but that’s because they actually take TIME to make sure they’ve got it right without taking all your money in the process.Could not say better of them. Seriously. I was informed at the tire shop I had a cracked wheel and that they couldn’t install my new tire. They installed my spare but it wasn’t the correct size. I remember hearing on the radio that Liskeys does wheel and rim repair. I called Friday afternoon and they got me in first thing Monday. They fixed my wheel and literally saved me 400 dollars vs a new wheel. I brought my truck, wheel and tire in; they fixed my cracked wheel mounted and balanced my tire, they also installed it as well. They were super polite and very fairly priced! I’ll be coming back again. 2014 GMC Sierra 20” wheel.

I brought my suv to Liskey’s as a walk-in and they figured out exactly what it was and had it finished before they promised.Very quick, honest service.I see why everyone recommended I take my truck there.

I called about noon to see if the could look into an issue of my car in for front end shaking at highway speeds and asked if they could take care of it before they closed. I am not have one car. They said sure thing. The location was convenient to my work, I was able to just walk 3 blocks back. I received a phone call around 3:30 that my car was done and that it rides like brand new. Four tire balancing did the trick at a reasonable price $86. The front desk was very personable and they take great pride in their business. I would definitely recommend others to give them a shot!

Thoroughly pleased with the service I received from here ( Liskeys Auto )Long story short, I had got brand new tires but the place I got them from ( Discount Tire ) does not provide the service of wheel alignments.Kind of weird for a tire place. I called multiple places, all over and they told me to bring it on down. They checked it out and showed me not only did I need a wheel alignment but that I first needed to do work on my front wheel.They were closing but told me to bring it back at a convenient time so a few weeks later I took my car there after they were closed, dropped key in box, and they did all the work by lunch time the next day.Price was reasonable and the work that was done very quick.Very professional and polite which is a major plus when deciding my next service.

Ive been here with several different vehicles and every time I cine here the service is great. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. My vehicle runs great. I do think the prices sometimes are a bit much but what auto shop doesnt charge what they charge or more. Over all great place. Highly recommended!

If you buy tires from them, they rotate and maintain them, For example my tires are 4 years old and just last week the front tires started not holding air very well, so today they cleaned up my 10 year old wheel rims, put in new valve stems and even rotated my tires. Fixed the problem and because I bought the tires there, no charge!!! They have always done a great job in the past with tires, wheels, brakes, suspension, brake lines, etc but today I remembered why they are the best. I was already a customer, now Im a customer for life, even though I now live 45 minutes away, they are worth the drive in my opinion....

Got some work done on the front suspension system and it all worked great for about a month now the initial problem seems to be back, and it was an expensive fix. Not too happy.

Simply asked about an alignment and the guy who answered the phone was rude and seemed like I wasnt important to them...Id steer clear as that has dishonesty written all over it.

I was very impressed with the level of service and knowledge of the staff. Based on the advise of the lead mechanic at my trailer repair/sales dealership (Victory Trailer, Metamora, MI).I drove 1.5 hours each way to have my trailer axles serviced at Liskeys. I am extremely glad I made the drive and will continue to use Liskeys for all my fleet needs. My trailer rides better now than it did off the factory floor.

These folks are a real pleasure to do business with. I keep my cars (2 Toyotas and a Dodge pick-up truck) well-maintained, but I drive them a long way---I have two that are over 200K miles, and are 12 and 20 years old. Vehicles with that much age and mileage start needing more non-routine maintenance and parts replacement, and Jerry and staff have always been willing to accommodate my tendency to bring new parts to them for installation, saving me a lot of money. Always very fair on labor costs, and the work is first-rate. Sometimes, I even get an under-the-car tutorial from whichever mechanic is working on my car, showing me what hes seeing when hes doing diagnostic or repair work. Its always good value to learn a bit more about my vehicle from folks who know what theyre doing.

I took my car here for a front end alignment before taking a long road trip. I drove around 150 miles then started hearing a clunking noise. I pulled over and found 2 of the 3 strut bolts were loose and the third bolt could not be tightened because the threads were stripped. These were brand new struts just put on the car the day before. When I bought the car back the guy working the desk said he thought I was lying about it. They did repair the stripped out bolt but the fact they thought I was making this up was frankly quite a shock. I am a former automotive master mechanic and I would not trust them to put air in my tire.

I recently took my car in for service. I had the oil changed and asked them to check my brakes because another service center told me the fluid was low and there could be a problem with the brakes.I was a little worried about what might be wrong and what the cost would be.I got a call a few hours later saying the car was ready to be picked up. When I asked about the brakes, he told me the brakes were fine and the fluid was at a normal level.The total cost was $63 which I thought was a very fair price for the inspection and oil change.When I picked up the car I was surprised to find that they had even washed it!I would highly recommend Liskeys for their honesty and fair prices.Marty Herman

Nearly great. I would come here again. Id ask for more specifics on what work theyre intending to do. It seems they did a great job and have a lot of pride in their work. I had thought the pricing was excellent, but it turned out they didnt do quite as much as I thought they would, but it was very reasonable indeed! The service was also quite timely, turning around two repair jobs in 26 hours.

I came in they got my car in fast fixed what I asked them to with rims put rim I had off back on back the car and did some extras witch I find is ussual with some mechanics but I find they want to charge u for stuff u didnt ask them to do but liskeys did all theres free didnt even ask or try to upsell another fix and did all this so cheap

The short of it is that they misquoted on the phone. The guy said that I was already $120 into it with the towing and inspection, and that it was going to be $603. You can imagine my surprise when I whipped out my credit card--after the work had been completed--and he said the total was $723. What?! Thats not what I was told earlier. Oh, I was supposed to ADD UP those two numbers?! So they never gave me an actual total when I authorized the work...His language was totally misleading. I have dealt with car guys for many years and have never had an issue like this. Since when did saying youre already $120 into it mean that wasnt part of the total? He said into it, as in, it goes into the final total. I know that may sound trivial, but when you expect a $120 charge to be included and then it ends up being tacked on, its a big difference.I went in to complain the misunderstanding and they all just stared at me like I was crazy. They made me feel totally uncomfortable. Jerry made me meet him halfway and only gave me $60 back! Wouldnt even give me the full difference! Wow.Plus, they didnt fully fix my non-start issue. They said basically it could happen again and if/when it did take it into the dealership. Fine whatever. When I got home the check engine light popped on and the gas cap warning came on! I took it back and they corrected the warnings, but it was a total hassle and Im never going back.

Liskeys was highly recommend by another tire/wheel store to repair a damaged rim for my daughters 2015 Fiat after she hit a pothole. Other places did not have the necessary tools, equipment, or expertise to repair it properly. I was just going to buy her a replacement rim but she would have been without a car to commute to college for almost a week since there were none available in the area and we would to have had to wait on shipping. Thank you so much for fixing her rim properly and helping a struggling student not miss her classes! Plus it was a huge savings not buying another rim. You now have loyal customers that will refer people to you as well.

I called liskeys to get a quote, not only were they the highest priced, but the guy talked to me like I was a 3 year old. If thats how they treat a customer on the phone I dont want to know how they treat them (especially females) in person.

They were quick. My vehicle still pulls to the left. They mark up parts 100% so youre paying double for parts. Pry triple because they most likely get a discount. The hourly rate isnt bad but beware.

These people are good at what they do. Bill and the staff are friendly and willing help. And the popcorn in the lobby is pretty cool.

I came here to have a bent wheel repaired, the price is fair for what they did. I feel slightly gouge on the cost to balance and mount the tire ($25) Not a big deal but others have mentioned this practice on their materials. 20-30% markup is standard anything else is greedy. I would definitely recommend them for wheel repairs but thats all.

Repaired my brakes for 1450$ immediately afterward my oil light began flickering, checked it out seemed ok, eventually seemed more solid, one day started it up to a very loud noise which ended up causing car to die on road and get towed. I changed the oil and light went off, but adding a little gas pedal caused a big BOOM in the engine. 2 months after repair car is now totaled. Wish they check or notified me.So the overpriced brake repair lasted me 45 days. On ly option was to scrap car for 250$
