DONT WASTE YOuR TIME OR MONEY!Bought a gallon of their “best” paint went home excited to get my project done. Turns out the paint was as thin as water put on 3 coats over primer and it will still take 3 more. If I had months to paint and let dry only to paint again and again I wouldn’t mind. However I planned on a weekend project now I have to cancel my whole job! I returned the paint to the store and the sales person put 2 coats on a stir stick about 2 inches long and used a blow dryer in between. He brought me the stir stick that didn’t have any primer and said it looks fine to him. I now will go to the big box store and get paint that is thick and rich and will cover as promised. Don’t waste your time!!!

Great experience today at the La Mesa store. I left the store with paint that was matched and mixed, along with prepping supplies. Painted one room already and it looks great! Kevin did an excellent job helping me.

I absolutely hate laziness and ignorance. Not sure who did large African-American clerk is at the store but as a contractor I move around a lot at work about 18 hours a day, and to flat out say that “ We don’t match stains“ is preposterous. I go to the store on convoy regularly I never go to the store because of that reason, to me it spells laziness and poor management. But that’s OK lazy people rarely ever become successful and usually Stay exactly where they are. Will not be coming back to this location again

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in to get a gal.of paint that was originally from the frazee company that was made entirely different before they were bought out. Yet the gentleman who assisted me not only assured me hed do his best to match it by 80-90%,but explained the whole process in brief that even a 10yr.old would understand.To be conclusive he did better than 80,90,95...it was 100% match. And I also noticed that there wasnt a single customer who came in that was greeted and attended to properly by the other sale associates. The individuals who manage these 7-11 franchises could REALLY learn a thing or two from that establishment..3 👍s up!

Sherwin Williams at La Mesa is excellent. The service is outstanding and the color matching they do is absolutely amazing.

Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. I took some old paint in and was helped by Michael. He patiently worked to get a color match which was a bit of a challenge due to the age of the paint containers. They offered to recycle the old paint. Very pleasant people and very pleasant experience.

My first visit to this location was terrible, I vowed never to return. I visited on a Saturday of which happen to be the day the store had 1 staff member working, he was extremely rude and unprofessional, very irritated, kept saying he was the only one there and could only do so much, that he needed to help the gentleman in front of me and then had someone on hold, so he didnt know when he was going to get to me, because again he could only do so much. I hadnt even asked him for help yet, it was at that point that I walked right out the door and decided never to return. A few weeks later I decided to use a in home consultant and called the store to schedule, it was this call that prompted me to give the representative Karen I believe was her name the 5 star rating. She was completely different from the first experience, very helpful, provided great feedback and even apologized for my negative experience. My advise, dont go on Saturdays the grouch might be having a bad day and hes gonna let you know it.

First get an in home color consultation. Once that is done you will have a good idea of what you want in colors. Then go to your Sherwin-williams store and youll love the experience of the sales people. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

Better customer service from your managers. I went in to your La Mesa store to buy 4 gallons of white paint and 4 gallons of matched red paint. It wasn’t until after my red paint was made that I was told that you were out of single gallons of white paint. This baffled me. How does a paint store run out of gallons of white paint. I was also upset that I was told I had to go to another store to get the white paint. The store clerk told me that the paint would be in later that day and that I could come back. That wasn’t very helpful. It then dawned into me that maybe they had 5 gallon containers of white paint. I asked if they had 5 gallon containers of white paint and they said yes. I asked the store clerk if I could get the 5 gallon container at a discount, since they were out of the single gallons. He said that his manager would have to approve that. I said ok. Then he quickly said that there was nothing he could do. I said that he didn’t even asked his manager??? Here’s the kicker, his manager (Josh) was sitting next to him. I then turned to the manager and explained to him what was going on, as if he wasn’t listening the whole time. He said he could give me $1 off each gallon. I said that wasn’t much of a deal, being they waited to make my red paint before they told me they were out of white paint, and that I had to go to another store to get the white paint. He said there wasn’t anything he could do. I then told Josh I wasn’t going to buy the red paint and that I was just going to go to the other store. He said I couldn’t do that after they made it. I told him I didn’t think he was trying to help and that I’ve spent over $900 on paint there. He quickly got up and got a 5 gallon container of white paint and gave it to me at a discount. My customer service experience at Sherman Williams wasn’t a good one with Josh there as the manager. So no, I’m not likely to refer people to your store.
