Ebony & TJ made it happen for us. Had a problem with U-Haul trailer. The tire blew out. In the process found our the wheel bearings were bad. I talked to Ebony who set everything up to trade out the trailer. TJ helped us when we got there. They even had movers there to help us move everything from one trailer to the other one. Thank you so much for taking great care of us

Best U-Haul in Gainesville. I’ve used this location 4 times now and plan to use it in the future. They have huge selection of inventory but best of all great customer service. Anthony was super helpful.

Ebony helped us with our trailer rental despite some hiccups on our side. She made everything easy and was very helpful and knowledgeable during the entire process. She went above and beyond what was required or expected.

Reserved online prior to pick up. Awesome staff fast turn over time. I was in and out in 15 mins. Cant ask for better than that.

Told to return trailer her on uf move in weekend. When I showed up they said they were not accepting it. They did not offer any help. They actually told me I could not park there while I tried to figure out where to return it. The phone support wanted me to drive another 35 miles to return elsewhere with no compensation. I escalated and over an hour later suddenly this location was willing to accept it. Uhaul needs to get their act together and remember who the customer is.

The people here are nice, but this place is very poorly run. There are trucks, cars, and trailers randomly parked all over the parking lot so you almost cant even move. They also only had one person working the front desk on move- in weekend, so the wait in line was horrendous.

Need to store you stuff for awhile. Come here. Frindly and nice staff. Price is always good to.

On June 25, 2021 we loaded a UBox at the 6th Street location in Gainesville, FL. The items were the contents of my sons apartment who had just graduated from UF. After loading the box and locking it, we returned to the counter to ask for paperwork. The man at the counter said we were good to go and there was no paperwork needed. This turned out to be the start of a disaster. Our UBox was supposed to have been assigned a tracking number. It was not assigned any number and now UHaul reports that the box is lost and unable to be tracked. I have phoned supervisors in the sending and receiving area, and they report that they are looking for it. We have well over $10,000 worth of contents in this box which were to be delivered to our son who begins grad school next month in New York. We are beyond dismayed and outraged that the most important detail of this process, assigning a tracking number, was not done. We are prepared to file complaints with the BBB and all other relevant agencies. I urge you to reconsider using UHauls UBox service, it clearly has no built in safeguards to protect against such loss. UPDATE: we contacted the local and regional Uhaul managers and they were able to locate our box at the Gainesville location, it was the only box out of over 300 that did not have an id.

Our truck was given to us with no gas. They are supposed to give it to you at at least 1/4 tank. They gave no discount or anything. We put gas in it and when we returned it they tried charging $32 for it being slightly below 1/4 even though THEY GAVE IT TO US ON E! Never again. 🖕🏼

Customer service was good in both states. Trailers are older but served its purpose with lots of swaying and bumps. Easy pick up and drop off.

Really good experience. We needed a last minute trailer and was able to get one quick and easy. Alex helped me at drop off and was friendly and professional. Plus the parking lot is huge in case you are nervous driving a big truck or trailer.

I visited this U haul location and i was impressed at the service an attention to detail That the manager that took care of me provided.Her name is Jennifer Judd she was very aware of her fleet and provided outstanding service when i needed to change my truck from a 17 to a larger truck .no waiting and very professional.I would recommend this u- haul location to anyone. great service and excellent persons to rent the trucks I needed.This is a well tuned operation and the store and bathrooms were very cleaned and store organized and well stocked of moving essentials.I definitely will come back and rent at this U -haul.

This entire company is a joke! I called to verify if I could use the same card I made for my reservation online to pick up my vehicle with a they assured me 3 times that it wouldn’t be an issue and even left notes on my file. I got there to the location in 6th street and it was an entirely different story! The lady helping me Dawn rudely demanded a major credit card and then told me “it doesn’t matter what they said over the phone” She was extremely rude. I’ll never use this location again

Do NOT rent from this location! This location allowed a complete stranger off the street to rent under my name without verifying their driver’s license with my information already in the system from months prior; to make sure the number and name match.Then the people who rented under my name decided not to return the truck on time which resulted in a late fee which they failed to pay. I received text messages and phone calls about this rental I’ve never made. I had never even been to this location. I also received a bill via email from this rental I’ve never made. Had they done their job properly my identity would not have been compromised and I would have not had to file a police report.

Great place. Several options. But I had a bad experience with the lady at the front desk. Even with a reservation she denied to rent a small truck because I presented an international driver’s license. Even after explaining the law, no deal. Only after calling the customer services of U-Haul I got a truck in another store downtown with no problems at all. I know this is not a common situation, but a misleading information is always a sign of lack of information.

**UPDATEThe representatives I had spoke did not provided me with the right information. U-haul does provide financial help when their equipment malfunctions. I got a call from the roadside assistance team and they were incredible nice and understanding. They behave as I would have expected from a big and reliable company.I rented a storage unit a few months ago at this location and the costumer service was on point. Since the experience had been positive, I rented a one bedroom truck at the same location to move my furniture from Gainesville to Miami. My partner moved everything from the storage unit to the truck and drove direction Miami. However, the truck broke on the interstate. After restarting it, he had to go back to the location because the engine light was on. They provided us with another truck, a very bad attitude and a 10% refund, that is it!. We would actually have liked to get actual help. I do not think we should pay for people to help us move everything again because of the awful quality and/or maintenance of their trucks. Renting the truck was 350 $$ !!! Not cheap at all. It is really frustrating when big companies take advantage of you just because they think one costumer doesnt matter. Well, one costumer always matter. I will not recommend U-haul to anybody. There are plenty of other storages and you can definitely find better priced trucks. We decided on U-haul because of their previous service and because we thought if something like this were to happen they would have our back. Now we have to do double the work, reschedule the moving for later tonight or even be forced to move tomorrow and pay for an hotel... Not to count the gas money and overall, the terrible experience. We are very disappointed, frustrated and tired.If you have other option than U-haul, I would recommend for you to take it!

Classic Bait & Switch:I priced a trailer hitch on my 2019 Honda HRV last summer and was given a price of $413. Chris at U-Haul called around Christmas said they had discounts and asked if I were still in the market. He offered a 10% discount I said more like 40%. We arrived at $262 for the same package. What I received was a cheaper hitch, cheaper wiring harness and no draw bar, ball or pin.Tommy Stewart age 73 and a 50 year resident of Gainesville!

Opted for a Penske truck instead of uhaul, but I think it was a wash in the end. The great swampy humid climate provoked the mold in every piece of upholstered and wood furniture. Srsly consider getting an air-conditioned unit.

Waiting at one location to tell me that my reservation was sent to another location. Came to this uhaul to pick up my reservation and the wait was 45 minutes while they kept helping people that would just walk in without waiting in line. Waited another 30 minutes at the desk for staff to find my key. How do you not know where the key is for a reservation?

Had a good experience with the staff in the 6th street location. Both our visits (the first pricing stop-in and then our actual rental visit) were friendly, helpful, and the guys didnt try to oversell us, even helped us find a way to save a few bucks. We got a 26 truck and a furniture dolly. We inquired about renting a storage unit, they gave us all the details. The equipment was in great condition. We were extremely satisfied with the overall quality of the visit.

Was moving and they helped me get the right size truck was able to pick up close to where I was moving from and let me drop off truck close to my new apartment.

I showed up at 9 am time of opening. I waited over an hour and a half for my Ubox to be loaded onto a trailer. This is ridiculous, only come here if you have time to burn. Poor customer service.

This is the best storage place in town and its the best place to rent a U-Haul the guy that works there named Sean is one of the best friend people to talk to you and he is very nice and loves to help his customers out I recommend this place above any other U-HaulI definitely would say this is the best places to shop at for any of your moving needs and anything else you need so Im stop by and see Sean

I returned a one-way rental trailer to this station the same day I picked it up (even though I paid for a 3 day rental). Since the station has a 24-hour drop, I left the trailer and the papers late at night after business hours. Weeks later, I got a bill for two EXTRA rental days plus a late fee. Come to find out, the trailer was not checked back into the lot until 5 days(!) after I dropped it off, and I was billed for the difference. After calling the corporate and local offices several times, I was finally refunded for one (additional) day of use, so I was billed for four (plus a late payment fee for money I didnt know I owed) days when I used a trailer for one day. If you do rent a trailer, DO NOT drop it off after hours. YOU are considered responsible for it until an employee feels like checking it in, and video surveillance ONLY exists for UHauls benefit, not yours. If you ask, its not an option.

For how big of a location, they sure don’t know how to deal with reservations and returns. After chasing around employees outside, I had to wait 30 minutes to get someone to close out my reservation for a 5x8 trailer.

The ABSOLUTE WORST service I have ever had. I recently rented from U-Haul Moving & Storage of Gainesville on June 26. I got most of the way to my destination when both the check engine light and oil light came on. I took it the 3 miles to my destination and called U-Haul as soon as they opened up. I spoke with the store sales employee Steven, he told me to get an emergency one way, ensured me there would be no issue OR extra costs to me. I called U-Hauls towing company. They were great, got me a tow truck within hours. Tow guy got it and returned the Vehicle to U-haul. You would think problem solved...HELL NO. I look at my email on July 11 to see I have been charged for having that truck for 5 days. Of course I did not have it. I got an email saying the truck had been returned to a location, on the 27 of June the day it was due. I do the responsible thing and call dispute charges. They tell me the manager Trever will get back to me within 48 hours. I wait a week and no phone call. I call dispute claims back to find out that Trever had updated my file to say he spoke with me, and that I was just a customer refusing to pay. In other words I was accurately charged and was probably one of those cases going to collections. I told dispute to put Trever on the line immediately... he was on vacation. he would call me back on Monday. I call him Monday at his store, to find hes in a meeting, at which point they even REFUSED to place me on hold for him! The woman on the phone went as far to say I was being unreasonable. OBVIOUSLY this manager can not return phone calls, why is it unreasonable to be placed on hold. I proceeded to ask who the general manager was. I was going to speak to somebody. She wouldnt even tell me that. I looked it up on line and called Richard Coon. He apparently was in a meeting and would call me back that day. Guess what happened? HE NEVER DID. The absolute worst company trying to bleed a 21 year old girl of every penny for their greedy cooperation. I have used Penskye before, I will never stray away from Penskye again. and Be sure I will place this post all over my twitter, snapchat, every thing I have because NO ONE SHOULD GET SCREW LIKE I AM!

Got an estimate for installation of a hitch but they had to order it. They said they would have it in a week and would call to set up an appointment to install it. No call so I called them after a week and a half and they took my contact information and call right back. I guess they dont want to do it.

Trucks need gas... They told me it was at an eighth of a tank, turns out it was less than 16th. Gas light came on two miles from leaving their place.

My wife bought some plate protectors there. Only place we could find that had them.
