I have depended on Mark Hurm & Co. for HVAC installation, maintenance and repair for the past 33 1/2 years. They focus on and are acutely aware of their customers’ needs and respond to them quickly and competently. Recently, during the pandemic, my AC handler and compressor ceased working and needed to be replaced. Hurm & Co truly went above and beyond to locate, secure and deliver the replacement I needed.A team of three young men made the installation with each expertly performing their tasks. After the installation was finished, their work looked like a fine piece of artwork which prompted me to nickname the young man who completed the final step by applying duct sealant, “Leo” for the renowned artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Have used this company for years and always received quality service. Most recently Chris was on time and professional as he maintained our AC unit. He went out of his way to add an additional PVC to our drain line to treat for algae and prevent dirt from plugging the outlet. Great Service.

The fan on our AC unit went out after hours on the weekend. Office staff was very professional and efficient. Our technician, Chris Hayes, was wonderful - very quick and communicative so we understand the issue, the fix and any other important information to consider for the future. Issue was fixed and house was cooled down again within two hours of my first call to the company. Excellent service all around

Like many AC companies out there they have some seasoned employees and some that maybe should be supervised until they know the job better. This company is honest and that goes a long way. Recently when I asked for Mark the owner to resolve an issue, he wouldnt get involved and referred me to the Service Manager who didnt handle my call to my satisfaction. He was sarcastic and rude. As he spoke I had a feeling that I might call someone else next time. To his credit though he sent a tech out who resolved the issue. In summary however: 4 tech visits to get system to stay on and I felt like a child that was sent to the assistant principals office. What happened to respect for your customer. This is why the rating of 3 stars. I still wonder if what was done to fix the system on visit 4 had been done on visit 1 there would have been no need for visits 2-4 and visit 3 was on the weekend for which a higher rate is in effect. I should have been assured there would be no charge but instead I was told how high the charge would be on the weekend. If anyone knows a company that doesnt charge higher rates on weekends and after hours for the elderly I would like to know about them. My mother doesnt tolerate being without AC in the summer.

The Team at Mark Hurm and Co. is exceptional, and have never disappointed me. Most recently Rick Sheppard came to perform the annual A/C checkup. He did a very thorough and thoughtful job. I felt that his focus was on my systems and the customer. He answered my many questions with patience and in such a way that I followed what he was telling me. All of which inspired confidence.

The motor of my A/C unit fried during TS Elsa with a power surge. I called and Jen was very nice on the phone. She even called me back to give me an earlier time when they had a cancellation. The technician who came diagnosed the problem quickly and had a new motor installed within minutes. The price was very reasonable. It was a pleasure doing business with such a wonderful company. Service with Mark Hurm & Co was amazing. I called at 8 am on a Monday and was told that they could get to me on Tuesday, but would place me on the cancellation list. 5 minutes later they called to advise they had a cancellation and that they would have a tech in route shortly. The tech Chris showed up within 15 minutes. He was very nice, explained everything that was going on and got the job done very quickly! Chris was the best!

Not recommended. Poor quality. Messy, messy work. Equipment damaged by stepping on it when asked not to. At least 5-6 dents on it. Screws, nails, left all over the place, pieces of metal, wires, cigarette buds. Unfinished job sealing ducks. Disconnect box left with wires arching inside box. 40% more expensive than the competition for a job undetermined to be better or worse or unique.

Excellent service! Very professional. We had two new units installed by Mark Hurm & Co. which included attic installation. Not an easy job by any means! They sent two crews out in order to accomplish the job quickly, which was done in 2 days. They were here promptly at 8 as they said they would be. Any questions or concerns we had were promptly addressed and all of the work was done efficiently. Prices were very competitive. We feel we definitely got the best units at great prices! Thank you to Mark and your employees for a great experience! I would highly recommend this company.

The best customer service ever! My air went out in my home. Instead of leaving me to suffer in the heat Mark and Justin found window units to keep my family comfortable until our new unit was installed. Quick and wonderful installation. Mark Hurm and Co were wonderful to work with. They sales team was on time for a quote and gave me 3 very respectable quotes. Also they assisted me getting a borrowed window AC unit into a window so I could use it temporarily while my AC was out. After getting 2 more quotes from other companies I decided to go with Mark Hurm.The install crew was very professional and friendly. They went over the programmable thermostat and also showed me some features on my new AC unit. They cleaned up their mess before they left and made sure I was completely happy with the install before they left. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a new AC unit. Great job guys.

Had a new heat pump installed in a residence that clearly needed renovation. Existing poor design of output ducts couldnt be changed much without drastic reconstruction. Additional returns were added to improve circulation.I was impressed with the workmanship but feel I was sold too large of a system. It is larger than the original. I think wed have been better off with a more efficient two-stage system of the same size.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. They replaced my office AC unit a few years back after another company couldn’t sort things out. And just today they came in on a super busy day and squeezed my office in and sorted out a broken capacitor issue in 10 minutes.They service my home AC as well. I would not trust anyone else.

I had an issue with my AC. I called Friday morning, not expecting same day service but was informed that while they couldn’t see me in the morning they could have someone show up in the afternoon after I got off work. I told them I would be home at 330 and they didn’t indicate there would be any problem with that. They called at 230 saying there had been some cancellations and they had someone in the area and could they swing by earlier. I told them no because I was still at work and would get home at 330. They again did not seem to indicate this would be a problem and they would be by around that time. I waited until 6, wondering when they would get to my home when I decided to call them to see what was going on. It was now after hours and the women who answered told me that their after hours technician didn’t have me on his list. She said I could call said after hours tech myself but that would involve a hefty “emergency” fee to have them show up because I wasn’t on the list. Unacceptable. I wish I could give zero stars.

Mark Hurm and Co. did a full replace of my HVAC system, which was 28 years old. I worked with Ryan, who walked me through the prospective job, gave me a very competitive bid, went above and beyond the contract to make sure the job was done right. The two men installing did excellent and timely work. I couldnt be more happy with my experience with Ryan and crew over at Mark Hurm, and would happily recommend them to anyone looking to do work on their HVAC system!

They replaced all of my ductwork for a reasonable price! My old 1950s era ductwork was creating condensation, etc in my attic. I also have a super low-slope roof, so there wasnt a lot of room to work with. But they got the ductwork in (which evidently was a real pain!), and it works great, and they also used lots of heavy duty insulation around the ductwork, so it wont sweat anymore. The team was great and professional. I definitely recommend them to anyone else.

This goes to GARY MIX who posted very fake, incorrect stuff bout Mr. Hurm. Mr. Hurm doesn’t talk like what you described also if the truth was known you were probably the one who’s con artist. Mr. Hurm is by far a con. Out of all the gville ac companies here. He’s the most honest when it comes to service and install. Most ac companies charge over $100 for a capacitor, Hurm charges like $20 $80 difference. By the way Gary Mix it’s pretty sad that your wife is a contractor. You could not pass the test. Looks we know who the bread winner is. Every one reading this post Mark Hurm Co. best ac company in Gainesville Fl period. There prices are way cheap

I had the pleasure of talking with Mark from Mark Hurm heating and air today. I called because I’ve heard his ad on a local radio station that I listen to and thought I would like to do business with a client of theirs. The conversation went more or less like this.“This is Mark Hurm” I introduced myself and I proceeded to tell him that my wife and I were building a custom home and we would like to get a quote for an HVAC install from his company. He asked me, “So you are shopping for quotes?” I said, well no, I’m shopping for an HVAC unit but I’d like a quote because I’m looking for a good unit and a reasonable price. He asked “So you’re looking for a cheap price?” I said no that’s not what I said, I said I’m looking for a good unit and a reasonable price. He asked “who’s your contractor?” I explained that my wife is the contractor and that she works for a company that produces high end homes and she has a contractor’s license. He said, “I don’t bid on tract homes, I’m an engineer and contractors contact me to install HVAC in their homes but I don’t bid on tract homes.” I said this isn’t a tract home, it’s a custom home and I’m just looking to get a quote because I have heard your ads on the radio and thought you would be interested in bidding on the job. Then he asked if I had other bids. I said I had one from xyz company. He said “I’m not going to bid against them. I’m an engineer and I engineer the HVAC project…” After a few more “I’m an engineer and I don’t bid against bla blab bla”, I thanked him for his time and ended the call.Let me translate this conversation for all of us non engineers:Hello, this is Mark Hurm, I am a con artist and I don’t give bids to educated shoppers that don’t want to be scammed. Unless I can rip you off and overcharge you till you can’t walk straight, don’t waste my time.Do yourself a solid and find an HVAC company that actually wants to do honest work for a reasonable profit.

On August 21, 2017, when Ross was there replacing the capacitor, I asked him if i can get any discount. He said he would take $25 off. I also asked him to give me a quote on a new system because I plan to replace the old one. Ross said the office will process that. They never did - they did not take $25 off the service or give me a call or email me a quote. Mark Hurm answered the phone and rudely said the charge has been done and can not take the $25 off. They can take the $25 off when I have them replace the new system. No - I will never ask them to. I gave 2 stars to Ross for agreeing to take the $25 off.

Great customer service! My condo had the original 1992 HVAC system and I was not wanting to find out how much longer it would last. So I asked around, and got a couple referrals for Mark Hurm & Co. I called to set up an appointment for an estimate. Rolando came out and checked out what we had and came up with a few different proposals. We discussed the options from an entry level unit all the way to the cadillac system. We decided on which system we wanted and set up a date to have the install done. Two weeks later the install was done. The guys that did the install were great, very friendly and professional. Rolando provided outstanding customer service throughout the entire process. The new system has performed flawlessly and our power bill has dropped significantly! We are very happy with our decision to hire Mark Hurm & Co and we would highly recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC repair. Great company and great people!

Couldnt be more impressed. Mark Hurm and Co have been to 3 of our residences to repair AC issues and fix problems that other services have caused. They have NEVER once tried to talk me into repairs or parts that arent absolutely necessary and they really go the extra mile to save money for us. I will never use anyone else!
