Working as a travel nurse at Shands and have been encouraged to try Halo multiple times. I finally did it! I tried the pumpkin cheesecake donut which I loved. I didn’t love the cake donut. The flavor (lemon blueberry) was great but the texture was a big change for me. I see why everyone has raves about this place.Bonus they offer very speedy service

Truly, these donuts are a romance being written on the tongue.While I dont live in Gainesville, Ive heard a ton about these unique donuts, and I had to try them when I was there. Thankfully, it worked out. The line stretching across the lawn easily speaks for the donut shop, and its deliciousness.My friend and I chose our own donuts, and then I asked for the lady taking our order to just make up a mixed dozen for us. I loved the opportunity to try so many different flavors, and each felt unique to me. My brain was boggled that these donuts are made out of potatoes?!?! I think its the density of these donuts that hints at the potato ingredient; otherwise, I would have no idea that these donuts were anything but normally made donuts.An absolute recommendation if youre ever in Gainesville or driving by in the morning!

The most friendly staff and the most amazing collection of donuts. Their coffee is out of this world! I cannot believe I have missed this Gainesville gem! A must to go place for Gainesville native or anyone passing by. Make sure to be there a little early than their closing times because they run out fast!

Donuts here pretty good and it’s a different texture and taste, it was worth the experience, but not as much as the hype about them. The stores hours are very limited, long drive through line, and each donut costs around $2.5-3, which is a bit overpriced for it. Worth the try, but I wouldn’t go out of my way again to get them!

Wow, when my son told me let’s go and get some potato donuts I was like yes!We had two options either get out of the car and buy our donuts as we eat there or stay in the car and do it like a drive-through and that’s the one that we did because of the weather. Since it was cold it was better to stay in the car as we drove around until we got to this young guy very nice and a attentive who took our order.We had three different donuts, the maple one, vanilla, and chocolate and peanut butter. My favorite was the maple one even though the other two were as delicious too.The taste of these donuts it’s a little bit different you can see how rich is because of the potatoes. I didn’t feel that they were heavy but they were so good! I like the fact that the prices were not extreme for me they were reasonable and the service overall here was outstanding!

Great donuts as always guys/gals...Definitely need to work on the flavoring for the coffees though. Caramel apple didnt taste very caramel or apple flavored and pumpkin could have used more of a rich pumpkin flavor instead of a sugary pumpkin (was very sad to discover this after getting back on the road🙁)

Went in around 8:30 and we were able to find parking and order within 5 minutes of arriving but it was starting to pick up in traffic and from how yummy the donuts were, I can see why!The cinnamon sugar and Nutella donut were delicious, along with the Nitro Cold brew. When they brought the order out they graciously offered to bring some puppy biscuits and my pup was very satisfied. Thank you for the fast and considerate service in addition to the yummy donuts!

Made it to the food truck location at 8:30am after waiting in a car line for 20 minutes, and most donuts were sold out already (which makes me much less likely to try coming here again, I dont understand why this is treated as a point of pride). We got a yeast donut and a cake donut. Both were very stale, had a strange odor, and had very little flavor beyond being too sweet. The service was very nice, but overall I would not recommend.

Just recently found out about potato donuts and this place right here is amazing. A little more pricier than a regular donut but man is it worth it! Great customer service and really fast. (Two cookies and cream, strawberry sugar, two maple bacon, pumpkin cheesecake and one lemon blueberry) I will definitely be going back.

The donuts here are good and the texture is interesting. I’ve never had potato donuts before and they are definitely a must try. So many flavors to chose from...My fav: cookies and creme. I waited about 20 minutes in line but it was worth the wait. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. I did not try their coffee but i heard it is just as good as their donuts. Will try it next time!

These are some great donuts!! The dough is more dense than the typical donut (from the potatoes they use), but its still fluffy! Id love to see if they can make mochi donuts or incorporate ube? The flavors they have are fairly typical, but my favorites so far are the maple blueberry and maple bacon. Prices are fair and Im really glad they have order online options. Would come again when I get another donut craving!Edit: Had to come back when they came up with their yeast potato donuts! Love that they are fluffier and their weekly special flavors are always so fun!

These are hands down the best doughnuts that my wife and I have ever had! They are made with natural ingredients which is a huge plus for us. Not only are the doughnuts great but the customer service that the staff has is awesome! The owner, Drew, is a great guy and is always welcoming when we visit. My hubby just brought a box of these home, because he bought a bunch for a big meeting he had. OMG!! I broke low carb/ keto, just for these and I will tell you, it was soooo worth it! We just had the plain ones, but Im going back for the flavors. Ive done amazing on keto, just hope I dont gain it all back!!

Im not a big fan of doughnuts, but omg, we just stumbled upon this place this morning to grab a coffee and they were closing. Gave us a free box and let me tell you that I cant wait to come back. Love this spot! They have such a creative menu and they never disappoint on their doughnuts and I also love their iced coffees. Staff is also super friendly. I’m not a sweet tooth kind of person but this place is too good to pass up.

They have some good donuts, but they are always out of all the flavors. We went at 10am and they were already sold out of the donuts we wanted. The cake donuts are not very good and they seem to have way more cake donuts than yeast donuts. They also used to have a drive thru but now it seems they stopped that, so now we have to wait in the sun...

The donuts are good!!! But if you want a business to be loyal to you like you are to them forget it. Myself and fellow colleagues have supported this business since it opened. When they were unsure if college would be back in session we went daily and bought donuts even by the dozen!!! Asked if they could help us out so we could enjoy a donut in the morning by letting us pick them up and it was immediately shut down!!!! Like I said donuts are good but don’t expect for them to appreciate your business!! Go to Daylight donuts instead for great donuts and great service!!! They took my order over the phone and had it ready for me immediately. Wish this business appreciated their loyal customers the same way!!! They even advertise falsely (see attached pictures of signs at the buisness call ahead and curbside pickup not at all)!!! Daylight Donuts all the way for me from now on!! If you have not tried them give them a go first!!!We never had multiple conversations I had one with you on Friday. Also what about call ahead orders? Your sign has it on it ? Like I said and as you can see from his reply just go to Daylight donuts and spare yourself.

Ive seen lines in front of its trailer at Must Love Dogs, but I never stopped by to try their donuts. Only a commercial on WRUF motivated Mr to wait in line. It didnt carry my favorite donut, the plain fried cake. All it had was glazed and cream-filled donuts ala Krispy Kreme. (Note - I hate Krispy Kreme.) I bought a lemon filled and a chocolate-espresso filled. My wife didnt like the lemon filled. Said the donut was too doughy like it wasnt fully cooked. Mine was also doughy but, more disappointingly, the cream was blamed with no strong flavor of either chocolate or espresso. Needless to say, we wont be going back. Ill stick with the donuts at Donut Connection on NW 39th Avenue.

I attempted to patronized a couple of months ago (waited 30 minutes in line) only to be told they were sold out. They gave me a card to encourage me to return.Regrettably, I did this morning.The cashier should be remanded to a mental facility - and definitely theyve opened themselves up to a lawsuit because she refused to take my order because IM DISABLED.In this day in age to discriminate against customers is absolutely ludicrous. I threw the card at her and walked away.So here is my advice to the disabled members of the community - when that feeble minded cashier refuses to take your order because youre disabled - have your phone camera running - turn around and SUE THEM.We dont need people like that in our community.

If you don’t know what to get, I highly recommend the cinnamon brown sugar and the lemon blueberry! Their specials are always a good choice too. Their donuts are delicious and so worth the wait! Their specials of the week keep things interesting and always entice me to try new flavors. They’re very friendly. While the cashier was wearing a mask, of the 10/15 or so employees I could see behind her (who were preparing and handling food), around half of them were not wearing any masks. While the evidence is unclear whether COVID-19 can be transmitted through food, it’s probably better to play it safe rather than take a risk (considering how popular of a spot they are).

Lemon blueberry is a definite standout. All the donuts are large and a great value. Its a great place.

So good! Got the cookies and creme and coffee crunch. Deff recommend coffee crunch. Lemon Blackberry must also be a really popular sellout because it was gone before I got to the window. Best to get there before 9 or else you may be in line with at least 30 others. The line goes by super quick though. Social distancing and mask wearing was followed by those in line and those working. Great customer service.

My family wouldn’t even eat them. Too sweet and heavy they say. I enjoyed but could only eat one and we ordered 8. It tasted like a very heavy churro cake covered in icing. $25 flop...Not going back. The staff was very polite and fast service and if you like potato donuts you’ll probably love this place, just not our thing. Disappointed because they are so highly recommended and I drove way across town to try.

I am OBSESSED with these donuts. Seriously, the most delicious donuts I have ever had. And in addition to having great products and fun flavors, Drew and the rest of the crew are such a pleasure to buy from / work with. My wife and I had Halo Potato Donuts at our wedding instead of a wedding cake (seriously, obsessed...but you will be, too). It was easy to place the order with Halo, and they were even able to deliver them the day of so we would have them fresh for our guests! Amazing customer service and unbelievable donuts make for the perfect experience. If you havent tried them yet, you are missing out!!

The donuts are worth the hype. The maple bacon is all you need to get in my opinion. They also have a really good PB&J that I hope they bring back. The line can get incredibly long so you have to get there EARLY. The customer service is incredible and the donuts come out fresh and hot faster than you think! Ill definitely go back to try more flavors. My fiance likes their coffee as well so why not give it a try

First time going here and the lady who rang me up was super friendly and everyone inside the store were wearing masks and gloves. It seemed fairly busy at 8 am on a Sunday but there was plenty of room to stand 6 feet apart. It only took them a few minutes to put my order together even though it seemed busy. I tried the lemon blueberry donut, I would have preferred more blueberries and it was on the dense side, so I couldnt imagine having more than one, but overall still very good.

Although lines are long, it’s worth the wait! I have had every flavor on the menu.Super friendly & already know faces!

Absolutely awestruck. We tried the lemon blueberry, chocolate peanut butter, maple bacon, and the seasonal caramel apple pie. The closest thing I could compare the “cake” portion of the donut to would be funnel cake. I don’t know how I’ve been living in Gainesville for 4 years and have never tried this. To anyone asking if it’s worth waking up early to avoid the line: YES!! This is going to be our new spot for our Sunday donut ritual!

I love donuts! These donuts are super good. This was my third visit to Halo potato donuts, and I was not disappointed. I had spoken with the owner previously about the addition of the new yeast donuts to the permanent menu. When I got the shop I realized that the OG yeast was not on the special menu for the day. I told the employee at the window that I had spoken with owner the day prior regarding the yeast OG’s and that I didn’t see them on the menu. She turned around and informed the owner. He reassured me that he would have them made on the spot. Within 5 minutes they had 10 HOT-dripping beauts ready for me. You do not receive this type of customer service at many places of business these days. Just wanted to give a s/o to HPD for keeping it real and having the best donuts and customer service in town. They are now ingrained in my Sunday morning routine and I am looking forward to doing business with them in the future. 5/5 would recommend!
