Food was pretty good (had pizza). Variety of shots. But beware that billiards was $11 to rent the billiard balls (within which youll need to give your ID). I had no idea and was only asked if I had a tab then asked to give my ID. After I went to grab my ID back I was asked to pay. Kind of sucks but didnt make my experience that terrible.

The place is cool, it has a variety of entertainment options, even when you wait for your table to be ready. Its also so spacious so we felt better because of covid situation. I took 2 stars because I dont have an American ID, so I am not used to have my passport with me all the time, the guy responsible didnt let me in although I showed him my passport (softcopy) on my Google drive, but he insisted to see it physically!!! I felt as if covid times didnt teach us anything. Like everything went online and remote, why cant you consider seeing a softcopy of an ID?? Plus, I am 40 years old, so I definitely look older than 21 ! Anyway, I had to go back home (luckily I live close) and bring my passport as I didnt wanna the group with me to change the location

Just what you want if you are looking for a pool hall. Nice tables and plenty of room. Good sound system. The back lounge is fairly swanky feeling. The food is pretty much just pizza and a few apps. Pool is by the hour. Enjoy!

Nice pool hall. I came in here when traveling through Florida last month. When I got to Gainsville, it was somewhat late, maybe around 12am. This pool hall was one of the only places open at this time. They have a bunch of pool tables and in the back, you can just kind of chill and drink. It has quite a large capacity also. I actually asked if it was a church before it was a bar lol.Overall, this is a pretty cool place and definitely worth checking out.

Bartender was nice, but i didnt realize that they order the food from a pizza place as i had never been there before. If your going for the pool ita great if your going for the food. Just order 5star pizza its the same stuff.

Very very very clean establishment, so much to do, quality pool sticks unlike most bars/billiards, they even have weights printed on the cues! there is a whole back area with plenty of comfortable seating, tvs and games like darts and giant jenga. will definitely be back.

Main Street bar and billiards is a classic bar to swing by for a quick drink and catch the ESPN highlights, or treat yourself to a night of fun and billiards. Drinks are reasonably priced and nightly specials make if worth a few rounds with the buddies. Other activities such as darts, poker, and life size tabletop games make for an evening of fun or a great first date. Its my regular bar and Im hard pressed to go anywhere else. Stay classy and swing on by!

I was just in there. Great atmosphere awesome pool tables and very clean. But the blonde bar tender be aware DO NOT Give your debit card to. All I got was 10 jello shots for 15 dollars. She charged me 30. Refused to give me a receipt and when I tried talking to her she said Im busy. That it would eventually just charge me 15. No she charged me 30. No where near 15. I gave a cash tip to so she got me for quiet a big tip. We used to go in every so often. Wont be back. My friends wanted to play pool so stayed for 2 hours and they all used cash thank goodness.

Great hang out spot. Great drinks, prices are fair and Ive never had a bad experience.I wouldnt advise ordering food from them though. They just order from 5 star. Which is fine and all. But if I want 5 star Ill just order it myself. Which reduces the chances of my order being made wrong. Middle manning ordering my food for me is a great gesture, but an unnecessary one given all the great experiences they already provide.

The largest pool hall in Gainesville and always a great time. Tues is league night so it does get busy.

Place was really laid back but the beers were not great. I liked the service and everyone seemed to order 5 star pizza instead of the food they offered. Seems weird to me unless the food is either really bad or too expensive. The prices I saw werent expensive for the food. They dont have a cover so you can just go on in

Had an amazing time last night! The bartender Caroline was the sweetest girl ever. She had a great smile which made the bar very welcoming! She was so fun to talk to and was very knowledgeable with drinks to make. Pool tables were great, first time and will definitely be back for the bartender with more friends!

First pool hall I’ve visited in 18 years. Had a good time. Nice place. Probably better to go early unless you like it busy. I’d give it 5 stars but the bar staff took their sweet time when turning in the balls. I felt like I was being ignored.

Great place! Free pool as long as you keep your bar tab above the $4 per hour rate. Buy two drinks and you have free pool for 2 hrs for example. When you walk through youre thinking typical pool hall but after 50 yds of pool tables you reach the bar and realize theres more to this gem of a bar. A swing in the back (no not the kinky one), a poker table, darts, connect four( what are we 4? Lol), and lots of cool art and decor! And love the interesting names of drinks.

Incredibly hungry, I was very impressed with the crab cakes here. Much lighter than normal, they didnt fill me up. I was grateful because the crab crusted red fish royale was a very filling portion and it was delicious. I savored every bite.

Fun place to hang out! I was pleased that they do NOT allow smoking inside at all, which is great for someone like myself who doesnt smoke and is easily bothered by it. The bar has seating available and a few choices of bar games like Jenga. Our drinks were good, the bartenders were friendly and helpful, the place was clean and not too crowded (but not empty either). Ill be back!

I am from out of town and this was definitely the spot to go to. Super clean and fun for a Saturday night. The brunette hair small girl behind the bar was amazing. She was super quick and kept conversation with us the entire night. She even remembered what all six of us had to drink and we are complicated people. I had a little heart burn so she was very attentive and made sure I got water. Blonde girl behind the bar was kind of rude. If it wasnt for the brunette girl I would have left. I wish I knew her name for next time we come into town!

Great general pool hall. Nothing flashy. No niche. But its spacious, the cues are decent, the tables are nice, and theres a jukebox. Good times.

Very cool and laid back spot. The door guys and managers were very cool and outgoing guys. They checked up on us and made sure we were cool. Highly recommend this if you want to just chill and have a couple drinks.

Plenty of high end pool tables, good music, and pretty relaxed. They play free poker for free drinks in the back every night starting at about 9:30. Its worth checking out.

I ride a motorcycle so I keep my gear in my backpack. Not that I was getting in there with my backpack 4-5 times in the last two months without an issue, I was told that I cant get in there unless I leave my back bag at the door. I asked if they have any secure place and I was told this is their policy and they dont have any secure place. When I told the guy at the door that I got friends waiting in there for me so I would like to take them out, I was able to walk in. There was a guy on the right sight of the saloon at the first table with his backpack.One of my friend was not allowed to get in a month ago because he was wearing basketball shorts. I did not feel suspicious back at that time and found another place to play. When I walked in today, I also saw another fella playing pool with his basketball shorts on the last table on the left.I understand that they put some rules on the window but apparently those rules dont apply to all customers. They are used as an excuse for not accepting customers that does not follow a certain profile. I am not going that very discriminative place again. I hope one day, they will have some guts to apply their own rules to everyone walking from the door.

Carson is the BEST reason to go to this bar. She makes the best drinks in the house and always makes sure you have a good time there. Make sure you ask for her when you come in 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

My usual spot on the weekends to play a few hours of pool with well priced drinks and nice staff.

Ive Been in Gainesville for over three years now. This bar is like my home away from home, great staffing over the years. Jim the owner is always welcoming when hes in house. The bartenders serve the proper amount of alcohol in mixed drinks. Security is always fair and understanding. fair pricing on pool, drinks, and darts. Great atmosphere especially with the remolding over the the last year. Pool tables and sticks are always in great shape. This will always be my go to place to relax downtown.

I dont know what place these other people writing reviews have been but my friends and I are regulars at Main Street and always have a great time. Happy hour is super cheap, the tables are in great shape, the bar tenders are all good looking and always nice to us! Food would be nice but they do offer Five star pizza that comes pretty quick. I have no reason to talk down about this place!

I dont usually write reviews but after reading some of the other ones, I feel I have too. I have lived in Gainesville for over a year now and havent found any other pool halls in town with as nice of tables, cleanliness, and all around welcomed feeling. They offer so many things to do in one place that you can spend all day and night, then forget they close. Always a drink special or beer special going on and the bartenders are a sight for sore eyes and awesome!
