Nice little beer hall, chill, with music playing in the background. The sec championship is on both projectors, but the sound is off, so maybe not exactly a sports bar. Apparently the chef cut himself, so no food to review tonight.The bartender Mallory was lovely to chat with, and the beer selection was great. If mothers sounds too fratty and loud, you might prefer this place.

I recently visited Gainesville, Florida and had an opportunity to spend some time at House of beers. They have a wide variety of options to choose from. They also allow you to order in food from outside the establishment. All the staff were friendly and cool. They have a very interesting Rewards program for their regulars. If youre looking for a craft beer options definitely check this place out.

Came to Gainesville to visit a friend and stumbled upon this gem. The environment was great and the beer selection was exceptional. I got to talking with the owner and he was a very nice and helpful gentlemen. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

I love Gainesville House of Beer! It’s your go-to local bar here in Gainesville that not only offers a wide selection of beers, but has a great atmosphere as well. Love that it is also conveniently located in the heart of downtown Gainesville. Definitely a place to go to sip a beer, relax and/or catch up with friends.

Used to be able to get a pint of Boddingtons for $6 and now it’s $7.50?? And please don’t tell me the distributor raised the price.. I am a distributor. Can’t support a desperate place taking advantage of people. There are better prices at Epcot... let that sink in. For the record, the bartender was cool tho. Not shooting the messenger

This low-key bar has 41 beers on tap and more in the fridge. It has games you can play while drinking like apples to apples and giant Jenga. They show English premier league games and those have a really fun atmosphere.

I recently moved to Gainesville (4 days ago to be exact) and stumbled upon this gem. As my first venture to town I didnt have a good experience with Gainesville, until as stated above I seen this corner treasure. Jack was welcoming and informative. The atmosphere was pleasant, laid back and welcoming. I recommend this establishment HIGHLY.

Lived here for 8 years - House Of Beer is a great bar. Relaxed environment, great for grabbing a drink and catching up with a friend. Alex does a great job of curating an enjoyable experience. Good beer collection! Shoutout to the doorman, Charles In Charge. Very helpful with a broken glass and attentive to helping some dehydrated travelers to much needed water.

I love coming to this bar. The beer selection is great, they have awesome specials, and it’s very clean (even the bathrooms are super clean because they keep them passcode protected). Don’t listen to the bogus one-star reviews. They were probably written by some homeless guy who got angry when he tried to use the ladles room but it was locked 😂😂

Hands down best experience Ive had at a bar in Gainesville or anywhere. The owner was working behind the bar and was the most down to earth person and was also very informed on every beer they had. He recommended me a beer that was perfect for me! Will definitely be coming back!

First time here, Great selections of beer from all varieties. atmosphere is a little dark however very relaxed and laid back. bartender very welcoming and willing to have you taste samples at ease. enjoy experience and would go back.

Ive come here quite a few times for a drink, and Ive enjoyed my experience here every time. Theres a lot of choices, and they offer samples. Id recommend coming here at least once and asking about getting a sample of their entire selection. I cant remember the cost of it, but it definitely opened my palette to all the different flavors that exist. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Definitely a go-to for when Im looking for a place to hang out in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

The bathrooms just got remodeled and are very nice! Great beer on tap and in package. Nothing beats a great pub/sports bar to be able to drink a beer at and talk to random strangers about literally anything for endless hours at a time. The prices are great too, sale tax included!

Used to come to this place a lot when living here. Has gone downhill quite a bit. Beers are miniature and priced like cocktails. Service a little clueless to craft beer. Feel was a little filthy and an awkward smell. Didn’t try the food btw. Hopefully this place gets back to the old cool vibe it had. Will try again next trip

I have been in Gainesville since 2000. I have seen a lot of bars come and go. I am always willing to try out a different place and was happy I did so a while ago with House of Beer. They have friendly bartenders who are knowledgeable about the different kinds of beer and have a good vibe. I have been back many times since and it was actually the place I chose to take my sister when she was in town visiting from Iowa!

I visited a friend and she recommended we go here for a few beers and we ended up staying the entire time. Loved the beer selection, bartender is a cutie and I like the vibes inside. I recommend and will go back when I visit again!

So many beers to chose from. Very reasonable prices. They always show the hottest futbol(soccer) games. Great crowd. Right on University Ave where you can do tons of people watching. Very fun, relaxing spot. Cheers!

The bar is clean and it smells nice inside and the bathroom is clean and well stocked. My fiancé and I came in on the 4th of July. It was quiet but Alex behind the bar was lively! He let us taste all the beers we were interested in and he let us quiz him on the beer menu. His beer knowledge is really impressive and we had a great time. I am sure this place gets much busier than it is tonight, and we look forward to adding to the business.

HOB has been my favorite bar in Gainesville for a few years now. The selection is great and always changing so if you like to try a lot of different beers, this is the place for you. Atmosphere is very chill and everybody is friendly. By far the best bar to watch soccer in and they have great deals every night. Ask for a Rail Card and get free stuff!

Bartender was cool but this place was pretty lame. Dirty atmosphere (bathrooms, floors, bartop, glassware) terribly overpriced beer and apparel (wanted a T-shirt for my mom.. a cpl beers and a T-shirt will put you well over $50) there are better options with the same beer (cheaper) and better vibes on the same block.

Pretty disappointed in our visit here. I was super excited to try the hob peanut butter blonde ale. I ordered a flight of 6 and of course got the peanut butter blonde ale which was good. However the beers were warm not cold.... and when we got our check the flight was $20.... even tho the prices on the beers only equaled up to $16.50 but we got charged $20 because it was a flight!??? So confused why I got penalized for ordering a flight guess I should have just ordered small pours of all my beers to save me my money. also my fiance ordered a beer and it was supposed to be a dollar off on Monday night but they still charged us full price... honestly I will never be back one because the beer was warm and two because of false advertising on price and over charging us horribly. Definitely not worth going to very disappointed.
